Mae's P. O. V

      "Ma, can I have a word with you?",I asked as I held her arm on her way to Jay's room.

    "Not now, honey",she said and I held onto her hand firmly.

    "Let go of me, Mae. I said not now ",she shaked my hand off her. She began to walk away.

     "What did you say to Nathan? He hasn't been picking my calls.",I asked and she halted.

    She spurned and stared at me,"Noth-"

    "Please ma, I need to know. I have been calling his line for days now. He is not at home either. His Aunt and Uncle said he hasn't been home for a while now. Please ma, he is my happiness ",I begged.

     "I told him what he always wanted to hear. Nothing else. I didn't tell him what you thought I told him.",my mom said and I chuckled.

       "Really? So why is he avoiding me like a plague then?",I asked.

    "Baby listen-"

    I knelt down and held her hand as tears rolled down my cheeks. My mom stood in shock as her eyes widened. She has never seen me this way and I know but that is what love does to you.

    Ever since he left my house, he hasn't picked my calls or replied my text. I can't stood wondering what my ma told him. Did he beg him to stay away from him? Or does he involve his mom? Or does he realize how messed up my family is and then left? I don't blame him if he doesn't stay because bad things follows us, that's what you gets for been the strongest person alive and been the grand children of a god. I am worried sick about him. I can't trace his smell, it is like he doesn't want to be found but I really want to find him or else I will lose my mind.

          "Don't make him stay away from me, ma. I know our kinds differs but ma, I am head over heels for him. I won't bear to stay away from him. I love him and I need your consent because you are all we have. Please ma", I begged and my ma frowned her face in confusion.

     "We can't be with them dear. We will only get hurt. The world won't stand for it, they will try to ruin your union-"

    "I don't care about the world ma. We are demonites, we don't give a shit about the world. We ought to pursue our happiness and my happiness lies with Nat-"

      "He will leave you behind just like your dad did",my ma blurted out and I felt my blood boil just at the mention of his name. I stood up and tightened my fist.

     "He isn't like him okay. He didn't deserve you, you deserve better. Nathan loves me and will never leave me. He cares about me just as much as I care about him. Dont compare my Nathan to Late Light MCallister. They are different and he is not my dad. As far as I am concerned, my dad died the moment he sent you that letter and left you when you were pregnant-"

    "How did you know?", my ma asked as her eyes widened in shock.

     "I see your pain, I feel your hurt ma. A day doesn't go by that you don't think of him and how things would have gone differently. He is heartless to have left a pregnant woman to be humiliated and used as caricature. He made the people of Demonia see us as outcast. They only tolerated us because grandfather is a god. But deep down.....deep down I k-knew the-..."I stopped as tears streamed down my cheeks.

    "I knew they hated us. If they could banish us they could because of him. Jay bottled his emotions and became the way he is because of him. Jay is the way he is because he is always in constant pain, no fatherly love so he jokes alot to cover his pain. And you mother, you never dated again because you were scared they will leave you just like dad did. And I, I secretly hope he would show up when I was younger and tell me how much he loves us and how sorry he is to have left us but no, I was stupid then. So yes,they are different. Light McCallister is cruel, heartless, self centered and corny but Nathan John is sweet, romantic, considerate and understanding. He was heartless earlier but that was because of his dad and his families death. Fathers are under-rated.",I wiped the tears that were on my cheeks.

      "Bab-"
    
    "Mae-",Kelvin stopped and looked at me and then at ma and coughed.

    "I hope I didn't interrupt anything. ",Kelvin said and I nodded.

    "What did you want to tell me?",I walked to him and dragged him away from the hallway. I heard voices from downstairs like two people were arguing.

   "What is going on downstairs?",I asked

    "That's what I came to tell you. Red and Rita are in a heated argument.",Kelvin informed me.

   I ran downstairs and saw Red with a knife in the kitchen while Rita held no weapon. Rita was yelling as she demonstrated with her hands while Red just chuckled and acted like she didn't care. It seemed Red and Miles were cooking before Rita came to meet them. It must be really serious for Rita to have the gut to yell at Red.

     "I don't give a shit about what you do with your life okay-"

   "I am done trying to right the wrongs I committed. And I am also done putting your happiness above mine. Because you will never appreciate it, yes, I dated your ex but you aren't a saint either but you don't see anyone complaining about it",Rita ended.

    "Don't even go there. Leave for God sake, no one cares about your whereabout. But if you make me look bad again, you will live to regret it.",Red warned and Rita laughed and stood in front of her.

     "Do your worst or is that just an empty threat?",Rita said to her face and Peter ran to their middle.

    "Enough you both, enough.",he yelled.

    "You are lucky this time ",Red murmured.

    "We are so done, I never want to have anything to do with you because I have been taken for granted for far to long.",Rita said and left for her room.

   Great, can this day get any better?
 
    My phone beeped and when I looked at it, it was a text from Nathan.

     It said, "Meet me at the roof of the school now".
