CHAPTER SEVEN
YUTA woke up, sweating and breathing hard. It was night, and he could just feel the presence of the full moon. He looks beside him to see a small body sleeping, and he backs away quickly. He grunts as he closes his eyes, clutching his heart as it feels a burn rush through it. He gives a low growl as he takes off his shirt, throwing it in front of him as he feels heat rise through his body. He backs himself into a wall, trying to find something to lean on for support.
Sicheng slowly stirs, hearing the noises beside him. He slowly opens his eyes, and turns around to see Yuta's state. His eyes widen in shock as he scrambles into the farthest corner, which wasn't very far away. It was a small prison cell after all, no bed, no bathroom, and no window.
"Yuta—" Sicheng tries to speak, but is quickly silenced by a growl. He then hears guards running down the hallway, and panics as he huddles in the corner. Loud bangs on the door can be heard from the other side.
"Hey! Shut up in there!" A guard yells, and Sicheng watches as Yuta's eyes flash red.
It seemed to be anger, but Sicheng didn't know. Another growl was heard and the doors were finally open. Sicheng watched in horror for a split second as 3 guards crowded the room. They all went straight towards Yuta, and Sicheng panicked.
"Stop!" He yelled, jumping on them and trying to get them to leave Yuta alone.
"Get off me you bastard!" A guard yelled, and grabbed Sicheng as he threw him to the floor.
Sicheng cried out in pain as his back hit the concrete floor. His head also hit the floor, and he swore he saw stars for a split second.
"He's bleeding! The boss is gonna kill you!" A guard yells, but in Sicheng's ears it seems muffled. His vision is blurry, and it's hard to find the muscles to move his body.
"Take him, we can throw him outside. Well just say he ate him, hurry up!" A guard yells, and Sicheng feels arms dragging him out of the cell.
All the sudden it's bright, and all he can see is flicker of lights every time he passes them. He gives a small groan at the pounding pain in his head.
"Shut up!" A guard whisper yells at him, but Sicheng doesn't care.
He feels himself go unconscious, slowly he closes his eyes as he lets his body go limp.
In that moment, a shrilling scream pierces the air. The dragging of his body stops, and Sicheng opens his eyes as much as he can to see why.
"What the hell was that?" A guard asks beside him.
"I don't know, be on guard." The other says.
Sicheng feels his body let go of, and as it hits the floor he gives a pained grunt. His head felt like it was going to explode from the pain, and out of the corner of his eye he sees blood run down his temple. Everything seems so slow as he now feels the warm liquid slide down his cheek to his ear.
He then hears a loud roar, almost vibrating through the floor beneath him. It was horrifying to hear, and even Sicheng jolted in fear. He couldn't do anything though, all he could see was a ceiling light above him. He felt to heavy headed to try and stand, and his legs felt jelly anyway.
He then closes his heavy eyes, his breathing light as he lets himself fall unconscious. The last thing he heard were guns being shot, and screams. Such terrifying screams it scared him to the bone as he faded into a lost dream.
A monster is what Yuta calls himself when he looks like he does now. He is giant, much bigger than a human. His tough skin feels like snake skin, and his eyes are red with anger. He has horns, and bat wings that would take him high if he let them. His tail wasn't that long, but dragged across the floor when he walked. His teeth were razor sharp, in a any defense of a shark he'd win. He walks on four legs, and you'd honestly get him mixed with a lizard.
He looks to his side, watching as the last of blood gash from a mortal. He growls as he steps out of the small cell that can barely hold him anymore, and bares his teeth upon seeing two guards. Their guns shaking in their hands as they see him. His eyes travel down, to see a petite boy lying on the ground. Blood was down his temple, and he could see the drops of blood where they dragged him.
He roars as he runs towards them, and their guns shoot with puny fire. His attack wipes out the both of them in a split second, and he licks the blood on his teeth. He then looks down at the boy below him, eyes closed, bloody head, lifeless body.
The demon simply leans down slowly, and sniffs him. The vanilla and lavender scent hit his senses almost immediately, and he huffs as he licks the others face.
"Yuta..." a soft voice his heard and the said demon's name makes his ears perk up.
The demon looks down to see hands trying to grasp onto him, and snuggles closer for more access. The boy is merely awake, but the grasp on his top skin is secure.
A sudden alarm goes off, and before he can react he sees the two open walls beside him being closed by large metal ones. He quickly heaves the boy on top of him, and runs to escape. He gets there just in time to slide between the metal, and he pants to let smoke come out of his nostrils.
He starts running again, this time determined to just get him and his soulmate out of the place. He keeps running, running past guards who are to easily knocked over and pushed past. Their lousy aim fails them with this guns as well.
"Stop that demon!" A man yells, and Yuta recognizes him almost immediately.
He growls in anger as he charges straight for him, and the mans eyes challenge him as he squints them.
"I suggest you surrender now you filthy demon!" The man yells, and Yuta slowly stops as he looks around. Spotting many scared looking people holding guns.
He only gives a ferocious roar as he charges him again. The man doesn't move from his spot, but only smirks.
"Fire!" He yells.
Yuta's eyes widen at this the slightest, but he quickly dives down and covers Sicheng with his wings. He covers his own face with his arms. Nothing can get through his rough skin, and he knows this for a fact. Not even a bullet.
