Chapter 24
As I waited for Kakashi at the gates, a messenger bird told me to go to the Hokage. I sighed sadly and disappeared to go see her. It was probably for a mission, but still. Kakashi was supposed to be back sometime today and I wanted to see him!
"Yes Lady Tsunade?" I muttered and bowed my head down slightly in respect. She waved for me to raise my head.
"No need to be formal. Soon Naruto and Sakura will arrive. You are to scout out Sasuke." My eyes widened. I thought I'd have to request to be sent out but this was perfect. I'm sorry Kakashi, but this was better than saying hi to you. "If you can, avoid fighting him." I scoffed, cutting her off from her sentence and she narrowed her eyes at me.
"Yeah right! I'm going to kick his sorry butt and drag him back!" I insisted and she merely smiled.
"I was going to say, avoid fighting him because of Naruto. If we can avoid him turning to the Nine Tails for help, then that'd be great. That's why you're going to be the captian, so you can stop Naruto but stop Sasuke also. If I'm right, the Third only sent you on S-ranked missions and recently got back from one?" I frowned.
"In a way, my last mission was probably more intense than S-ranked. It could probably be counted as a Z-ranked mission, but there's no such thing." I smiled at my small joke but turned serious again. "I just do my best to help Konoha."
"I see. Well if you could just wait a few more-" She was cut off by the door slamming open and Naruto running in, Sakura following close behind. They've... grown so much.
"June-sensei!" Naruto and Sakura yelled together in pure happiness. I grinned at the two of them.
"Hello. Nows the time to be serious so shut up and pay attention to Lady Tsunade." I demanded and everyone sweat dropped. I turned back around to the Hokage and pursed my lips. "Sorry for my inappropriate outburst. When will we be leaving?" Please let it be tomorrow, please let it be tomorrow.
As if Tsunade read my mind she replied while smirking, "Tonight." I resisted a sigh. Hopefully Kakashi will be here earlier. "June, you're dismissed. Good luck." I smirked back smugly.
"It's more like a certain boy needs luck. No- not you Naruto." I waved to them and then paused. "My place at seven." I instucted them and poofed back at the gates. Izumo and Kotetsu seemed like they just got there. I grinned. I haven't talked to them for awhile. I think the last time was when they were just little genin. I see them all of the time though, running errands for Tsunade. I walked up to them, my hands in my pockets.
"Hello boys, what are you up to these days?" I greeted and both smiled lopsided.
"June-san! We haven't talked to you in... forever!" Kotetsu exclaimed while franticly waving his arms around. I patted his head like a dog and put my hand back in my pocket. "We need to catch up! How about tea, my house?" he asked hopefully. I sighed.
"Tsunade has me on a 'Catch Sasuke' mission with Naruto and Sakura tonight, sorry." I informed and they both groaned.
"Why don't they just give up on him?" Izumo asked and I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"They already tried getting him back twice, and I heard he's with Orochimaru now." he said and my frown deepened. What is Sasuke thinking? Obviously not clearly.
"Huh. Well they have me, and when I'm pissed at somebody, they know it. Because they are either beaten to a pulp or dead." I angerily grumbled.
"Wasn't Sasuke one of your assigned genin?" Kotetsu asked me quietly, not sure what to say.
"Oh yeah, and he is one naughty student." I glanced over my shoulder as a familliar smell of blood was near. I grinned. "Kakashi's back." I told them and winked at them playfully. Kotetsu raised an eye brow.
"Oh? You got a thing for him? Is that why he always leaves the gates and comes back at night?" he smiled when I nodded.
"If he's ever mean to you two, I'll put him back into place for you." I stuck my tongue out and the blood smell got closer. "See you later boys!" I waved at them and they nodded.
"Good luck with that Sasuke mission!" Izumo yelled and muttered something to himself but I wasn't paying attention for I was walking to where I smelt Kakashi. Soon enough, I saw him walking in the horizon with two others. Asuma and Kurenai. Kakashi was reading his book with one hand and the other was stuffed in his pocket. He hasn't noticed me yet. I couldn't take it anymore and used my vampire speed to appear behind him. Asuma and Kurenai glanced at me and they smirked when I winked at them.
