To your chagrin, you found out that the demons at the adoption center started behaving extremely well. It's been a month since you gave them all pictures and, you've been visiting them and they changed a lot. They were much sweeter, allowed touch way more, and, even ate from your hands and allowed you to pet them. You didn't like hand-feeding them because you didn't want to belittle them but, the way they would make content noises and, leaned into you suggested otherwise. You talked to Avery and Julicia about the whole thing and, the three of you came up with the idea to foster demons.
"Y/N, I think you should be in charge of this. You are amazing at finding, helping, and loving demons. You're the sweetest one out of all of us and, you're so genuine. You really care about all of them, even the meanest ones." You smiled at Julicia. Somewhere in the last month Julicia and Avery finally stopped dancing around each other and, started dating. You were very happy about them dating. They were cute together.
"Also, you have plenty of experience with your family. They haven't met your parents and siblings have they?" You smiled at Avery shaking your head. Truth be told your parents and siblings have wanted to meet them but, you were just scared. You didn't want them to get the wrong idea or maybe you were just overthinking.
"I think your babies would be rather surprised but, accepting that your dad and your siblings are demons." You thought about what Julicia said. It was true. Only the two in front of you knew about your mixed family. Yes, your dad is your biological dad but, you came out more human than your actual siblings. However, you grew up in an area of Japan where demons were treated as equals, allowed to work, go to school, rent apartments, and actually become a part of society. You lived in a city where none of that wasn't allowed. Demons were pets and, strictly pets. It made your stomach turn thinking about your dad and siblings. The only way they can come over here was if they were leashed. It made you want to cry and vomit at the same time.
"I wouldn't want my father and siblings on leashes. It doesn't look right or sit right with me. Before you say it, I can't move there because I need the right amount of space to bring everyone with me. I need to also." At the same time, you definitely wanted to foster demons and, keep adopting but, there just wasn't space here. Plus, that would be asking too much for Julicia and Avery to move as well. You wanted both of them to be with you.
"I think with your ideas and, the way you keep adopting demons you're going to need more space. Yes, buying a mansion would be nice since you want to continue living here however, you would want your babies to have more space and, a better quality of life." That was true. You wanted to see them be treated better, they deserved better. They deserved to be happy.
"Okay, so, maybe they should meet my family first and, see how that works?" You felt like everything was going a little too fast and, you were getting ahead of yourself. Well, that's what you've been doing this whole time and it's worked.
"I think that would be perfect. See, if you can get them to come." Well, that won't be difficult considering they've been dying to come and meet your demon friends. The three of you talked some more before hanging up on your three-way video call. You enjoyed talking to them a lot and, the girl at the adoption center was really sweet too. You didn't open up too much to her because you're unsure how or where she truly stands when treating demons the way they deserve to be treated. She was on thin ice but, you'll be nice because you wanted those 5 demons they had.
"Y/N-mama!" You turned to Daki who started referring to you as Y/N mama which was really cute and, you didn't have the heart to stop her. "Who was that you were talking to? Was it Avery and Julicia? I wanted to say hi to them." She was really excitable and, you were glad that she no longer hid how she was. She was playful, whined, and acted exactly the way a kid is supposed to act. She was only 13 and Gyutaro was 19. You know all the demon's ages. Tengen is 23, Makio 20, Hinatsuru 21, Suma 20, Kyojuro 20, Senjuro 14, Michikatsu and Yoriichi 25. Yuichuiro and Muichurio 14, Mitsuri 20, Obanai 21, Muzan 25, Enmu 19, Akaza 23, Doma 23, Sanemi 22, Genya 19, and the other siblings ranged in age. It was a lot.
"Daki sweetie, how would you guys feel about meeting my parents?" It was a ball you just dropped and her face morphed into something before she screamed excitedly.
"We can meet your mama and papa?! Do you have siblings? When are they coming?" That was not the response you were expecting at all from her and, you looked at all your other demons who were all in the living room including the two sets of twins from the other apartment.
"You're family? Are they..." Gyutaro went quiet and flinched at the way all the attention was on him. You gently placed your hand on his head to smooth his hair back. He had it down and, not in its usual ponytail. It was nice.
