Chapter 5
Quick AN: The picture above is me trying to show you guys what the Daycare version of Brandon might look like. It's not very good but I tried.
After the realization that their coming to this world had possibly made theirs more dangerous for their own Brandon, Ritchie and Michael kind of shut down. The adults tried talking to them but all the kids could think about was how they might have caused their brother/cousin even more trouble than usual. The adults finally just took the two to bed but as Older Michael tucked in his younger self, a photo slipped out of his pocket.
Curiously, Older Michael picked it up and flipped it over. It was a picture of both the cousins with another boy, and by the looks of it, this was their Brandon. The two did look very similar after all though his hair was brown instead of white. One thing made him frown though, their Brandon had a long scar that went from the top right of his face to the bottom of his left. It wasn't an ugly scar but it was still pretty noticeable. Older Michael clutched his fists as he realized that that scar was probably the result of an assassination attempt as the kids had said.
He placed the photo next to his younger self before leaving the room with his hands on his temples.
"I can't believe what those kids have been through." He said to the other guild leaders as he reached them.
"I just can't believe that they've almost been killed six times in their lives already, and they're not even six!" Bri exclaimed looking disgruntled.
"Maybe they were exaggerating?" Silver asked but you could tell from the way he said it, he didn't believe his own words.
"No, its definitely true." Michael sighed before he proceeded to tell the other guild leaders about the picture. "A picture slipped out of my younger alternate's pocket..."
"And?" Silver prompted.
"It had them two, and then it had a picture of their Brandon." Brandon and Ritchie looked at him in interest. "Their Brandon has a huge scar on his face, I can only imagine that it came from one of the assassination attempts on him."
The guild leaders were all silent for a moment. But before they could even say anything else, Mario ran into the guildhall. Luckily Bri already had her Dream mask on, but still, they were not expecting one of the Divinus Magicae Members to come in at that moment in time.
Mario, upon seeing that all of the guild leaders were there, stopped dead in his tracks.
"Is something going on?" He asked in concern.
The guild leaders exchanged glances before Brandon told him. "You'll find out about it later, Mario, for now, was there something you needed?"
"I was just going to get a job off the board..." Mario said as he looked between the five-four guild leaders and one second suspiciously.
Brandon and Ritchie nodded and Mario, sensing that his presence was unwanted, went upstairs to the request board. The guild leaders started to talk again but were interrupted as Brandon realized something. Those were the wrong stairs!
Meanwhile with Daycare Ritchie and Michael...
Ritchie hadn't really fallen asleep. He really didn't need as much sleep as Michael did as he was both older and a vampire. But he needed to lay down after realizing what he might've done to his brother by being there.
He was surprised that, not even twenty minutes after the adults had tucked them in, he heard footsteps once more. He looked up only for his eyes to widen as he saw someone unfamiliar in front of him.
The two stared at each other before the guy that he didn't recognize turned on his heel and yelled down the stairs "Ritchie, why is there a mini you with red hair in here!"
Michael sat up groggily rubbing his eyes as he asked. "Who is that?" The guy's eyes widened when he looked back and saw the mini Michael as well.
"No idea." Ritchie shrugged.
Older Ritchie and Brandon entered the room then.
"Who are the kids?" The guy asked.
"Simply put, they are Ritchie and Michael's counterparts from a different dimension." Brandon told him point blankly, surprising Ritchie and Michael with his forwardness.
The guy blinked in surprise before asking. "Does this sort of thing happen often?"
"Honestly, besides ourselves, we've only seen it happen with these two." Older Ritchie told him as he rubbed the back of his neck. The guy shook his head, seemingly exasperated, before asking. "Do they know who I am?"
"Nope, never seen you before." Ritchie chirped from his place on the bed. Michael didn't say a word as he snuggled into Ritchie's side and went back to sleep.
"This is Mario, he's one of our guild members." Older Ritchie told him.
"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance." Ritchie said politely even as he put an arm around his cousin.
"You're very well-spoken for a child." Mario noted after nodding politely to the five-year-old.
"I have to keep up with someone who is younger than me and smarter than me." Ritchie said as he gestured to his cousin.
Mario looked a little surprised at that before Brandon asked. "I have got to ask though, Mario, how did you go up the wrong flight of stairs?"
Ritchie started snickering at that while Mario rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, I guess I was a little distracted since all of the guild leaders and one of their seconds were gathered at the same place at the same time."
"That would be weird." Ritchie could see Mario's point while Older Ritchie just rolled his eyes.
"Anyways, we'll give you and the other members a full briefing later." Brandon told him. "Which means stay on the island for now, just get some training in."
Mario nodded and after one last glance at the two mini-guild leaders, he left.