I waited so Kakashi was a few feet away and pounced on his back, slinging onto him so I wouldn't fall.
"Oof!" Kakashi grunted and slip his book in his weapon pouch. He sighed and smiled from under his mask. He slid his arms around my legs to help me stay on his back. Kurenai looked up at Asuma innocently and he shook his head fast before she even said anything.
"I'm not giving you a piggy-back ride." he insisted and she huffed, looking away with her arms crossed. I giggled.
"Kurenai-chan I bet I can move over, Kakashi wouldn't mind."she laughed.
"I'm not sure he could hold both of us up!" she said in between giggling. Kakashi scoffed.
"I could hold all three of you up... I just don't want to." he irritatedly insisted and I giggled.
"Sure you can Kakashi-kun." We were getting closer to the gate and I rested my chin on Kakashi's shoulder. I groaned when I remembered the mission I had later.
"What?" All three of them asked, but of course Kakashi sounded the most concerned.
"I have a stupid mission tonight with Naruto and Sakura." I muttered. Asuma looked at his smoke, seeing it was almost out and lit a new one.
"Oh? What is it?" Kakashi asked. I sighed.
"Sasuke mission." I got a bit quieter. Kakashi shifted me in his arms and remained silent.
"What are you going to do about Sasuke?" Asuma asked. "He's your student." I blew out my breath and hugged Kakashi closer to me.
"Beat the kid to a pulp." I muttered. They all seemed taken back.
"Do you think Naruto would accept that?" Kurenai asked after a few moments. I sighed yet again.
"Probably not. But he'll just have to get over it, because maybe Sasuke just needs a reality check." We entered the village gates and I waved at Izumo and Kotetsu without looking at them. I felt another familiar blood scent and groaned as he screamed.
"June you better get your god damn ass over here! I'm f*cking hungry!" Hidan screamed and we all turned around. I rolled by eyes.
"Buy some ramen, and quit cursing." I started to play with a chain that hung around Kakashi's neck, still staring at Hidan.
"No! I want your f*cking good food that you make!" he yelled and stomped over to us. I sweat dropped and was pretty sure everyone else did too.
"Your making a scene, be quiet." I whispered and put my finger to my mouth to sush him.
"Isn't he June-san's maid or servant or something?" Asuma whispered to Kurenai, but we all heard. Hidan's face turned bright red.
"I am not! I am her damn roommate!" he yelled enraged. I sighed.
"Go buy some freaking beef or something to keep your stomach at ease, I'll be back in a little while." I finally told him annoyed and he smiled.
"Thank you bitch, I'll be leaving no-" Too late. I was set off when he called me a bitch. I jumped off Kakashi and tackled him.
"Ohh, he did not just call her a bitch." Kurenai smirked and crossed her arms. Asuma stretched his arms.
"We got to go report our mission..." he trailed off and stepped backwards. Kakashi looked at them.
"Can I leave you two to do it?" he smiled when the other two ninja nodded.
"Come on Asuma." Kurenai held on to his hand and dragged him towards the Hokage mansion. I wasn't paying any attention to them because I was punching Hidan in the face over and over. Kakashi sweat dropped and tapped my shoulder. I looked up at him.
"Your going to kill him if you continue." he stated matter-of-factly with an amused expression. I laughed for a moment.
"He can't die, that's why I'm using all of my strength." I retorted and went back to punching Hidan in the face. "Just warming up for Sasuke." I frowned and finally got off of him. He was all bloody and looked like he broke his nose in a few places and his jaw. I stiffened and saw his blood was on my hand. They both noticed and Hidan smirked.
"Having trouble June?" he mused and cracked his nose back to place with a grunt. I felt my eye color flicker red and I shut my eyes.
"Shut up Hidan." I murmured. Kakashi took action and took my hand and whiped the blood off with his sleeve. "Thanks." I whispered and felt a little bit more in control. After glaring at Hidan slightly for teasing me, I turned to Kakashi.
