Chapter 16
It was the day before Christmas Eve and you had just finished wrapping Damian's presents, they were all pretty boring things that he had asked for you to get him so you had another gift for him.
It was the last day you would be seeing him before Christmas so you decided to exchange presents today. Damian had always been so kind and thoughtful towards you so you wanted to do something special for him as part of your gift, you had the whole day planned out and he was on his way to your house.
He arrived shortly after and you greeted him with a hug, you didn't normally like hugs but Damian was the only person that you enjoyed them with.
"Good morning, gorgeous," he said and he kissed you on the cheek.
"Good morning to you too, handsome," you replied.
Damian smiled at you and took his bag of Christmas presents into the living room and placed them under the tree.
"Don't bother getting comfy, we're going out now," you said as you put on your coat and wrapped yourself up in a scarf.
"Where are you taking me?" He asked with a suspicious look on his face.
"It's a surprise, just make sure you wrap up warm."
Damian put his coat, scarf and gloves on and you walked outside to face the cold December air, it was snowing but the ground was so damp that it didn't settle so you couldn't make snowmen, unfortunately.
You arrived at your destination about 20 minutes later, it was a huge pop-up ice rink in the park.
"Come on, I promise it will be fun," you smiled at Damian and squeezed his hand. He followed you towards the booth to get your ice skates on.
You found out the hard way that ice skating was much harder than you thought. You had only done it a few times before but you were much younger.
Of course, Damian could skate perfectly and you just shuffled along the edge of the rink holding on to the side walls.
Damian tried to help you by holding onto you while he effortlessly glided across the ice. You were starting to get the hang of it and felt you could do it on your own now.
"Don't worry, I've got this," you said as you made your way out of Damian's grip.
"You sure?"
"Yeah just watch me, soon enough I'll be a triple axle," Damian let you go and you managed to glide along for a full 3 seconds before falling face first into the ice, causing blood to rush down from your nose.
"(Y/N) are you alright?!" Damian knelt down beside you.
"I'm fine, it looks worse than it is." Damian picked you up and skated you to the first aid booth.
"My legs are fine, you didn't need to carry me here."
"We need medical assistance here!" He called.
"You're making a big deal out of nothing, it's just a cut."
"It could be broken," Damian sat you down and wiped away the blood with a tissue.
"Trust me, there would be a lot more screaming involved if it was broken." You laughed.
The medic came and wiped your nose with an antiseptic wipe and placed a plaster on the small cut.
"I told you, it's just a cut. I'm more pissed off about the fact that all my clothes are wet now from the ice."
Damian laughed, "I'm just glad you're ok. But I'm really cold and you need a change of clothes so let's go back to your house and I can make you some hot cocoa." He suggested.
"Good plan but my nose is really starting to hurt again I think you're gonna need to carry me back."
"I thought it didn't affect your legs and that I don't need to carry you anywhere."
"Ouch! The pain just kicked in."
"Fine," he rolled his eyes and picked you up, "I'll carry you as far as the car."
When you got in the house you went upstairs to have a warm shower and put on some dry clothes. You later returned downstairs to see that Damian was waiting for you with hot cocoa, as promised, and some biscuits.
"My hero," you said and you had a sip of your hot beverage. "You can defiantly add 'Master of making cocoa' to your list of talents."
"That list is never-ending!"
You laughed and you both cuddled up on the sofa and watched some Christmas classics.
You had just finished watching Home Alone and you suddenly remembered something, "There's own more thing we need to do tonight."
"Yeah, what?" Damian yawned.
"Well, more like two more things, the first is to decide what food you want to order, it's your choice."
"Ok, how about Chinese?"
"Good, that's just what I was in the mood for," and you ordered the food.
"So what's the second thing we've got to do?"
You got up, out of your comfortable position and walked out the door, "Follow me."
Damian did as you ordered and followed you into your bedroom.
"Go and find as many blankets and pillows as you can."
"What for?"
"You'll find out soon enough," you smirked.
Damian returned a few minutes later with lots of blankets in his arms.
"Where do you want these?"
"Perfect, this way."
You led him to a small balcony and climbed up a ladder that led to the rooftop. You got Damian to pass you the blankets before he climbed up and you lied them out.
"You can come up now," you smiled down at him.
"Could you just tell me why you're making me climb onto the roof of your house with you?" He said as he made his way up the ladder.
"We're stargazing." You announced as the two of you sat down and wrapped yourselves up in the blankets and pillows. The night sky was completely clear, the moon was full and you could see every individual star.
"I've never noticed the night sky in Gotham look like this it's always raining, but this is beautiful," Damian said as he wrapped his arms around you, which instantly warmed you up much more.
"You see that constellation there?" He pointed towards a group of stars.
"Mm-hmm," you hummed.
"That's your star sign," he started to talk about your zodiac and he explained what all correlations in the sky were called.
"So can you tell my future by just looking at the stars?" You giggled.
"As a matter of fact, I can predict that in the very near future, your extraordinarily handsome boyfriend is going to kiss you and thank you for planning such an amazing day."
"That sounds like a pretty good future to me." You laughed.
Damian leaned in closer, so your noses were touching and you could feel his soft breathing on your cold skin.
"Yes, it does indeed."
Before you could reply his lips met yours and he kissed you with much more passion than he ever had before. You had to quickly wrap your arms around him and hold on so he didn't push you back completely. After a while, he finally gave you the chance to kiss back and you did, but more lovingly and gently, slowly stroking the back of his neck.
It wasn't long until you were interrupted by the doorbell ringing.
You reluctantly pulled away, "I need to go get the food."
Damian didn't let go of you, "Thank you for everything, (Y/N), today was perfect."
"Anything for you Damian." And you hurried downstairs to collect the food.
