Nathan's P. O. V

      "Ohhhh, my gosh. Andre don't you know I hate been woken up from sleep",I groaned as I rubbed my eyes.

     I kept hearing the knock on my door so I angrily stood up and walked up to the door and cursing whoever interrupted my sleep. When the door was opened I saw Mae standing an inch away from me, wearing a red jumpsuit  with gladiators and a small bag hunged on her shoulders.

    " Surprised? Well I promised to come around, didn't I??", she smiled.

    "Well come in.", I said as I opened the door wider for her to get....which she did.

     " Well, I am not that surprised you know ",I told her as I sat on the couch.

    " Sit ",I said and she obeyed.

    " Thanks, I actually thought you will slam the door on me.",she looked at me.

     "Well I would have but I am not that heartless", I rested on the couch properly.

     " So are you tutoring me or what??",I asked.

     "Well no, I just wanted to leave the house. ", she sounded sad.

      " And why is that?",I asked as curiosity filled me.

      "Can you keep a secret?", she asked as she stared at the ground.

     " Yea, I can.",I answered as I awaited her response.

    She took a deep breath and hesitated a little before speaking, "My ma, my ma is missing.".

     Her voice sounded normal. Is it just me or this girl or any member of her family don't show emotions.  

      " Since when?",I asked her.

     "Friday......it feels lonely without her. The house seems different without her. I have never been away from my mother since I was little..... Its just killing me that I am at home, eating, sleeping and having fun with my family when my world is no where to be found. Its just too much.", she ended.

     I looked into her eyes and I understood what she's going through. When my mom died everything changed and this house felt empty, so I can relate. Its painful, frustrating and unimaginable especially when you can do nothing to help bring her back.

     " Have you reported to the cops?",I asked her.

    "I can't, humans can't understand things that concerns us. They have their limit, they are non-gifted remember.", she explained as she sank into the sofa.

    " True but don't you have a relative who can help?",I asked.

     "I do but we lost connection when we moved here.", she responded.

     " Aaaaarrrrggggghhhh, its so frustrating, I can't do anything to help my ma. If it was the other way around my ma would do anything and everything she could, just to find me and make sure I am safe.",she stood up and paced round the living room.

     "So what's stopping you, then??", I asked.

    " Huh????",she sounded confused.

    "I mean since you care about your mom like you claim, what's stopping you from saving or finding her?. If you need my help just let me know, I will happy to.Atleast you know she's still alive and is kicking, so do something. You are smart enough and powerful, I suppose. With the help of your family you will find her faster, instead sitting and feeling sorry.", I said.

    " You are right but exam starts soon.",she explained.

    I stood up and walked up to where she stood,"Why do you care? I mean you are intelligent after, you can write it now and I can help you out, that's if you don't mind.",I asked.

   "No, I don't. Thanks Nate.", she hugged me and pulled away.

    " That's what, Frenemies do.",I said and we both laughed.

    "Frenemies", she stretched forth her hands.

    " Frenemies",I shaked them.

    "So are you excited at Christine's birthday party coming up in a few days.", she asked as she sat down back on the sofa.

     " Party?",I asked. I had no idea she was throwing a party because I wasn't invited.

    "Yeah, you weren't invited?", she asked.

    " Nope. ",I said.

    " I officially invite you then.....she asked me to invite anyone I dime fit to invite and since you look miserable I decided to pity you.",she said as she searched her bag for something. She brought out what seems like an envelope and dropped it on the center table.

     "You won't be allowed in without this. See you there, Nate. Bye.", she stood up and left.

    I picked up the envelope and opened it, it was a V. V. I. P ticket. I held the ticket and a smile appeared on my face.
   She just keeps surprising me.