"Are you hungry?" I smiled at him and he thought for a moment.
"Can't pass up your cooking!" he agreed and we all walked to my house, after I waved to Izumo and Kotetsu again.
I decided to make a pizza, and they loved it. Deidara and Sasori ate with us and went back to our newly bought T.V. I rolled my eyes at them and sighed. When did I ever agree to buy a new one? Never.
"The television looks slightly different." Kakashi inspected.
"It's new, didn't you see the broken one by the tree outside?" I asked. He looked out the window and found it lying there broken in half.
"Now I do." he smiled awkwardly while turning back to us. Hidan decided to stay for seconds... and thirds... and possibly fourths because he's still on his thirds. I decided not to eat because I don't want to barf in front of Naruto or Sakura. I looked at the time, it was about six thirty. Kakashi finished his food awhile ago, saying he was only going to have one piece but wanted to stay with me.
I got up and nodded to Hidan.
"I have a mission and it's most likely going to last for a little while. I'll give Sasori yen to last you a weeks worth of food." I was cut off by Hidan growling.
"Why the hell Sasori and not me!? Or even Deidara?" He yelled and slammed his fist on the table.
"Because, you are irresponsible, Deidara is known to buy expensive brands over cheap brands and I trust Sasori more than both of you combined. I could just give the money to Kakashi-kun, but he'd probably use it to go buy a new book or forget to give the money to you guys." I said thoughtfully. Hidan huffed and looked away, knowing I was right. "Come on Kakashi, you can help me pack my bag." I pulled Kakashi up and dragged him up my stairs and into my room. I let him go and he went straight to my bed, sitting on it. I got out my traveling bag and tossed it next to Kakashi.
I got out my ninja outfit that I only used for missions and thought I haven't used it in a long time. I didn't wear it to the Akatsuki and didn't wear it on that mission with Shikamaru. I did wear it on the mission before that though. My ninja outfit is:
A white kimono that is the kind that cuts off at the waist in the front but continues to flow behind me and almost touches the ground. There are some red swirls on the back and small swirl on the end of each sleeve. Oh, and the sleeves are really wide at the ends, like to my waist if I hold my hands up in the air, straight to make my arms and shoulders seem like a line.
Then there's some loose red short shorts that are held up by elastic. There is a bundle of bandages that usually go up to my lower thighs and sloppily tied off. A long skinny sword was usually strapped on my back.
I got undressed in front of Kakashi, not caring if he saw anything because he has seen it all before. I heard his heart rate pick up and smirked. I slowly turned around and saw that his face was slightly pink. I grinned and kissed him on his mask where his lips would be. He pulled it down and fully kissed me. I sat on him and pushed him on the bed. He ran his fingers up and down my sides and I pecked him on the lips after our little make out. I got off of him and he pouted.
"Naruto and Sakura are going to be here in five minutes and I haven't packed a thing! You hush up and put back on your mask." I pointed my finger at him playfully and stuck my tongue out at him. He rolled his eyes and stuck out his own tongue. He pulled up his mask as I put on my kimono and shorts. I tied my bandages up to my calfs this time and cut the remainding ribbon with my nails. I strapped my sword on my back and tied my super long black hair in a flowing ponytail- the kind that you tie away from your head. I ran down the stairs, abandoning Kakashi because I didn't have time. I smelt Naruto's and Sakura's blood by the gates, coming closer. Kakashi walked down the stairs and I got five water bottles of blood. I found five opaque mugs that would fit all of the blood in and began pouring. Kakashi watched for a minute and I threw a bottle and a mug at him and he helped me pour blood. I saw Naruto and Sakura at the end of the trail, starting to walk on my lawn.
A knock on the door occured and Hidan was about ready to get it.
"Not yet Hidan!" I whispered loud enough fo him to hear. He looked at me confused but nodded. I finished my second bottle as Kakashi finished his first. "One more for the each of us." I murmured. I quickly grabbed the bottle of blood and unscrewed the cap and forced the hole bigger with my fingers. As I flipped it over somebody knocked again. I need them to wait for a little bit longer!
