- Dancing Heart -

I walked into my English classroom and headed to the desk at the very back. As soon as I dropped my books on the desk and sat down, I closed my eyes and brought my hands up to rub my head. It's eight thirty in the morning and I still have a headache from last night.

After dropping Nick off and getting my car back from Sam's house, I immediately went to sleep. When I woke up this morning, not only did I look like a zombie, but I felt like one too. I had a headache but I didn't drink. It just shows how much Cameron can piss me off.

I was really debating whether or not I should go to school, but I knew if I skipped school I would most likely be in some trouble with my parents. Des was also smart enough to go to school and Sam, even with a hangover, was forced to go. It's a completely different story with Nick though, since he was wasted last night along with the rest of the football team, he stayed home. I haven't seen Cameron yet so I'm just praying he's at home with a killer hangover.

Since I have the worst luck, as soon as I open my eyes, I see a pair of blue eyes looking into my own.

I move back in my seat from shock only to make Cameron laugh. I can not believe he came to school today.

After he stopped laughing, he walked over to the desk next to me. I almost ask him what he was doing but I decided against it. After what he said  to me last night, I think the best thing I could do right now is give him the silent treatment. Yes I know, I'm very mature.

"So..great party last night right?"

Seriously? He wants to talk about the party?

When he finally gets the clue that I won't be answering him, he speaks up again.

"Really? Ignoring me again?"

Ding ding ding! Cameron finally got something right.

"It's not my fault you can't handle a little game of truth or dare." I hear him mumble under his breath.

At that moment, I was at my breaking point. I was just about to start yelling at him, but the bell went just as I started to open my mouth. Mr. Walker came into the classroom and started passing out handouts. If the bell hadn't went, I would probably have gone all crazy on Cameron which means I would have made a fool out of myself. I seriously need to be as far away as I can possibly be from him.

I start reading the handout that Mr. Walker gave us to see that it was a writing topic.

What drives me most crazy is...

How appropriate. The exact person that drives me crazy, and definitely not in a good way, is sitting right next to me in this very room. I pick up my pen and start writing about the rude boy sitting next to me.

It was finally Saturday. Not only did I make it through the first week of school, but I was also able to avoid talking to Cameron. It definitely got easier because after finally figuring out that I won't be talking to him, he gave up and left me alone. He still unfortunately sits next to me in English and Chemistry but I just pretend he isn't there.

It was only one o'clock and the movie that Nick decided we should see doesn't start until six, so I texted Sam telling her that I was going to hang out with her at her place.

Once I got to her house, she quickly dragged me upstairs to her room.

"Sam! Calm down." I start rubbing the spot on my arm that turned red from her tight hold.

"Sorry! I just have some amazing news!"

I walk over to her bed and fall on it, grabbing one of the many pillows she has, and made myself comfortable.

"Okay, what is this news?"

She sat down next to me on her bed and excitedly launched into her story.

"Alright, so today after I woke up, I went to Starbucks for my regular coffee that I get every morning and guess who was waiting behind me? Jake Crawford! He ended up paying for my coffee and we are going to go out for dinner tomorrow night!"

"Wait wait wait! Jake Crawford? As in the guy on the basketball team who was friends with Chase? The very same Chase that cheated on me and broke my heart?" I was shocked that my best friend would agree to go on a date with that jerk's friend!

"Yeah I was hoping you forgot that tiny piece of information. But let's remember, Chase is gone. Nobody has heard from him in forever. Jake probably doesn't even talk to him anymore and besides, Jake was not at that party and he's a nice guy." She was practically begging me to let her go out with Jake.

I guess it would be wrong for me not to let her go out with him. It has been two years since the incident, and like she said, Jake is a nice guy who wasn't even at the party.

I sigh and look at Sam, "Fine, you have my blessing."

She attacks me with a hug and thanks me with a giant smile on her face.

She hasn't been out with any guys since Chris broke up with her before summer, so it's nice to see that she has moved on.

