Chapter Two

Chapter edited by: mon-princesse

Victoria's p.o.v.

As soon as I walk through my front door I head straight into the kitchen, my stomach growling in anticipation.

I search inside the cupboards but end up settling for a fruit yoghurt in the fridge.

"Back from school already?" I turn around and see my brother, Michael, standing by the archway leading out of the kitchen.

"Yeah, it's almost 4p.m., I'm always back at this time." I state the obvious.

"Oh, well I have never really noticed before."

"I know. I mean I could probably be murdered and none of you would've noticed." I return irritably.

The sad thing is that he can't even argue or defend himself, because the words I spoke are completely true, no one in my family ever has time for me.

I have two siblings, a sister and a brother; both older than me. I never speak to my 23 year old sister because she's too busy sleeping with any guy that will spare her a glance to notice me.

Then there's my brother, who's 25, he just really doesn't care about anything to do with me, as my life in no way benefits him, he sees no point in being apart of my life.

As for my parents, well let me just say, if we didn't have cooks, I would probably starve to death by neglect and hunger. They're too cooped up with work to take notice of my existence.

"You should watch your tone and have a little more respect for your elders." He sternly points a finger at me.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes, making my way to walk out of the kitchen but he grabs me by the arm and stops me.

"What?" I snap, irritated by his closeness.

"Do you have any plans tonight?"

"Yes." I try to tug my arm out of his hold, but his grip only tightens.

"Where are you going?" He questions, a frustrated look overtaking his features.

"Out." I say cheekily.

"Where are you going?" He repeats, his suppressed anger nearly boiling over the edge.

I sigh, "I'm going over to Gerald's house."

"Well, you're going to have to cancel your plans." He mocks.

"What? Why?" I ask, annoyed.

"Because I'm bringing a girl home to meet you." My fists tighten by my sides, how dare he try to control my life.

"Oh, you mean one of your sluts!" I spit.

"Victoria, I'm serious about her and I don't want you ruining things!" He starts to lose his cool and I'm really not in the mood for drama.

"But Michael, we always hang out the day back to school. Can't you just ask Tasha?"

Natasha is my sister, who now lives in her own apartment in San Francisco whilst Michael and I live in his house in Los Angeles, as for my parents, well they are just traveling everywhere.

"She said she couldn't make it." He runs his fingers through his hair, an anger endured trait he picked up from our father.

"I'm sorry, but I can't make it." I fold my arms over my chest.

"I'll call her and postpone it." He huffs, frustrated.

"Okay, you can tell me when you're postponing it for so I know not to do anything." I say, feeling a slight pang of guilt hit me.

Sure, he has no time for me, but he is the one that bought me my BMW and keeps my purse full each day.

"Okay, I guess I'll probably be going out tonight too, so careful when you're out." He warns like always.

"Okay, whatever." I mumble.

"Look, because of you my yogurt is gone warm and gross now!" I yell at him, looking at the luke-warm liquid in front of me.

I stand up and chuck the yogurt in the bin, sighing. Well, there goes my snack.

"Too bad!" He chuckles, making his way upstairs to his room.

...

It is already 6p.m. and Michael has already headed out to wherever it is he's going. I decided to have a shower and start getting ready for Gerald's party, so now I'm sitting in front of the mirror waiting for my curling iron to heat up.

Once the wand beeps, I start making loose curls, letting my hair hang loose. I open my makeup drawer and take out some brands, I decide to wing my eyeliner, apply some mascara, a little bronzer and lastly put on my favourite shade of red lipstick.

I smack my lips together to make an obnoxious sound and walk to my closet to find something to wear. Something sexy..

Rolling my eyes, I decide to wear my black, cutout body-con dress. It consists of three black stripes, one to cover my breasts, one of a part of my stomach, then the last one to cover my ass to mid thigh.

I matched them with my single strap black high heeled sandals.

By the time I'm done getting ready it's already 8:10p.m., shit.

I rush to my car and speed of to pick up Ashley. Damn, she's going to kill me.

"Late as usual." Ash rolls her eyes at me when she steps in the car.

"I'm only like, 25 minutes late, who cares."

"Oh, well at least ass-face's house is not far." She scoffs.

"Oh, by the way you're the designated driver home tonight. You can stay at my place." I throw her a hopeful look.

"Yes, I love staying at yours because I get to see your brother shirtless." She stares off into the distance as I make a gagging noise.

"Eww, gross!" I say, disgusted.

As soon as I see his house come into view, I park my car in the garage, yes, I get to park my car in the garage because I'm that great.

We get out of the car and walk into the building, red solo cups scatter the floors and the music causes the whole room to vibrate.

"I'm going to go find Ger, you can find Robert or whatever." I turn to Ashley and walk away.

I scan the room and stop once I spot a familiar brown head. I walk over and wrap my arms around Gerald's chest, indicating that it's me.

"Look who finally made it." He turns around and smirks at me.

"You know me, I only like coming when the party is in full swing." I tilt my head up and peck his cheek.

He wraps his arms around my waist, "You look extremely sexy, you know that?"

"Don't I always?" I smirk.