He feels multiple small stings occur over his body, knowing that bullets and bombs are being aimed at him. He's never felt so angered in his life. He slowly wraps his wings around the others body, hollowing it as he gets ready to charge at full speed through the whole building.
Yuta roars once again as he raises his head, shaking the room their in. The guns fire collide with his face, and he is quick to attack the owners. His tail collides with their faces, sending them into the wall.
Sicheng has jolted awake by now, his conscious coming back. He can now see again, but it seems to be pitch black. All he can see is bat wing type skin above him, and he's confused for a moment. That is until he is jerked to the left, and he realizes he's on top of Yuta.
He quickly gathers himself and gets onto his knees, he tries to stable himself but shakes as Yuta is jerking around every second it seems like. He then has no choice and sees the slightest opening from his wings, and he quickly slips himself out. He lands roughly on his side, and grunts. He then looks up to see his surroundings.
The sight before him is horrifying.
There's blood everywhere, and screams drown the entire room. He snaps out of it when Yuta almost steps back into him, and he is quick to dodge it as he rolls away. He then looks up, and spots the expensive looking man.
It was his fault this all happened.
Sicheng sees a gun on the floor, and looks at it as he looks back at the other. The other somewhat curses under his breath as Sicheng sees, and takes off running out of the door behind him. Sicheng stands up almost immediately, following after, but not before grabbing the gun on the ground.
Rushing through the door, he runs after the shadow in the hallways. He tries to shoot at him, but running he has no good aim. He runs faster, hoping to tackle the other before he escapes. Sicheng sees another door, and the man almost gets through it. Before he could, Sicheng stops in his tracks as he raises his gun. He shoots, and the bullet hits the mans leg causing him to cry out in pain.
Sicheng is surprised when the man doesn't collapse almost immediately, instead he keeps running. Limping on his left leg now. Sicheng runs after him, now having an advantage.
"Stop!" The man yells, and turns around as he falls to the grind.
A gun is now pointed at Sicheng, and he freezes in his tracks. He pants heavily, holding the gun in his hand tightly.
"I should've killed both of you. You freaks!" The man yells.
Sicheng doesn't dare to speak, as a gun is pointed straight at him. He then feels his hands somewhat get hot, and his heart beats with anticipation. He feels weird all the sudden, as if his body could feel the room temperature.
"What are you doing! What are you!" The man yells in terror as he stares at the other.
Sicheng is beyond confused, and furrows his eyebrows. He wasn't doing anything, what is the man seeing that he isn't. Sicheng then looks to his right, and his eyes widen as the glass wall before him shows what the man is seeing.
Sicheng had yellow eyes, and yellow markings on his face that looked like scratch marks on his cheeks. His breath went hallow, and he couldn't stop staring at himself.
What had he'd become.
"Die you demon bastard!" The man yelled, and a bullet was shot straight towards Sicheng's heart.
Sicheng didn't have time to prepare himself, but all he felt was a small pinch. He had his eyes closed in instinct, but slowly opened them as he didn't feel severe pain rush through his body. He then looked at the man, whose face was full of terror and complete shock.
He shakily looked down slowly, and there on the floor, lay the bullet.
"What is this! What are you!" The man yelled, and Sicheng didn't have time to answer as a crash was heard from beyond the hall.
Sicheng looked behind him, and there he saw the demon walk dangerously slowly around the corner. Sicheng saw bloody teeth, and claws. It was a horrifying sight for him to even see.
"Oh god, please, please! Tell him to not kill me!" The man cried in terror, trying to run but failing as his leg was already loss of blood. "You fools! You fools!"
The demon walked right past Sicheng, and Sicheng froze as he smelled his scent. He didn't even know he could do such thing.
The next moment, a shrilling scream was heard. Sicheng new the man was dead, and he heard a low growl come from behind him. He could then feel hot breaths behind him, and he slowly turned around. Looking up to see the demon, he felt his heart soften.
"It's time to go home." Sicheng whispered, shakily raising a bloody hand to touch the demons face.
The demons eyes stared at him, the red orbs taking him in. Sicheng could see Yuta behind them, so pained, and so tired.
Sicheng didn't waste another second before climbing into the demons back, and leaning close to the demons ears.
"Take us home." Sicheng whispered, and it didn't take long for them to go on full speed out of the building.
Before they could leave, Sicheng held up his gun as he undid the works. He then poured the gunpowder into his hand, and threw it behind him. The fire that Yuta created caught onto it, and it then began to spark.
The whole place was up in flames before they left completely, and Sicheng watched it fell apart. No evidence or trace of them left behind.
He then looked ahead, and that's when the darkness of night became light. In his eyes, the world around him lit up. He wasn't shocked, but the slightest scared.
He wasn't human, and he knew this for a face by what he saw in the mirror. He remembers his yellow eyes, the markings. He was confused, but for now he'll keep quiet until his Yuta comes back to him in the sunrise.
Sicheng then leaned down onto the firm back, and clutched at it tightly.
Yuta and him shall never be the same, and shall never live the same. Sicheng must embrace this, and for now he will.
For now, he'll live his days knowing that he is not mortal, but a mere shadow of a demon.