"My family are demons." That had all of their heads popping up looking at you as if you grew two heads. "Yes, I was...nervous about telling you guys. My family knows about all of you including your friends that live with Avery and Julicia. They want to meet you but, I don't want my dad and siblings on leashes. They live in a part of Japan where demons are treated as equals. My siblings have never been leashed. My dad has but, not my siblings. My dad is a full demon and my mom is like a third of a demon and, I was the only one of her children that came out human. Which I don't mind. I love my family regardless." You really did. You kept it a secret because you didn't want anyone jeopardizing your family. They were happy where they were.
"Is it okay for them to come today?" Surprised that they suggested seeing them that soon you had to call them and, see what they can do. You weren't sure of their work schedules.
"I will call them and, see what they say." You weren't going to make any promises as you phoned your mom. It didn't matter whose phone you called because they were always together. A few rings and, your mom answered.
"Hi, my baby! How are you? How's everything? Tell me!"
The two of you talked a bit catching up and, that's when you dropped the bomb.
"Okay, mama, I told my demon friends about you and Dad...yeah, yes they know...they wanted to know if you guys can..." You had to pull the phone away from your ear at the screech she just let out. From your peripherals, you saw Tengen wince. "Today? Really? ALL OF YOU ARE COMING TODAY!" The two of you talked for a few more and by the time you got off the phone you were exhausted. In a good way though. You should have known they would do their best to come as soon as possible because that is just the kind of people that they are. They do everything in a rush.
"...So, they're coming today?" You nodded exasperatedly at all of them who looked both excited and concerned.
"Yes, they are coming. They would probably be here in an hour or two. You guys don't have to do anything special. You guys can be yourself, you don't have to worry about fitting into a mold to please them. They would like it if you're being yourself. My dad especially since he understands your circumstances from the past on a personal level." You watched all of them formulate some sort of understanding. "I'm going to go shower, eat and relax before they come. My siblings are extremely excitable. I asked my parents to explain to them how different you guys grew up. Hopefully, they won't push your boundaries and, if they do I'll stop them or you can stop them yourself." With that said you disappeared to your room to prepare yourself for the family. You really hope everything goes smoothly. While you were in the room your demon friends started talking amongst each other.
"I wish the others were here. It would be nice for all of us to meet her family." Makio was talking to everyone in the room. She was both nervous and excited about meeting her owner's family but, it would be nice for the others to meet them as well.
"I think she doesn't want it to be overwhelming. Besides, they live with Avery and Julicia. Maybe if everything goes well with us then she will introduce them to the others." Tengen said this and they knew how often Y/N went to Avery and Julicia to get along with the other demons. Based on their voices and how Julicia and Avery reacted and, talked they loved it. They never knew it was possible for one person to be as amazing as Y/N was.
"I don't want to upset her or disappoint her." That was Yuichiro who spoke. She was the sweetest human he has ever met. She was an angel to him, all of them he would bet and, the last thing he would want to do is upset the very people who matter so much to her.
"All we can do is our best." That was Yoriichi and, they all agreed as they tried pre-occupying themselves until Y/N, their owner, family came over. They had high hopes since Y/N was an angel and, she came from a family of demons but, the nerves didn't truly settle.
--------------------------------------------
"I'll be back, I'm going to let them in." They were already at the door as you buzzed them into the building and, they already knew what floor you lived on the works. You haven't seen them in months except for over-face-calls and, it would be nice to see them in person finally. When the bell rang you opened the door and, were bombarded by a flurry of limbs. Damn, siblings.
"Y/N!" You were manhandled into someone's arms.
"NEE-SAN!" Your sister snatched you from your brother to hug you.
"I MISSED YOU!" You were squished into a group hug this time.
You didn't have time to process your parents coming in and locking the door just the fact that you were being suffocated by your siblings who in their excitement forgot their strength. You didn't mind it though. It made you feel good that at times they treated you roughly the way they treated each other. When you finally separated to your chagrin they were taller than you. You were the oldest of six and, the five of them were taller than you. Whatever. You can blame your dad, that behemoth of a man, for their stature.