"Anyone with eyes can see that, babe." His arms pull me closer, making our chests squish against one another.

"How about we get a drink?" I wrap my arms around his neck, licking my lips.

"Come on then, let's get a drink, my lady." He said jokingly and lets go of me, allowing me to make my way to the drinks.

Only as we start walking do I notice how good he looks tonight, he has on a black long sleeve shirt with his sleeves rolled up, and black jeans.

"There you go, Victoria." He hands me my drink and takes a sip out of his own.

I drink from my cup, enjoying the burn while Gerald is bombarded by one of his friends.

"Well hello there, Sunshine." I turn to see Nate smirking down at me, a frustrated huff leaving my mouth at his presence.

I must admit, he does look really good, he has on a leather jacket with a white t-shirt and black jeans.

"Not you!" I complain, not wanting to see him.

"You look beautiful tonight." He looks at me from head to toe, examining me with a smirk.

"Wish I could say the same to you." I reply smugly.

"Ouch!" He replies as another guy turns up next to him.

He too is very good looking, he has short brown hair and blue eyes.

"Hi, I'm Jessie." He smiles, extending his hand for a handshake. I take it surprised, a gentleman.

"Victoria." I return the smile and shake his hand.

"Really? He gets a smile, a straight answer, and a handshake?!" Nate says feigning hurt. Oh, boo-hoo.

"That's because I'm polite unlike you, bro." Jessie laughs.

"Yeah, and I'm guessing Jessie has a better memory." I remark, seeing if my words mean anything to him.

"Hey man!" Gerald comes and greets Nate, doing a bro hug.

"Uhm, you two know each other?" I frown.

"Yeah, he's on the soccer team and he's an amazing player." Gerald replies.

Wow, he's already on the soccer team, he must be good, he don't allow just anyone on there. Nate starts to introduce Jessie to Gerald and I snap out of my thoughts.

"So how do you and Victoria know each other?" Gerald questions Nate.

"We have math together." He replies, winking at me.

"Unfortunately." I murmur.

Yeah and history from two fucking years ago, but you don't seem to remember me from that, do you.

"He's an annoying dick, right?" Jessie turns to me and I nod in agreement.

"Yes! That is exactly what he is, finally someone else see's it." I exclaim.

"Nah, I think you're cool, man." Gerald smirks at me, patting Nate in the back.

"Good for you!" I say sweetly.

"While you kids bicker, I'm going to go and mingle." Jessie winks and walks away.

"So how do you two know each other?" Nate asks Gerald and I.

"We've been friends since middle school." I answer.

"Yeah, I've tolerated all her moods for years." Gerald stands behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"No one forced you to you know!" I snap, trying to get out of his hold. If he finds me an annoying bitch then who is forcing him to be with me? I am sure as hell not!

"Relax babe, I'm just kidding." He laughs, embarrassment flooding through my veins at my overreaction.

"Sorry." I mutter, feeling stupid for snapping at him.

"Looks like mother-flow is paying someone a visit." Nate says, laughing as I glare at him.

"Damn, who is that?" Nate says, checking someone out behind me.

"That, my friend, is Caroline Edwards, cheerleader and second hottest girl in school. You should flirt with her, she'll sleep with any guy." Gerald said.

"Who's the hottest girl?" I question, raising a brow.

"You of course. The most beautiful face, the hottest body and sexiest ass." He smirks, playfully slapping my behind.

"While you two go get a room, I'm going to go and speak to Caroline over there." Nate says, walking away to Caroline the slut-bag.

"His first party and he's already sleeping with someone." I feel disgusted and a little hurt how he has just forgotten me and is now flirting with another girl, but I'll get over it.

"Babe, everyone on the soccer team has Slept with her," he tries to sooth my anger.

"Did you?" I raise a brow.

"Nah, I don't do whores." I laugh at his statement, of course.

"I am seriously not drunk enough!" I say, walking away from Gerald and towards the bar.

I turn to see if Gerald is joining me but seen that he is nowhere to be seen.

"If it isn't miss sexy herself." I hear a voice say.

"Oh no! Not you Jake the jackass!" I moan.

Jake is a serious man whore that has been trying to get in my pants since the beginning of freshman year.

"Awww babe you know you have some sort of feeling towards me. Don't lie." He winks.

"Yeah I do, it's called hatred." I smirk.

"Stop lying to yourself, Victoria." He puts a hand on his chest, feigning a hurt look.

"You know the only reason I haven't murdered you yet is because you're Gerald's friend." I scowl and walk away from him.

I order a tequila from the barman and spot Jessie, walking to him.

"Well if it's not newbie Jessie." I grin at him, downing my drink in a gulp.

"Ooh looks like someone is determined to pass out tonight." He mocks as I down another drink.

"Says the guy who's having the same as me." I retort.

He chuckles, "Hey, who's that blonde girl over there?" He questions.

"Well that's specific." I roll my eyes.

"The one over there with the yellow dress dancing with that guy." He points to the far left corner I squint my eyes, looking for who he's describing and see that he is talking about Ashley and Robert.

"That is my best friend, Ashley Culpo." I say, drinking another shot.

