Rogue

I'm back bitches, after 7 torturous maths exams.

-----

With Yoongi's reassurance of the plan, I went back to work trying to shift my mind away from it. I did make a mistake or two because I couldn't fully concentrate though.

Yoongi said that Yun would be dealt with very soon, and by that he meant under two weeks. I just hoped that this two weeks would go smoothly and the assassination would happen as planned. I still hadn't contacted my mum since that day to explain what happened. I wouldn't know what to say anyway even if I did talk to her.

The ringing of my phone snapped me out of my daze. I reached into my suit pocket and pulled out my new iPhone 7. It said 'Mum'.

"Hello?" I held it to ears and mentally tried to phrase what I would say to her.

"Hello, Song Yerin." The dreaded voice of Yun came through the phone, immediately grabbing all my attention.

"...Why are you calling me? How did you get my Mum's phone?"

There was some shuffling noise on the other side and then my mum's voice came through. "Yerin? Yerin, is that y-"

"I have you mother," Yun cut off my Mum and said. "If you don't want anything to happen to her, then come to my apartment. Alone."

"You...You kidnapped my Mum?"

"No... I'm just welcoming her for a bit longer that she'd like to stay. Song Yerin, I'm giving you an hour. If you don't turn up by then don't blame me for what happens to Miss Jung. Remember, if you don't come alone or if you tell anyone, there will be consequences."

I stared at my phone after the conversation ended. Yun was using my mother to force me to go see him? Somehow this reminded me of something... Twilight. However, I was not Bella. I was not dumb enough to actually comply with the wishes of the kidnapper.

With that resolve, I immediately ran into Yoongi's office, not even caring that another man was in there. There was both evidently surprised by my sudden entrance.

"Yoongi!" I said, stopping in front of his desk and trying to catch my breath, "Something very important just came up. I need to talk to you."

Yoongi understood it. He nodded for that man to leave the office and when she did, Yoongi turned his attention to me and said, "What is it?"

"Yun just kidnapped my mum and threaten to harm her if I don't go to his apartment alone!" I blurted out.

Yoongi let out a surprised chuckle, "Wow, a police-gone-rogue huh?"

"He told me not to tell anyone, but obviously I'm not going to do that," I said. "So what do I do?"

"What does he want?" Yoongi thought out loud.

"Maybe...Maybe he still suspects me as the Busan Killer," I suggested.

"Hm, maybe. We have to deal with this very carefully. Otherwise, it can easily turn ugly."

"Where's Jimin?" I asked.

"He's just three floors down below. And Jungkook is out on an assassination," Yoongi replied.

I thought about this. Yun had previously stated that he knew the girl currently convicted of the crimes was not actually the Busan Killer. I could not get Jimin to go with me again because that would just put Jimin in too much danger as it might cause Yun to start suspecting Jimin. I would not drag Jimin into the pit again.

"So...Should I go?" I muttered.

"You should go...if you value your mother's life."

"If?" I realised what Yoongi was hinting at. "You mean...I can just not go...and let her die?"

Yoongi shrugged, "You don't seem to care for her much from what I've seen, so ignoring Yun is always an option."

I looked down at the desk in contemplation. I shook my head after a moment. "No, I have to go. She is my mother after all."

Yoongi raised a brow. "I'm surprised."

"Why?"

"Seeing how you said you don't care what I do with your brother, I didn't put you down as a family person."

"I don't know what came over me when I said that. I guess I just hated him for shooting Jimin."

Yoongi raised his wrist and looked at his Rolex. "You should go now then. I know you will do what you have to. I will sort something out for you soon."

I nodded and ran back to my office to grab my bag. I borrowed Yoongi's private lift to go to the ground floor and got a taxi to Yun's apartment.

As soon as I stepped out of the taxi in front of that apartment building, I felt chills running through me. I knew I had to deal with this very well, or I might put everyone's life and future at stake. I took a deep breath and walked up the stairs. I knocked on the metal door twice and waited.

As expected, Yun opened it. With a smile on his face, he greeted me, "Welcome, Yerin. Your mother is waiting."

I pushed past him into his apartment. However, there was not a trace of anyone else inside.

"She's not waiting here," Yun said, "I will take you to where she really is."

"Where is she?" I shouted. "What do you want?"

"Shh," Yun put a finger to his mouth, "Everything will become clear if you came with me."

"No, tell me what you want first," I stated firmly.

"Alright." Yun paced closer to me. "I know that boyfriend of yours is the Busan Killer."

Shit, he knew after all? I tried to hide my shock. "No, what are you talking about?"

"Don't pretend to be stupid, Yerin," he said. "I have evidence."

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"Sure. Whatever you say. I don't believe it." He turned and walked towards the door. "Yerin, come with me, and I will bring you to your mother."

I hesitated, but decided to follow him. I trusted Yoongi's decision. I wrapped my fingers around the J pendant.

Jimin, I promise I will deal with this well. I absolutely will not let you fall into the hands of Yun.
