Chapter Three
Tyler
I knew the moment she spoke that she wasn't like most girls. She wasn't going to fawn over me and beg to sleep with me. I was going to be the one to do the begging.
So with some quick thinking I had gotten her out of that dump of a dorm and into my Porsche. I hadn't expected her to freak out when I passed ninety, but she had and it left me even more intrigued.
Her rough breathing filled the car. It was almost deafening the way she sucked air in desperately. I had never seen anyone so freaked out in all my life. Was she having a panic attack or something? I had heard about those, but had never experienced one or seen one in action.
I wasn't really sure what to do to make it better so I just stared forward and pretended I didn't hear the rush of breaths coming from her lips or see the way her hands had turned white from gripping the handle above her head. Or even the way her back heaved up and down from her ragged breaths as she put her head between her knees.
Now I had two girls I wouldn't be able to get out of my head and no prospects for getting under them and getting over them. I had never been at a standstill like this. Usually when a girl entered my head, it was easy to bed them and forget them.
All of my normal tricks just weren't working with this girl so I was going to have to pull out the big guns. The shit no woman could turn down.
When we got to the library, I excused myself for a moment and stepped around the corner of a shelf to get a grip and prepare myself for this.
Before I could even finish rehashing my plan in my head I felt the familiar buzz of my phone in my jeans. I couldn't help but to reach in and pull it out.
I knew without even looking it was sad lonely girl. She was on a roll today.

I shoved the phone back into my pocket, and slipped back around the corner. Piper was waiting patiently for me as her eyes scanned a row of books. For a single moment I wondered if she was sad lonely girl, but the absurdity of that had me shaking the thoughts off and I settled my mind back on the task at hand. Of all the places in all the world, sad lonely girl wouldn't be here. Especially since she mentioned Duke. This place was a total garbage bin compared to Duke. Now if I could just get Piper to open up to me a little bit.
"So yeah this is the library. Listen it's late and I'm starving how about I buy you dinner and then we can continue this tour." I said, as I gave her a small smile. I pretended not to notice the flinch at my words.
Was the prospect of being around me so terrible?
"I'm not really into you like that Ty. This isn't a date, this is a tour." She replied quickly.
"No darling I don't do dates. This is me trying to be kind and welcome the new girl at school remember?" That was almost a little too quick. I wonder if she knew I had rehearsed that line about dating for other girls before her. The way she looked at me had me panicked a bit.
"Do you take all the new girls out for dinner?" She asked, skeptical of everything about me.
I didn't blame her, she should be. I was a terrible person. So terrible that my only goal here was to get her in my bed and I didn't care how I was going to do it, just that it got done. I needed to forget her and continue on, and until I slept with her that wasn't going to happen.
"I do not." I replied, tapping my chin in thought. "However I promise this isn't a date. This is just two people having dinner and a conversation."
"Sounds like a date to me." She replied.
Good golly Miss Molly. She is a cocky little thing isn't she? Why does that make her so much hotter? I don't usually like cocky girls, because they challenge me too much. Tyler Scott does not get challenged by a girl, he challenges them.
"Okay no dinner. How about we grab something fast on the way to our next stop? You don't even have to eat, I'm just hungry." I raised an eyebrow at her, challenging her to turn me down again. This was my way of taking back control of the situation.
"Whatever."
That's more like it mouthy girl. The things I could do with that little mouth.
I laughed, thinking so many dirty thoughts about this girl and turned to lead the way back to my car.
We pulled out of the library campus and back onto the main road. I whipped into a Fuddruckers and parked, pausing to ask her once again about food.
"What do you want Piper?" I asked, turning towards her.
"Chicken sandwich. Coke." She said not even bothering to ask what they had here.
"They have burgers here Piper." They probably had a chicken sandwich, but I was trying to be an ass in the nice kind of way. It was a small payback for her attitude.
She flinched, taking a deep breath.
"I don't eat burgers." She said. "Chicken sandwich or nothing."
Who doesn't eat burgers but eats chicken? Weird much?
I got out of the car and walked in the front door, stepping up to the counter to place a to go order.
"I'll have a chicken sandwich with a coke and a bacon patty melt with a coke. Double fry please."
The lady behind the counter quickly wrote my order out and directed me to the small waiting area.
"Twenty six fifty." The lady said, motioning me over as she came back from the kitchen.
I paid her and went back to the waiting area. Within five minutes she had our food ready. That's what I loved about this place. It wasn't technically fast food, but it was fast service.
I hurried back to the car, handing the bag to Piper with a smile.
"See, not a date."
Piper didn't bother to respond, instead she just stared out the window as she dropped a wad of ones in my lap.
I tried to hand Piper her money back, but she just shook her head and refused to take it.
"It's not a date Ty. I can pay for my own food." She said roughly, attitude coming through every word.
"I'm just trying to be nice Piper. I take it you don't understand the concept of nice." I was starting to get a bit frustrated with her. She was impossible. "It's fine, I'll keep the money sweetheart."
Abort mission before she castrates you idiot.
"First of all, I am not your sweetheart. Second, guys like you aren't just nice to girls. You always have an agenda and I won't fall for your charms like you are hoping so just give it up already." She snapped, snatching the coke from my hand. I didn't bother to tell her that it was mine and I had already drank from it.
I smiled as I watched her lips close around the straw and suck up some coke.
"Guys like me? You don't even know me Piper. Every effort I make to change that, you brush off immediately." I said, trying to keep the annoyance from my voice.
"Players. I know your type. I'm not the idiot you think I am Ty." She gave me a fake smile and turned back to look out the window.
I grabbed my meal from the bag and ripped my burger open to take a big bite.
