~The Selection~
Chapter One: The Selection
It was time. Evie, Jay, Mal, Ben, and Carlos approached "Dr. Facilier's Voodoo Emporium," where all the four VKs would surely be. Every group had there own place they claimed.
Evie gasped, "It's just like how I remember it from before..." Carlos nodded slowly, "Me too." How is it that we've left this place because of how horrible it is, but it's still somehow feels like home? Mal asked herself.
Ben cleared his throat, as if to relieve some of the tension, "Well, lets grab 'em and go." The other four nodded in agreement.
Evie had selected the four VKs who were the sons and daughters of Dr. Facilier, the Queen of Hearts, Prince Hans, and Mother Gothel. They had gotten the news prior, so they should be ready to go.
That's when Evie spotted them; sitting at a table in the far corner. They usually hung out there when they were bored or needed to talk. The group approached them, "Francis, Quinn, Hugh, Marissa?" Evie began "Are you ready to go?" They all have some notion of disgust or disapproval, like an eye roll or a sigh.
Hugh was the first to stand up, he bowed before King Ben and Mal. He was of moderate stature and generally good-looking. He is well-versed in horsemanship and has tremendous sword fighting skills. It is also shown that he is skilled in using crossbows, or at least capable of diverting their fire when needed. Hugh has fair skin, a light dusting of freckles across his nose, auburn hair, sideburns, and green eyes. He wears navy blue trousers, black boots, a magenta cravat, blue shirt, indigo vest, black epaulets, gold aiguillette, and a light gray-and-black blazer with patterns.
Quinn was the next to get up, "Let's go," she says, plainly. She has long, wavy red hair, bright green eyes, and light, fair skin. And she always wore anything with red or black. She and Evie were alike with their fashion styles; always wearing a symbol of a heart with a crown, or a touch of royal gold. Quinn is short-tempered, a bit childish, impatient, irrationally sensitive, and can be rather egotistical.
Francis obviously didn't want to, but he arose and started messing around with his cards, unacknowledging everyone around him. He and his father spend most of their time in the Emporium tricking people with motives of greed and evil. He resembles his father almost identically with being tall, skinny, and dressed in very linear black-and-red clothing. Francis has purple eyes as well as a tiny gap between his front teeth. He has long, boney fingers, and lanky arms and legs.
Marissa stayed sitting, staring up at Hugh; she was always way too busy crushing on him to really care about revenge or anything else. She has black hair with white highlights, piercing blue eyes, perfectly curved, pink lips, and olive skin. And she always wore a mixture of black and maroon. Marissa can get a bit too controlling, often presenting herself with a theatrical flair, flaunting her beauty and appearance with much enthusiasm and dramatics.
Evie went on "introducing them" to the others. "Quinn, daughter of the Queen of Hearts." she faked a smile, "Guilty." Evie went on, "Hugh, son of Hans-" "Prince...Hans." he corrected. "Ahem, Francis... son of Dr. Faciler." Francis liked to stay hidden behind everyone; in the shadows. "And Marissa, Mother Gothel's daughter." She only twirled her hair and cracked an evil grin. The others stood there awkwardly for a while.
Evie finally clapped her hands once, "Okay... um. Are you guys all packed and ready to go?" she asked. "Unfortunately." murmured Francis. Evie's shoulders suddenly got a bit heavier, but she tried to shake it off, "Well, the limo's outside and... it has candy?" No one seemed very thrilled, but loaded up anyway. "You know we're the same age right?" Quinn asked "You don't have to talk down on us like we're little kids."
Evie stared out her window as the car pulled out. "E..." Mal whispered "Everything is going to be fine." Evie looked down, "How do you know that?" Mal shrugged "Well... no one knows if it is and we can't expect that it will." Mal put her hand on her shoulder, "It'll all work out, I promise." Evie chuckled, "M... please don't promise me something you don't know you can keep."
Mal didn't respond.
The four VKs sat in silence the enite car ride across the magic bridge and into Auradon. There was a small parade waiting for them, not that they were thrilled about it or anything. Doug gave them their schedules, showed them their dorms, and they got settled in. Evie had a bad feeling about the whole thing, despite how excited she'd been before.
Carlos and Jay didn't seem too upset about the situation, they were too focused on sports or technology to care. Mal wanted to help Evie, but she only kept to herself. Ben, obviously, was busy with his normal king duties and Mal had to help since she'd joined the court.
Evie wanted so badly to help and be involved with the VK's new lifestyle, but they only kept shutting her out. She didn't know what to do except keep her distance while they adjusted. The VKs mainly spent their day with the same drill: never talking to anybody besides themselves, not participating in class, spreading evil nonchalantly, and keeping secrets.
Their whole routine was just... suspicious and weird. People tend to talk as they mostly do in high school. And Auradon Prep's cheerleaders were the queens of gossip. But the VKs only ignored them. They didn't care what any of the Auradon kids had to say about them. They were planning something... evil.
They would not fail, it wasn't an option. They promised themselves NOT to fall for good's lies and fulfill Dr. Facilier's prophecy. Now that prophecy, was never told to them... but they had their plan and instructions to proceed with it. And that's exactly what they were going to do.
"Until the end of Auradon..."
