Ruby
Two Days into Quarantine and I hate my existence. Hope you enjoy. Have fun y'all.

Battle training was Rin's best subject. Of course, he was only this good because he used to fight a lot, but no one needed to know that if they weren't asking.
Rin had only ever successfully pulled his weapon from his gem once–when he'd gotten his gem. He'd been afraid of pulling it out since. With a gem came the paranoia of people finding out where his gem was so they could crack it. On the scale of durability–Diamonds being a ten, the most durable gem to exist– Sapphires were just below them at a nine. But Rin also had a tendency to mess things up a lot, so he'd probably find some way to crack his own gem accidentally without anyone else's help.
Once again, he was paired up with Suguro, but that was fine with Rin. He'd been wanting to deck Ruby since he'd met him. All they'd learned in this class so far were pins and takedowns.
"Alright, first, you will show me what moves you already know, if any. I've paired you up based on body type and gem compatibility. First up, Okumura and Suguro!" The teacher, Yunokawa, announced.
The two stepped into the mat set out. "The rules are simple. Don't step off the mat unless you want an automatic loss. All foul play is allowed, but no weapons. Go!"
Rin rushed Suguro as soon as the word left the teacher's mouth. The guy obviously wasn't prepared for it. He also wasn't prepared for the right hook, knee to the stomach, and roundhouse kick to the head combo Rin gave him. It was incredibly satisfying for the Sapphire. He had the arrogant gem on the floor in six seconds flat.
"Stop!" Yunokawa called. "Nice job Okumura. You've obviously got some experience in this field, at least." He commented.
"You took every advantage you had. So instead, I'll pair you with me to see how you hold up. Everyone else, pair off and start with basic moves. Don't try anything fancy like Okumura just did, please. I'd like to have only one K.O. in my class per day, thank you." The man told them.
With that, battle training began. It was probably the only class Rin could pass with a perfect score. He knew how to fight, but the reason behind it was shameful. People always saw he was stronger than them and challenged him as he was growing up. Once they realized no one person could take him down, they'd started ganging up on him. He learned very quickly how to fight several people at once. This training was almost too easy.
Rin learned street fighting, but used technique he'd learned over the years to make it work. Yunokawa was a trained Gem Warrior and was likely taught in a class just like this years ago.
Rin feigned a right hook and caught the teacher in the stomach with a left hook. He ducked an elbow from the man and instead slid between his legs to behind the teacher. He flipped so he was standing on his hands and caught Yunokawa's head between his feet as his tail wrapped around Yunokawa's shoulders to help support the grip, picking him up with sheer strength alone and slamming him down on the floor on the other side of him.
Rin had him pinned on the floor in twenty seconds.
"You're amazing at this, kid. I won't ask where you learned, but I do have something in mind for you." Yunokawa tapped out, grinning.

"How the hell did you do that?!" Suguro demanded.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Rin smirked.
"That was awesome! Who taught you?" Shima threw an arm around Rin's shoulders with a wide grin.
"No telling." Rin smiled at the Citrine.
"Aw come on! You dance like a goddess and fight like a badass. How can you be that good?!" Shima pressed. Rin rolled his eyes.
"I do not dance like a goddess. And the more physical classes are the only classes I can pass easily. Everything else is hard for me. I just got lucky most Warrior training classes are physical stuff. Gem Theory sucks and Gem History would be interesting if we had more wars to learn about, but there's literally two major Gem Wars and then little battles that lasted two or three days each, so then we just move on to the history of each Gem clan. Then we have all of the laws for Gems amd anything else interesting is classified." Rin explained.
"Do you know anything that's classified since you're the last Sapphire?" Konekomeru wondered curiously.
Rin shrugged. "Bits and pieces. Not enough to put anything major together." He lied. He proceeded to walk back to his dorm with Yukio. Mephisto had wanted to put them in an entirely separate dorm so no one could figure out Rin's secret.
Rin actually knew plenty of classified information. But he couldn't tell his friends anything because it also involved him and his parents/family.
"Keep it in the family." He laughed bitterly to himself.

A month went by and they would be summoning their weapons the next day.
"Class, gather round." Yunokawa instructed. "I told Okumura a month ago that I wanted him to think of all the techniques he knows and teach them to you. Okumura and I will teach you basic fighting maneuvers or quick take-downs for today." Yunokawa told them.
"Suguro, get over here!" Rin called. "Shima, you go with Konekomeru. Watch what we do." Rin ordered. It was nice to be in charge of something important. No one ever trusted him to be in charge like this, and usually, he wouldn't want to be because he usually screwed everything up without even trying. But this was something he knew how to do. This was his turf.
"Make sure you have good balance. A lot of classes for self- defense or fighting usually tell you you need to be in a certain stance to start. That's bullshit." Rin began, getting a snicker from Shima.
"You're not really gonna have time to get into stance most of the time. You can't just tell the enemy to wait so you can stand the right way before you fight them." He turned to Suguro.
"Come at me."
The Ruby blanched. "What?!"
"Come at me. Do whatever comes to mind first." Rin repeated patiently. He'd realized that this guy was mostly just smart because he could memorize things easily. He was good at analysis on things, but he was also pretty dense and childish.
Suguro charged, going for a solid punch, as was expected, but Rin grabbed his arm and spun him around, slamming him to the ground with his arm yanked behind his back and a knee on his tailbone.
"Too easy. Yeah, you can charge in however you want. But try to see the dodge or counterattack coming so you can at least know you're gonna get hit and think about your next move." Rin told him.
"Shima, you next. Come here." Rin called. The pinkette looked slightly nervous. Rin smirked.
"Same as Suguro. Come at– woah!" Shima was moving before Rin even finished. The Sapphire grinned. Well, Shima at least understood something about battle tactics–unpredictability.
Rin laughed, sidestepping and going to grab Shima's shoulder to spin him around. The pinkette surprised the teen by spinning around all on his own and kicking out. Rin caught his ankle and yanked it so Shima fell on his back. Rin waited until the Citrine could breathe again before telling him what he did wrong.
"That was pretty good." He complimented.
"I have older brothers." The boy grinned. He let Rin help him up.
"Alright, you started off good. Always go for a surprise attack. Never let them see all of your utilities. You have to have something as a trump card and your strengths must remain unknown as long as they can." Rin said.
"Shima, you started good, but you're too obvious about favoring your right side. You have to train your entire body to fight on equal sides, if that makes any sense." He finished.
"Basically, your entire body has to be ambidexterous?" Suguro tried.
"Yes! Thank you. Alright, Koneko, come on." Rin turned to see the shorter teen gone. He frowned and raised an eyebrow.
"Did anyone see him leave?" He looked at Suguro. He shook his head in bewilderment.
"Huh. Guess he went to the bathroom or someth–wah!" Rin felt a sudden weight on his back and fell forward. His left arm was quickly pinned between his shoulder blades.
Konekomeru was sitting on top of him, grinning victoriously.
"Yes! That was perfect! Good job, Koneko!" Rin laughed.
"Man, you're great for stealth. You probably won every game of hide'n'seek as a kid." He added.
Suguro laughed. "He did. Only one able to get in tiny spaces even after eleven years old. Lucky." He affirmed.
"I'm proud of you. I'll admit, I thought you'd be too nervous to even hold a knife in a fight. I'm sorry." Rin apologized.
"That's fine. The more people assume, the more they're wrong." Konekomeru said wisely.
They went over surprise attacks for the rest of that class.
