Chapter 2: Fire Fire Everywhere

The warm breeze tickled against Ace's skin as he yawned looking around the yard. The way the trees and shed looked in the background look almost, brand new.

Last time he checked the shed was broken and worn away by time? What is going on here. He turned towards his best friend who laid in the grass sleeping, quiet snores being released.

Ace sighed and laid back staring back towards the white and blue sky. Clouds blocking out the sun from direct contact with him as the wind made the fluffy balls of condensed water glide across the sky.

For some reason, he felt, almost broken in a way. Imagine if your friend leaves you to join the bullies that hurt you, how do you feel? Different, Upset, Confused, Betrayed? Well that is what he was feeling, like somebody betrayed him somehow, but who?

Scarlett let out a breathy sigh as she looked around the yard, the memory of last night seemed to vivid, so real.

But was it real? Was it just her mind trying to warn her about something? Was she and or her best friend in danger? Or was it all just a dream she made up?

So many questions bounced around in her head while she remembered the wind pulling her towards the backyard, like a hand pulling an object back.

She turned towards Ace as he continued to sit crosslegged in the dirt, watching the yard, weary and seeming to have an upset state of mind. Tears were in his eyes as he turned towards Scarlett his eyes puffy and swollen from tears.

"What happened last night" his breath was horse like he had not had any water for days.
His hair was flying up in every direction as his clothes seemed charred and ripped. It almost looked like he got struck by..., lightning! That's it! 'Whatever must have happened last night was real!'

Scarlett smiled a toothy smile as her brain continued to wrap around the facts of what happened last night.

But one question at this moment is unanswered in her jumble of question. One answer that just might as well change everything.

"Ace, what do you believe happened last night?"

Ace rubbed his head, confused about her answer as his brain rattled and throbbed. He hissed in pain, collapsing onto the grass filled back yard.

Scarlett's eyes widened as she dove to catch Ace as he seemed to shake, like someone being shocked by lightning, it must be the effect of being struck by thousands of volts that lurk in lightning.

"Are you okay" she asked cautiously, afraid that he would hurt him more by moving a single inch.

Well let's just go over the odds.

First, a storm somehow materializes when Ace wakes up.

The news channel didn't even know this storm exsisted.

Then we get struck by lightning during a freakish storm that could have torn this house apart, but it somehow actually made it cleaner and more new. How is that even remotely possible, it defies any law in physics.

"It hurts" he whined and held his side as a blue spark shot through his irises and pupils, and let me just say, that was creepy.

She screamed and flopped to the floor, Ace confused at the current situation. "What?" He said shocked, "what happened?"

Her breathing was in a irregular pattern as she looked down at the floor, a tingle shooting through her body. Her eyes widened as her hands emitted a golden glow, it looked like her body was going to self combust any second. The glowing spread through her body like a blanket covering over her unlike anything she has ever seen before.

Ace's eyes widened as her arms started to heat up, every second that passed was only fueling the heat as it crawled up her arms. She screeched in shock as her arms randomly burst into flames, sending her flying to the floor. The grass soon caught the fire that was emitting from her palms and sparked to life, the grass now caught in this man made wild fire.

Ace stared at his best friend in shock, backing away ever so slowly as the fire crept towards him. It was like a snake, slithering its way closer and closer towards the vulnerable child.

That's when something boosted up his courage, making the child jump out of the way almost as fast as light, making a little BOOM, it was actually not as little as he thought because it made his best friend go flying backwards into a tree, making it catch on fire as well.

He glided quickly towards her, not worrying about the fire anymore. His eyes shimmered and was bathed in confidence in what he was doing.

He closed his eyes and grabbed her arm, awaiting the burn of his life, but nothing happened. Only the sound of rushing air was left as he opened his eyes, everything that was once burnt now as good as it was before, along with Scarlett.

"What just happened?"
