Chapter 5
"Well, seeing as I have had it since I was a baby at the orphanage in Athens, I honestly have barely any memory of who gave it to me, all I remember of the person that gave it to me is that they have greyish-silver eyes, like mine." I explained with a slight shrug of my own shoulders.
We all walked outside as it was now, a couple of minutes till sundown, and as Thalia explained to earlier instead of throwing a drachma I clutched my necklace in my right hand and whispered Artemis' name along with a polite 'please' at the end because I do NOT want to be impolite to a goddess.
After a few minutes, the moon began to rise and if you took a closer look to just in front of the moon, you could just about see a silver chariot of sorts, which looked as if it was pulling the moon across the dark sky littered with stars, as the moon drew higher in the sky and the chariot come closer to us, I noticed that there was actually a figure in the chariot, a female figure.
"Is that....?" Lily trailed off her jaw-dropping in awe, looking at the female inside the chariot that basically looked like an older version of me, from what I could tell, from her waist-length red hair, a splatter of freckles over her nose, greyish-silver eyes and the only differences between us really that you could see, is that she had silver streaks in her hair and was wearing a silver circlet on her head before anyone else could answer I replied to Lily's question.
"Yep, that's Artemis, goddess of the hunt, archery, the moon, natural environment, chastity, virginity and head of the hunters of the gods." I answered for Lily, while everyone was looking at me in... awe?, well apart from mum, probably because she knows that I can name every Greek god or goddess and what they are the god or goddess of, even Artemis looked surprised at how I was able to remember that.
"Oh my - not anyone I have encountered throughout all my years has yet to remember all that or even majority of those you said, young one." Artemis said to me once she landed her chariot in the backyard, a few feet in front of us, and if you haven't guessed yet the backyard is the same as the house, huge. "Tell me, young one to test your knowledge, who are my parents and full siblings?" She added on, probably not expecting me to know the answers.
"That's easy, your father is Zeus, king of the gods and god of the skies, thunder, lightning, hospitality, honour, kingship, and order also no offence but he has massive anger issues, your mother is Leto the Greek Titaness of motherhood, mythology, pictures and protectress of the young and finally your only full sibling is your younger twin brother, Apollo, who is the god of music, poetry, truth, prophecy, healing, plague, light and the sun." I answered, once again receiving looks of awe from mum, the twins, the Demi-gods and Artemis.
"Once again, hardly anyone has ever known that about me. You have been teaching her Isobel." Artemis said looking towards mum, who shook her head in reply.
"Actually, Serena has been teaching me on both Greek and Roman myths and legends since I adopted her a few years ago." Mum explained while giggling slightly when the goddess developed a shocked expression on her face.
"Well, what do you expect when I had spent ten or eleven years of my life in an orphanage in Athens, where they would tell you every single one of the myths and legends as a bedtime story or when you ask them to, especially when you were found with a necklace that is also a symbol of a god or goddess." I told them with a slight hint of sass at the beginning which sort of got rid of the Demi-god's surprised expressions, but then once I finished for some reason Artemis had a sorrowful, expression on her face as if she did something she wishes she didn't.
"Anyway, back to the reason why I was summoned, what do you need?" Artemis questioned us with a kind glint in her eyes, more so to us girls than the boys, Leo in particular.
"Lady Artemis, we need your help to get us to camp as soon as possible because us being together, along with three unclaimed Demigods and a goddess, is not probably the best mixture there is where monsters have already attacked this morning, the Minotaur to be exact." Thalia explained to the maiden goddess in front of us, who then developed an expression that was a mixture of worry and understanding on her face.
"Okay, then I'm guessing you thought it better me than Apollo as it would be quicker. So, this chariot will not fit all thirteen of us, so please step back for a moment please." She politely shuffled us back a few paces and as we were doing so a luminous white glow came from the chariot and I instinctively stepped in front of the twins and turned them away from the chariot as well as myself.
Once the glow diminished I turned us back so we were once again facing where the chariot was, but now in its place was a greyish-silver minivan.
"Okay, Thalia get in the back please." Artemis ordered and straight away the said Grace child made a beeline for the seat in the middle of the very back row with her brother and Percy on either side of her with Lily on the other side of Jason, Jason clutching the life out of his sister and Percy being clutched to death by Thalia, as well as Jason getting a death grip hug from Lily.
The same situation happening with mum, Hazel, Frank and Alice in the next row, Piper, Leo and Anna all just sat normally in the row behind the front with the two girls giggling at Percy and Jason's reaction to being in the minivan, well Percy I understand because his domain is the sea, but Thalia and Jason, their domain is the sky and their terrified.
So, with all the other seats taken up, it only left the driver's seat in which Artemis was going to sit and the front passenger seat, just bloody great.
So, with that I sat in the seat next to Artemis and quickly buckled myself in, knowing that this was probably going to go over the comfort speed that I was used to from planes I've been on before.