"Let me at her." Your siblings moved so your dad can grab you up in a bear hug. He was a bear. Huge man. Comfy and sweet though. This is why you had 12-foot-tall ceilings. You felt hands on you and you were lowered back to the ground to get engulfed by your mother.
"Oh, my baby! I love you so much! I'm so happy to see you. Where are your friends?" You pointed behind them and, they all looked to see your demon friends were sitting clustered together painfully shy. You didn't like how reclusive they got but, thankfully your rambunctious family got the hint and, sat down to be at eye level with all of them and some space between them. Well, as eye level as your dad can get. He is '7"8 which is normal for demons where they live but, not here. The demons here were severely malnourished and abused throughout childhood which stunted their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. Demons technically are meant to be tall, big, and stocky but, unfortunately, humans stopped them.
"Hi, I'm sorry for making you nervous. That's how we always act and, got a little carried away." Your mom apologized on their behalf as they all bowed before sitting straight back up. You can see the shift in how they changed and, of course, Daki and Hinatsuru were the first ones to come forward and, introduce themselves.
"Hi, I'm Daki." She was rocking side to side with her hands behind her back as she peered up at all of them. Despite how nervous or scared she may be she was always the bravest when it came to introducing herself. You remembered how she latched onto you when you first got her and the others. Your mom looked like she wanted to squeeze her and Daki must have sensed it because she walked right up to her with open arms. Your mom wasted no time squeezing her in a hug.
"You're so cute and precious." You watched in contentment and, turned to Gyutaro who looked both uncomfortable and relieved.
"My name is Hinatsuru." You thought she was going to introduce her spouses but, all she did was glance over at them urging them to come over here. She was nervous and brave. Thankfully your siblings and dad didn't comment on it.
"My name is Kane and, I'm the second oldest. These are our siblings in order from oldest to youngest. Yua, Ashihiko, Ichika and, Haru. It's nice to meet all of you." He bowed slightly to all of them with a grin. He was very playful but, was toning down his personality because he didn't want to scare them. You had informed them how they had a harsh life before you and, how the rules were here so they knew what to do.
"I'm their dad Itsuki Fujimoto and my beautiful wife aka their mother Aina Fujimoto." Your mom had let Daki go who was content in staying in her lap as she waved to all of them.
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you. My baby Y/N is always talking about how much she loves you guys but, I noticed a lot of you are missing." She turned to you now to ask a question. "The others that you showed us live with Avery and Julicia right?" You nodded your head in the affirmative.
"Yes, they do. You can meet them EVENTUALLY" You said eventually louder because your mom was a bleeding heart and, would want to see them now. "I do not wish to overwhelm them." That was part of the truth, also you wanted to get to know them more before you introduced your family to them.
"That's totally fine dear. I understand." You watched now as your demon friends eventually warmed up to your family and, you watched from afar how they all talked and, got together. Gyutaro was the only one who wasn't interacting much and, that was a surprise because you expected Michikatsu to be the antisocial one. You slithered your way to Gyutaro to try and, figure out what was the matter.
"'Taro." You called him a nickname and, he turned to you leaning into your touch. He seemed stressed and, in turn, made you a bit stressed. This was supposed to be a nice time and, you wanted everyone to interact. "What's the matter, darling?"
"I'm just...a little nervous." You can understand that. This was a lot to take in especially for Gyutaro since he was used to being cast aside and, no one paying him any attention. It went from one person to a few to now a whole room. It was overwhelming and over-stimulating for him. You sidled up next to him pulling him into a hug that he melted into.
"It's okay to be nervous. It's a lot to take in and my family will not be offended. They understand especially my dad. He understands better than anyone. If you do not want to talk to him yet, try talking to Haru. He is really sweet even if he likes to act tough. Try complimenting him on his horns, I saw you looking at them." You gave him a gentle smile as he tried hiding how flustered he was. It was cute. "Go ahead, I will be here. If it is still too much you can go to your room or you can come back and stay with me." You encouraged him gently watching excitedly as he approached Haru who you knew heard you guys talking but, pretended he didn't. He welcomed Gyutaro with open arms and, you watched pleased as everyone got along. This is what you wanted. This was love. This was peace.
