Chapter 33

Chapter 33
Days passed by in a blur that Jane barely noticed it.

The Volturi slowly prepared their operations for the immortal child incident. It was one of the most crucial time period which they needed to plan and decide carefully. It took them quite some time yet the head of guard was certain that she will support the decision the masters will make.

"Sister..."

Jane snapped out of her thoughts when her brother held her shoulder. The head of guard's eyes scanned the area and she paled at the sight of the village. She immediately masked her terror with an expression of apathy. Bodies lay scattered within the vicinity, all of their faces contorted with pain in their lifeless eyes. Amidst all chaos, a young child stood in the middle.

The blonde vampire locked her eyes on the immortal child. She had scanned the crowd and it seems that every guard was given a task of finding the young child. The blonde boy's face was stained with the blood of whom he slaughtered. Jane slowly walked towards the young child. She had bent down to the child's level and faced him.

"You must be Vasilii, am i right?" Her tone was devoid of any venom and animosity.

To Vasilii, the blonde vampire looked like someone he could trust. His dark red eyes stared right through the head of guard as he scanned her face. Immortal Children possessed the kind of charm that vampires and humans could fall prey to, however Jane seemed unfazed.

"Will you be my friend?" He simply asks her as he held out his hand.

It was an invitation to play after all. Jane could only smile and nodded. The two spent quite some time playing in the woods in a game of hide and seek. It took Jane quite some time to realize that it was no longer playtime. There was n0 room for her maternal instincts for the immortal child in front of him.

He stood in front of the village opening and grinned.

"Playtime is over, young child." Jane tutted and carried the young child in her arms.

She slowly made her way back to her coven who gathered at the center of the village. Every step felt very heavy for the head of guard. The child in her arms was not heavy yet it must be her own heart that felt heavy. Jane had locked eyes with her brother and he nodded in approval.

"No!"

Jane spun around and she saw the immortal child's creator running after her child. A brief look towards Sasha had her collapse in the ground in pain. The head of guard continued walking with a heavy heart. Regret and anxiety sinked in her stomach as she knew far too well what was to happen next. The creator grew very attached as she fought to protect the child.

"No!"

"Mother! No!"

The other Denali children cried out for their mother. For a second, Jane pitied them as she knew the feeling of losing a parental figure at the hands of her master. For a moment, she sent a sympathetic glance towards them and Caius was able to catch that. He could sigh in resignation. Emotions was the primary weakness of his blonde charge and the blonde king feared that it would result to her downfall.

The blonde vampire could merely watch as the Denali mother was executed. Jane did not know where to place hrself in the situation. At some point, she knew that Sasha must love the child to death in order for her to change him. Yet at some point. Jane had found her selfish enough on giving the curse of immortality on the young child.

As Marcus and several members of the guard dismembered the Denali mother, her remaining children cried out in agony. Jane stiffened to hear such agonizing cries from the remaining children. It was a moment of deja vu as she could hear her same cries when Didyme had passed.

Aro had looked at the blonde vampire and signaled it was time. Jane could have sworn that her arms felt heavier as the child stared right through her eyes. Vasilii looked at her with a curious expression then his smile fell. The immortal child glanced at the fire where his creator was incinerated and looked at the head of guard once more.

It was as if he immediately understood.

"Can we play again?" He asks the head of guard.

Jane's brows furrowed as she felt the weight of every Volturi member staring and waiting for her to dispose of the child. In such solitude, she realizes that there was simply no choice after all. If she let Vasilii live, he would probably cause more havoc than what the Volturi would perceive. Yet someone as heartless as her, could simply not find the courage to kill a child.

"Jane..." Caius said impatiently.

In a haste, she throws the child in the fire killing him in the process. The Volturi would have preferred to behead the child before lighting him up on fire, yet Jane did not. She cannot put down an innocent child by a mother's selfish actions. Jane could not simply bring herself to kill a child too young to understand.

In his last few moments, she could not forget the look of betrayal seen in Vasilii's eyes. The look in his eyes would haunt her for eternity that was far beyond her control.

She had kept her silence till she was able to return to the Volturi Castle. She had come to a point where she had nearly questioned the Volturi's actions. In such few moments, her maternal instincts manifested towards something forbidden. The head of guard did not know that someone as young as her could possibly have the same maternal instincts Didyme and Athenodora could have possessed.

"Jane?"

She snapped out of her thoughts once more as she stared at her master.

"Yes master?"

Aro had looked at her with an expression she was not able to read.