"Wow! She's beautiful!" He says, staring at her.

"Her personality is even more beautiful than her face you know." I tell him. To be honest I think Ashley and Jessie would make a cute couple, I mean Jessie doesn't seem like a bad guy and he's cute, so why not try and hook them up?

"Is that her boyfriend she's dancing with?" He asks, looking a little disappointed.

"Who, Robert?" I laugh, "Sorry, but he doesn't swing that way."

"Oh okay, well that's interesting." He says, looking awkward.

"Okay, why are you acting so awkward now?" I raise a brow.

"Well, because I've been trying to talk to her all night, and I kept on thinking that he was her boyfriend, so yeah I feel kinda stupid." He says sheepishly.

"The night's still young, bro! Get your ass there and talk to her!" I literally push him while laughing my ass off. Yeah I am definitely drunk enough.

"Damn girl, how drunk are you?" He laughs at me.

"Not drunk enough." I wink.

"Now go talk to her! Oh and if you hurt her in any way I will cut off your balls." I warn and walk away to dance before he could reply.

I start dancing by myself to Drake's 'One Dance'. I know what you think, how lonely I am to be dancing on my own, but to be honest I preferred to be dancing on my own then with some guy who will just want to get in my pants.

"Damn girl, you got moves!" I hear Jake remark and I walk away as soon as I hear his voice.

"Oh c'mon, at least have a drink with me?" He catches up with me. Damn, soccer players.

"I think I'll take a pass." I say, annoyed.

"Please. Just one." He pleads, widening his eyes.

"Fine. But it's only because I'm drunk!" I sigh.

"Great!" He smirks and goes over to get a drink.

"There you go, Victoria." He smirks and hands me my drink.

I drink it in one gulp so I can satisfy him and leave, not wanting to hang about.

"There you go, I have had a drink, now I'm going to leave you."

I walk away, my steps faltering and not following the pattern of a regular line; my head moves faster than my body and I end up tumbling down to the floor. I let out a light yelp, waiting for the impact, but someone quickly catches me.

"Woah! Be careful there!" I hear Nate say as he puts me on my feet.

"You know I can look after myself!" I snap.

"Hey, I was just making sure you didn't fall and crack your skull." He defends.

I just nod and brush him off, walking away.

I start to feel extremely hazy and weak so I decide to go upstairs to Gerald's room. I don't why I feel like this, I wasn't feeling like this at all earlier on.

I reach the upper floor from where the party is, it is deserted and all I can hear is the thumping of music from downstairs.

As soon as I wrap my fingers around the door knob I feel someone grip my wrist tightly.

"Going to bed while the party is still going on?" Jake asks, smirking at me.

"Jake...you dick, you spiked my drink!" I yell at him, my speech starting to slur.

"Shhh! We don't want anyone hearing us now, do we?" He coaxes.

I try to break free from his grip but I am too weak to, my body only being able to carry out slow movements.

"Let go o-" I try to yell but he puts his hand in front of my mouth, silencing me.

He moves his hand from my mouth and puts it down in places that make me extremely uncomfortable.

"How about we go in that room and have some fun?" He whispers in my ear, nipping at it.

"Let go of me you son of a bitch!" I yell but he slaps me across the face, shutting me up once again.

"You want me to let go of you, huh?" He asks, pressing his body against mine.

I start to feel even more hazy, I'm so useless, usually I can protect myself but now I'm completely and utterly useless. For the first time ever I feel like crying, not because of what Jake wanted to do to me, but because I feel so horrible and weak.

"Let go of her!" A familiar masculine voice demands.

"And what are you going to do if I don't?" Jake challenges, standing up from his position beside the bed.

"Do you really want to know?" I look up and squint, trying to identify the other voice. When I see his face my eyes widen in shock. Nate.

"What's it to you if I harm her in anyway? It's not like she even likes you." Jake scoffs, getting cocky.

I feel even worse now, my head is spinning yet banging at the same time, making me clutch my hair in pain.

Suddenly I feel Jake's body move away from mine and being shoved by no doubt Nate. Nate punches him and all I can see is blood pooling around Jake.

"That should teach you a fucking lesson!" He spits and rushes over to my side.

"Are you okay? Please, please be okay." He rapidly brushes my loose strands of hair out of my face.

"I-I'm fine.." I mumble, my words barely coming out.

"Did he touch you, I swear to god if he has touched you-"

"He didn't." I partially lie, he did touch me but it never lead to anything.

He stays silent, not believing my words. He begins to shuffle, picking me up in his arms and carrying me out of the room.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask weakly.

"To get you to a safe place to sleep." He replies.

"Nate?" I whisper, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.

"Yeah?" He asks, turning down to look at me.

I can feel myself getting closer and closer to passing out, but I push the words out of me.

"Do you remember who I am?" My arms fall womb at my sides as he halts his movements, moving his head further down so we are practically touching nose to nose.

"Of course I do. How could I ever forget you sunshine? You're my world.." He says softly and kisses my forehead.

I smile at his answer and close my eyes, leaning into his chest as I slowly fall into oblivion.