Once she let go of me, I start teasing her. "I think we should talk about your coffee addiction."

"Hey! Going to Starbucks every morning has finally paid off! I got a date and free coffee." She throws the closest pillow to her at me.

"Your right. Maybe I should just hang out at Starbucks everyday waiting for some guy to come around and pay for my coffee." I throw the pillow back at her and start singing, "Someday my prince will come...and pay for my Starbucks coffee."

"Yes, a modern fairy tale." At this point, we both have tears in our eyes from laughing so hard.

It was five thirty when Sam and I arrived at the movie theater. We were waiting for Nick to get here, but knowing him, he was going to be late. As soon as we bought our tickets and one more for Nick, I saw him walk through the front entrance doors.

"Hey sorry I'm late." He quickly apologized as I hand him his ticket.

"Yeah Nick, we know. I'm gonna go get us popcorn so you guys go get us some seats." Sam walks away from us while Nick and I walk into the theater.

"Excited for the movie?" Nick asks me as we sit down.

I hit him on the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?" He asks me innocently.

"Nick, you know I hate scary movies!" I wined while looking down at my nails.

I am beyond terrified to watch this movie.

"Right! I remember one time, you were so scared, you jumped into my lap and curled into a ball." He starts laughing as he remembers the event. "If it makes you feel better, I'll always be here to protect you from any scary monsters."

"Well you wouldn't have to protect me if you would stop putting me in these situations you know." I playfully point out to him.

"Sorry, I can't help it. Wait, is that the new guy with Amanda?" He stops laughing and the carefree look in his eyes are now replaced with anger. I follow his gaze to see that he is indeed right. The jerk is with the psycho. How nice.

I try to hid my face with my hand. "Just don't draw any attention to us Nick." I whisper back to him and started to wish that the theater chair would swallow me up this very moment.

"Um...I think it might be a little too late for that. They're walking over to us right now."

Why can't the both of them leave me alone. I never get this much attention normally so why is the universe pushing them to me?

"Well it's nice to see you here Cassandra and Mr. Football."

I bring my hand down to see Cameron with a smirk on his face once again. I feel Nick tense up at how Cameron addresses him and I also notice how Amanda is almost trying to silently tell me that she won the boy. The joke's on her because I don't want him. She can have fun dealing with his ugly personality.

"What are you doing here Miller?" Nick asks Cameron with clear annoyance in his voice.

"Same as everyone else. Just came to watch a movie." Cameron waves his hand around gesturing to the people around us waiting for the movie to start.

"Can you maybe watch the movie somewhere else and not near us?"

"No can do. Best seats are the row below yours. Guess you guys are stuck with Amanda and I." As he says that, he drapes his arm around Amanda's shoulders and she is practically beaming from happiness.

I roll my eyes. Can these two be any more annoying. As they sit down in the seats in front of us, Sam comes back with two bags of popcorn.

"What took you so long?" I ask her as I pass down one bag of popcorn to Nick.

She grabs a handful of popcorn and passes me the bag. "Sorry there was a long lineup."

Sam then points to Cameron and Amanda and mouths to us asking if it was really them.

Nick leans over and whispers back, "Yep."

Throughout the movie, Amanda was clinging on to Cameron. It was disgusting. I could tell she was just pretending to be scared to get attention from Cameron. I mean seriously, can anything even scare the devil that is Amanda?

Me however is a whole different story. I was pretty scared. The movie had a ton of jump scares. I ended up deciding that the safest option was to cover my eyes with my hands.

Nick chuckled as he looked over to me. "Are you alright Cassy?"

"No! I am not 'alright'. I am terrified!" I answered back quietly.

Cameron turned around and said, "Do you guys mind? I'm trying to watch a movie."

Once he turned back around, Nick muttered under his breath, "I'm gonna kill him if he says one more thing," which brightened up my mood a bit.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking of the many different ways that I can kill Cameron Miller.