Food. Yes. This will make it all better.
"Where I come from we don't judge people without getting to know them. Apparently you were raised differently. And sweetheart I never said you were an idiot so stop putting words in my mouth." I couldn't keep my annoyance from my voice this time. She was really a little fire cracker and I was starting to get pissed from her suddenly sour mood. Where exactly had this evening gone wrong?
Show a girl some kindness and she acts like a spoilt brat.
"I told you, I'm not your fucking sweetheart." She practically growled at me. I was shocked that such a sound could come from a tiny girl.
"Its just an endearment. Calm down Piper. Did someone piss in your cheerios this morning or what?" I snapped back.
"Something like that." She said as she ate the last of her sandwich. She immediately turned to look back out the window, and every few seconds she popped a fry into her mouth.
I sighed, realizing it was going to take a lot of work to get this girl to even consider looking at me in a nice way. I hated having to work for it. Especially this hard. I sure hoped she was worth it.
I pulled into the parking lot to my left and parked the car.
"This is the mess hall. It's where most people on campus eat." I said as she stepped out of the car and looked up at the large building. "It was one of the first buildings here."
She didn't say anything. So I motioned her back to the car.
"Are you thinking of rushing a sorority? I could show you the best ones." I said.
She rolled her eyes and gave me a blank look.
"Do I look like a sorority girl? Consider your answer carefully before opening that big player mouth."
I didn't understand why she was being so mean to me. I hadn't even given her a reason to yet. But I could. Oh how I could. No one likes that side of me, not even me. I could be a cold harsh son of a bitch if I wanted. Piper was going to see that side if she kept on. She was already on thin ice.
"It was just a question Piper. I will take your answer as a no though. So there's only one more place I can show you besides the quad." I started the engine again and pulled out of the parking lot.
I pointed to a large grassy area between the buildings.
"Thats the quad. Its where most people study or hang out." I said.
She turned and looked out the window, as she pressed her nose against it. I wanted to say something about her smudging my window but I bit my tongue to keep it in. Being a dick wasn't going to get me in her pants.
"So whats the last place?" She asked as she turned back to me.
"Lookout Mountain." I said.
She scoffed and cut her eyes at me.
"Let me guess, you think you're gonna take me to Lookout Mountain and I will make out with you huh? Well you couldn't be more wrong."
Geez she's venomous like a snake. Abort abort abort.
"Actually its where we hike at, but if you wanna make out..." Why did my stupid mouth spew such things? What happened to abort?
"I do not."
I laughed, and a smile forced its way across my face.
"I like to hike. Lookout Mountain has the best trails. I thought you might appreciate that, but I guess I was wrong. I seem to be making a lot of wrong assumptions about you. I apologize."
What the actual fuck? I do not apologize to anyone, especially a female. What the hell has gotten into me? Getting my dick wet is not that important. Apologizing makes me weak and I am not weak. Weakness is failure.
"It's just been a bad day. I'm sorry. I've given you nothing but attitude and it isn't your fault my day has sucked. You have nothing to apologize for." She said after several moments. She stared at me in confusion. "I labelled you without even giving you a chance and its starting to look like I was wrong. You haven't even once propositioned me. So I should be the one saying sorry."
How adorable. God it makes me want her more. But how am I supposed to do it now that she said all that? If I proposition her now she will know her assumptions were correct.
"If you wanna talk about it..." I trailed off with the murderous look she was giving me. "Right."
I turned back to the road and quietly made my way to Lookout Mountain. I parked along the strip and got out, coming around to open her door for her. I even offered her a hand to help her out but she ignored it and got out on her own.
Try to be chivalrous... Get ignored. What's it gonna take with this girl?
She started walking off on her own so I quickly caught up to point her in the direction of the path. If she kept going she was gonna end up at make-out central and think I was lying. I was only half lying. I did come here to hike, because I would rather take a girl back to my penthouse to make out, but I was kind of hoping she would see it and get inspired. That is until she gave me that little speech. Now all I wanted was for her to feel I was worthy enough to even give a chance. Even though I wasn't.
"Piper." I said quickly. She was almost there, just around the corner and she would see the couples getting it on.
She stopped, catching me off guard and I ran right into her. My front pressed against her back and I was having a hard time moving away. I knew I should just step away right then, but her breathing sped up and I knew instantly that deep beneath that mask she wore, I affected her.
"W-what are you doing?" She asked as my hand lifted to lay on her shoulder.
"You're going the wrong way." I whispered. I couldn't seem to form words correctly. She shivered as my breath tickled her neck.
My hand turned her body, so that she was facing me and I looked down into her eyes. I wanted nothing more than to kiss her right then, but something inside me told me to wait. It told me that if I kissed her now I'd get slapped.
"The trails are this way." I said, as I stepped away from her and turned my body back towards the car. "There's nothing interesting that way."
What the fuck are you doing man? This isn't how you do things.
"Oh-okay."
I lead the way, showing her my two favorite trails before escorting her back to the car. We didn't speak of the moment between us earlier, and though I wanted to know exactly what was going through her mind at that point, I didn't push her. This one was going to have to come to me.
For some reason beyond me, I wasn't going to try to force my hand. Something about her was different. Something about me was different when I was around her. I still thought my horrid thoughts, but my actions were very different. I didn't understand it one bit, and honestly it scared me a little.
Piper made me feel vulnerable, in a way I hadn't in a long time. She scared the life out of me, but I still found myself wanting to bed her. Wanting to run my hands along her silky tan skin as I pleasured her to no end. For once in my life, it wasn't about me getting off. It was about her getting off, as many times as I could make her.
And that is what scared me the most.