"Hold on, I'm uh...NAKED!" I yelled quickly and almost face palmed at my lame way for them to wait.
"Why are you naked June-Sensei?? We have a secret mission that only you can tell us about!" Naruto yelled back through the door. Great! Tsunade left me to tell Naruto and Sakura the mission! I will get my payback when we get back. Only a little bit more blood... I looked over to Kakashi and saw we did the same thing with the top and was where I was.
"I'm uh..." I looked at Kakashi for an answer but he just shrugged. Nice help you lame boyfriend. "changing wait five minutes!" I finally finished when I couldn't think of anything. Kakashi and I finished pouring the blood at the same time and I quickly took all of the bottles, shoving them in a plasic bag to use later. I put the mugs in my bag and got some human food for my two students. We've never been on a more than two day mission, hopefully they won't get suspicious when I don't eat. I gave Kakashi a smooch on the lips and smiled.
"I love you June." Kakashi whispered.
"I love you too Kakashi-kun." I replied and pecked him on the lips again. I took my bag and went into the living room. "You boys." I pointed at the three lazy men who were lounging on the couches. "Are not to go all Akatsuki like when you see the Nine-Tails. His name is Naruto. Pinky is Sakura. Now. Be good. Oh yeah." I ran up to my room and got yen that would last a good month and ran back down. I held my hand out that had the money to Sasori. "Food, clothes, and buy me a new katana!" I smiled when I said the last thing I wanted. I looked back at the doors.
"Come in!" I called out and they let themselves in. I put my backpack on my back and tightened it slightly. Naruto immediatly pointed an acussing finger at me.
"There are all of these people her- Kakashi-sensei? What are you doing here?" he stopped his rant and looked at Kakashi confused. I sighed.
"He ate lunch slash dinner here. Besides, I just didn't want your innocent eyes to see." see me pour blood in a coffee mug. I wiggled my finger at him. I huffed and pointed to Hidan. "Hidan." I moved my finger over to Sasori, "Sasori." and last but not least Deidara. Deciding to mess with him, I smirked. "Deidei." Naruto busted up laughing and Dei glared at me.
"Your name is seriously Deidei?!" He giggled. Deidara shifted his glare to Naruto.
"No it isn't un. It's DEIDARA!" he yelled his name loudly.
"I think I like Deidei better." Naruto grinned evily. I knew Naruto was up to something so before he could say anything, I cut into the conversation.
"We got to go you two. It's already dark." I turned to Kakashi and he nodded. I sighed knowing he wouldn't want me to kiss him in front of Naruto and Sakura and just went with a hug. "See you whenever?" I asked when I pulled away.
He nodded in response. "Yep." I waved to the other boys.
"I better not hear you getting in trouble, you'll be in for it." I said sternly, which earned me three frantic nods. "Good."
We went out the door, Kakashi following because he was going home and I waved one more time at him. He returned it and glanced at me one more time before poofing away. We walked in comfortable silence for about ten minutes before Naruto decided to break it.
"So what's the mission? I only learned that we're killing a rogue nin!" Naruto cheered happily and I sighed. Here I go...
"That's not true, we are not killing. Simply beating some sense into a certain someone." I tried to delay telling him, but of course Pinky has to ask questions.
"Ooh! Who is it?!" she squealed in wonder. I put my hand to my head and stopped walking. Naruto and Sakura noticed and also stopped, turning around to give me their full attention. Something I wished they hadn't of done.
"I wish I wasn't the one to tell you this..." I looked up at the stars and the moon.
"Come on! Can't be that bad!" Naruto whinned and I faintly smiled at him.
"The mission is to capture Sasuke." It became so quiet I could hear a pin drop... well hear it louder than I already could.
"Sasuke-kun..?" Sakura stammered. I saw Naruto's eyes immediatly turn cold and determined. I nodded to her with no hesitation.
"Yes."
