- Chapter 1 -
"And one! Two! And three! My God, Y/n why can't you do it?! I already explained to you how!" he walked away to grab the bottle of water, irritated. I looked at him and said: "You know very well that I'm not a professional and all this is complicated for me." I went towards the door of the room where we could change clothes when the lesson ended.
But before I reached it, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer to his body, seeing my face hurt by his words, and whispered in my ear while kissing it: "The lesson is not over. And even if it was, stay. I have to apologize properly."
5 months before
"Y/n! You received a letter!" my mother shouted from downstairs. I immediately ran down the stairs. I went down quickly because, of course, I wasn't expecting a letter for me: letters always arrived for my mother and often concerned bills or elderly relatives from abroad who still wrote, not knowing how to write an email. "Mom, are you sure it's for me?" My mother gave me the letter saying that my name was on the envelope.
I opened the envelope and saw the name of the university I had chosen, that is the New York University for the engineering degree, and this is what was written:
"From the New York University we inform you that your application has been accepted considering the excellent final results of your high school exam and the scholarship you received..."
I screamed with joy and ran to tell my mother, who hugged me at the news, instead of my brother, who closed the door annoyed by the screams, but I knew he would come later to give me a hug, he had to finish first his very important gaming computer match.
I spent the weeks before leaving saying goodbye to those who knew me, like classmates, teachers, friends, but especially my best friend Mia, who had always supported me in everything and was very happy at the news but also very sad that I had to leave. "Now with who will I spend the days at school or the long afternoons doing homework and going out?" she looked at me bored. "Mia, I will call you every day and I'll come back for Christmas and summer holidays." I hugged her.
"Surely you'll find some handsome guy, I heard that there are stratospherically hot guys there in New York!" I playfully hit her shoulder at her mischievous smile. "Do you really think I'll have time for boys? I've never had time for love and anyway no guy will notice me, everyone considers me a nerd..." Mia got irritated. "Don't even say that! You're amazing and very beautiful, in my opinion none of the boys at school notice you because they're too stupid and scared of your intelligence. You will surely find someone in life who will love you," I replied hopefully. "Maybe it will happen, but I doubt it" and together we finished packing my suitcases.
In New York
??1: "Look how they move..."
??2: "I know, even if I can't stand her I have to say she dances well with the teacher."
??1: "Ah yes, they've known each other since they were little. The father, a famous CEO, wanted the teacher to marry her, the only daughter of the Lee family. It is said that the teacher gave her the ring but the relationship and marriage... nothing was ever officialized."
??2: "How do you know these things?!"
??1: "For a period they were the couple of the year on all social media, I remind you that the teacher and Miss Lee are part of the most important families in New York."
??2: "Right... it's obvious they come from a rich family, especially her who is always so snobbish with everyone and wears only designed clothes. He, however, is not like that... in fact, it's hard to understand him. He's always so strict, cold, mysterious, elegant—"
??1: "Olivia, stop undressing him with your eyes, remember he's our boss and we are only his secretaries. He ignores every female being and is only focused on his choreography, imagine if he cares about us."
Olivia: "I know Sophia, I only hoped for a moment. I wonder if he will ever fall in love with someone."
Sophia: "I really don't think so, for a while I thought he was gay but then I assumed that he's just a narcissist."
Olivia: "Come on, don't be so negative! In my opinion there will be a girl who will make him lose his mind. Want to bet?"
Sophia: "Okay, we bet. If I'm right, you'll have to clean our apartment all week by yourself! As a roommate I'm tired of always having to clean."
Olivia: "If I'm right, you'll have to cook all week! As a roommate I'm tired of always having to cook."
Sophia & Olivia: "Deal."