"A word please, in my study."

After entering her master's study, she was surprised to see him out on the balcony, where he had been enjoying himself. Jane approached him with caution, taking her time to think things through. Because of her irrational feelings for a small child, she thought that he would be furious with her for jeopardizing the execution by interfering with it.

The child was to be put down in the first place.

"Do you wish for me to beg for your forgiveness?"He inquires, "I apologize for all you've been through throughout the ages. Is it true, cara mia, that you despise and detest me?"

Her breath hitches with his pleading.

"I don't need your apology, Master," Jane said rather truthfully. "I hope we can keep things proffesional within the two of us. You are my master as i am your head of guard. I hope boundaries are set within the two of us."

"Come back to me, my dear."he knelt in front of her. Jane was surprised to see the Volturi king kneel in front of her. It was not a regular sight to see Aro Volturi begging for forgiveness. Even for such a guard like her."Isn't this what you wanted all those lonely years? For me to love you?"

"There is no use persuading me to go back, Aro. I made my decision and its final."

She fought every urge to throw herself at him.

"Leave me be!" she screams at him.

The word "never" sent shivers down the blond haired vampire's spine as he pins her to the wall. "Jane, I've given you more than enough time. Please come back to me!"

The Volturi king kisses her on the lips as he leans in. Jane was taken aback, but she did react strongly to his kisses. Aro lifts her up in his arms and places her on the ground.

There wasn't much left of her sanity to fight for. Aside from intimacy, she craved his lips. In his hair, the blonde vampire ran her fingers through it. So she didn't care if he took her that night or not. With all of her heart and soul, she couldn't let go of the lust she felt in her bones.

What ferocious flames will engulf the soul? What surreal desire is the key to unlocking its door?

"M-Master..."

"Yes my dear?" he asks as he slowly undos the garments she was wearing.

"Dont."

Despite the restraint in her words, the Volturi king could tell she desired him. Her body is the one who betrays her.

"Why not?"

"I will not be able to control myself if you do not stop touching me." Jane said with such caution.

"Im afraid we are past the point of no return, my love. I waited for so many years to ravish your body and to call you mine."

"B-But Sulpicia..." Jane trailed off but she was surprised when he ripped off her dress. The blonde was left in her undergarments.

"Let it be about us during this moment, Jane."

He kissed her hungrily, and this time she kissed back. They passed the point which they can never return.

His kisses went down to her shoulders and he removed her corset. Throwing it aside, his his head of guard undid his buttons on his garments. There was no righteousness or sinfulness this night.

To resist was to be no use.

"Jane..." he whispered in her ear as the head of guard was laid down on his cloak. He had the chance to gaze upon the blonde vampire who had come into his life like sunshine. If circumstances were much better perhaps, then he was free to call her his own.

At this time, they abandoned their unspoken thoughts and let the fantasy desires will bring back the heart that has already been lifeless for so many years. The walls they've created to protect themselves from lust will come tumbling down. The night's chill is shattered by the comforting sensation of warmth. His lips ached as he kissed her passionately and closed the door to the hotel room. It took the Volturi king no time at all to press his lips even closer to his head of guard who had also retaliated.

Each time they kissed each other, their lips seemed to be ablaze with the flame of love.

Their naked bodies entwined beside the roaring fireplace and during that moment all that mattered was about them. She held onto him for her dear life as he entered her. Their bodies moved as one as they fulfilled a need that was too urgent for them to deny. The Volturi king grasped her waist as he bedded her hungrily. They had passed the point in which the line between right or wrong was blurred, how long must he waited for her?

"A-Aro! M-Master!" she moans as she felt every thrust inside of her.

He cupped her breast as they savored each other's body. He made wrap her legs around him to make each thrust a powerful one. She dug her nails into his back as she writhed in pleasure. He came inside of her as she held onto him, not feeling an ounce of remorse. Every touch felt like flames licking unto her skin. Their bodies entwined as they were in union of one another.

It was as if heat and cold engulfed the master's study. Aro rolled off and laid next to his head of laid down in his chest as they catched their breath. He traced the highest points of her facial tears could have fallen from her eyes realizing she was in the wrong. The raven-haired king noticed her silence and lifted her by the chin.

"Why are you upset? Do you regret it? Did you really regret loving me?"

The bridge is crossed and she stood to watch it burn. They passed the point of no return, and Jane did not answer his question. Their night of passion embedded onto her skin like fire that led her wanting more. A woman and a man, no more and certainly no less.
