Day Eighty

Scorpius sat alone in his living room on a rainy Saturday. His parents had gone somewhere without him and left him to himself. Again. His father had warned him about having boys over once again, as if ever had anyone over, but today he was actually contemplating it. He was lonely and he wanted some type of relief from the antsy/nervous feeling he was experiencing.

But he would feel weird having someone over his house when he didn't really interact with them outside of school. What would he do anyway? Ask them to come over, bang them and then kick them out? That seemed a bit brutal if he was being honest and made him sound like a bad host. He was taught to always be a good host.  Having sex with someone at school was different than at home. He could just lie and say he had a class. What would he say at home? He had another person coming over? Don't stay around? It was majorly unsettling after he thought about it more.

Deciding he was just going to ignore the feeling, he turned on the television to the news. First it was the weather followed by the current events happening. Everything that was happening around the world as well as the local news. Then the green eyed boy flashed on the screen.

Albus Potter
Age 15

"Today marks eighty days since Albus Potter has gone missing. He was last seen at a gas station with his family before he vanished. He has jet black hair and green eyes. He is 5'5 and 140 pounds, if you have any details on his whereabouts, we urge you contact our missing persons hotline at the bottom of the screen"

The number flashed across the screen and Scorpius sighed. He wished he knew where the kid was or if he was safe. The police obviously thought he was still alive or they would have suspended the searched. Scorpius figured they hadn't cos he was the son of a detective. And if they suspended the search, it looked bad on them.

His phone blaring made him jump and quickly answer it.

            "Hello?" He nearly shouted.

"Hi baby, we just wanted to check up on you," It was his mother. "Everything going alright?"

"Yeah mum but I'm starving, are you going to come home soon?" He questioned.

"No baby, we'll be out for a little longer, there's some left over chicken in the fridge or some food in the pantry you can cook up." She informed him.

"There's no boys over there, are there?" Draco's voice rang out.

"No not anymore, my last booty call left a few minutes ago." Scorpius sassed and he heard his father scoff.

            "That's not funny Scorpius."

"Oh hush Draco, he's only teasing," Astoria chided. "Okay baby, we're happy you're doing alright. Have a good lunch and we'll see you in a few hours." His mother said before they hung up. Sighing, he shut off the television and stood up to walk toward the kitchen. Not feeling like cooking, he decided to just heat up the chicken.

"Come on guys, I told your grandparents we'd be there by now." Harry called up to his family.  He checked his watch for the third time before he heard the thumping of feet down the stairs. He looked up and saw James.

"I think you're gonna need to pry mum and Lily out of the bathroom, they're still getting ready."
"We're only going to their house, what could they possibly getting ready for?" Harry exasperated before walking up the stairs. He heard the front door shut so he figured James was going wait in the car. He thought that might make the women hustle.

Getting upstairs, he found both women putting on their make-up in their bathroom.

"We're late," Harry told them. "And James is in the car waiting." Without looking away from putting on her mascara, Ginny sighed.

"Harry, we live fifteen minutes away, we're fine." Ginny answered.

"Yeah but I told them 2 o'clock and it's," Harry checked his watch. "2:10 now, we're gonna be a whole half an hour late now." He informed her and she put the mascara wand away before regarding her husband. She turned to Lily who had just finished placing lip gloss on her lips.

"Lily, are you ready?" She questioned and Lily nodded her head. "Okay then let's go, we're all set." She turned back to Harry who let out a long sigh. He followed them out of the bathroom and down the stairs to where they grabbed small coats for the chill. Lily was the first out so Ginny turned to Harry.

"I know you're worried about us being late but this is the first time we're going out... you know, without Albus and your children are anxious." Ginny informed Harry who stared blankly. "And Lily wanted to look nice. She hasn't really had her mind on anything other than this whole incident. I want her to take time for herself."
"I understand that Ginny but I am just as worried, I feel like we're just pretending nothing happened." Harry admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. He took a deep breath as Ginny started speaking.

"I feel like that too. He's not with us and we're going out, without him. But I think your parents just want us to get out of the house, same with my family but they're a little too far for my liking. At least with being somewhat close, we could rush home if we hear anything about Albus." Ginny gently ran a hand through her hair. She closed her eyes before taking a deep breath and opening them, a small smile playing on her features.  "We'll be okay, we're gonna have a good time."

"We'll try at least." Harry said before pulling Ginny into a kiss. He pressed a gentle kiss against her lips before pulling away. They walked out of the house together before getting into the car.

"Ready?" Harry asked him kids who nodded their heads. "Okay can one of you tell your grandparents that we were running late but we're on our way now?" He asked and James volunteered. Harry smiled at them before throwing a smile Ginny's way and drove off.

It was getting darker earlier. Albus knew that for sure time was going by. He knew he had to have been there for some time. How much time, he had no idea. Every day seemed to melt into one. It felt like he had been there for years if he were being honest. He had no source of communication. Except with Dom.

Even that was barely any communication. He didn't speak anymore, he could barely move most of the time. He was worn and he wished that he could just die already. It would be easier than what he was enduring. His mind was slowly dwindling.

As the light outside twinkled away, Albus curled further into a ball and closed his eyes. That's when he was always met with nightmares. However these nightmares were nothing compared to the nightmare that was his reality.

"Oh baby boy! I'm home!" He heardbeing called out and his eyes flew open. Taking a deep breath, Albus turned onhis back and prepared for the worst.
