Dawnkit pushed away everyone that tried to talk to her. Even her own mother's efforts to get her to come back to the nursery failed. She stayed in that corner of the camp all night, eventually falling into a deep exhausted sleep.

In her dream she was at the top of a grassy cliff, looking out into an endless body of water that reflected the equally endless sea of stars in the dark moonless sky.

She looked up and the stars weren't there anymore. "Has even Starclan left me?" Dawnkit said with distress.

All of a sudden the cliff dropped away from her and she fell, far into the ocean. But she seemed to be falling into the stars instead of away from them. She landed at the bottom holding her breath before she realized she could breathe. She took a couple paces and saw a cat in front of her, pelt full of stars.

Tears came to Dawnkit's eyes, "Icekit?..." She said, a lump forming in her throat.

He turned, smiling at her, "Hello Dawnkit..." She ran up to him, rubbing her cheek against his.

He began to purr but it didn't sound like a purr, it sounded like a big monster growling. Icekit backed away, "They're coming Dawnkit, and everyone is doomed...."

He began to fade. She ran to where he was, "No don't leave me! Please...." She wailed, "I'm so sorry...."

A breeze floated through her fur, bringing her brothers scent for the last time. "I love you Dawnkit..."

"I love you too...." She meowed quietly, closing her eyes and finally letting go, knowing Icekit was watching over her....
