Chapter Three

Chapter edited by mon-princesse

Chapter 3:

I wake up and look around at my surroundings. Wait, this isn't my room!

I jolt out of the bed to see where I am. I look down and see I am still wearing my dress from the previous night. Thank god.

The room is really big, it has wooden furniture everywhere with a huge King sized bed.

I walk forward into what looks like a lounge in the room, and head over to the couch to find Nate fast asleep on the couch.

"What the fuck am I doing in his room?" I think aloud.

I decide to wake up the idiot and find out what the hell happened last night.

"Get up!" I yell, lightly hitting him until he woke up.

"What the fu-" he started but stopped midway when he sees that it's  me.

"You do know it's like 6 am, right?" He asks, running his hand over his face.

"What I don't know is what the hell I'm doing in your bedroom?"

"I brought you here."

"I think I figured that bit out, you dumbass!" I sigh irritably.

He gets up from the couch and jumps onto his bed.

"You will not go to sleep until you tell me what the hell happened last night!" I demand.

"Sunshine, it's too early in the morning for me to explain things." I glare at him while he just sighs, rubbing his hands down his face.

"What's the last thing you remember from last night?" He questions, now sitting up on his bed.

I search my memory for anything from last night, and not a lot comes up.

"Well, I remember speaking to Jessie..."

"That's all?"

"I also remember dancing...I remember Jake flirting with me..." I try to think harder but come up with nothing,"that's where it goes blank."

"Guess it's story time then." He says, running his fingers through his hair and gestures for me to sit down next to him.

I walk over and sit down next to him with an impatient look etched onto my face.

"Okay, so it all started with Jake getting you a drink..." He starts to explain.

By the time he was done I was so angry. I want to kill Jake! How dare he spike my drink and try to take advantage of me?! I may have been weak last night but I am completely normal today and super pissed.

"I am going to kill that son of bitch!" I yell.

"Woah calm down, feisty pants." Nate says, trying to calm me down.

"What happened after you hit him?" I question, ignoring his statement.

"Well, you were too weak to walk so I carried you and brought you here. By the time we reached my house you were already asleep."

"Well thank you for what you did but I should get going, I have school and I don't want your parents seeing me leave and think I'm one of your little sluts." I say, getting up from his bed.

"And how do you plan on leaving?" He smirks.

"Shit! I don't have a car." I run a hand through my hair in irritation.

"I'll drop you off. Just let me at least brush my teeth and put on some clothes."

"Fine, go ahead kill more of my damn time." I say sarcastically.

"Look I know you enjoy seeing me without a shirt, but what would people think if they saw us?" He teases.

"Stop being an idiot and hurry up! My head hurts and I just want to have a warm shower and get out of last night's clothes." I moan, holding my head as I feel a headache forming.

While Nate changed I looked at my phone and see a hundred text messages, most of them from Ashley.

I ignore her messages and decide to call her instead.

"Hello?" Ashley answers, sounding half asleep.

"Where are you?" I ask, feeling no need to introduce who it is on the phone.

"Oh my god, Victoria! Where are you? I've been worried sick!" She exclaims, sounding more awake.

"That doesn't answer my question, blondie." I point out. Nate was done changing and looks to be waiting for me.

"I'm at home." Ashley answers.

"How did you get home?"

"Jessie dropped me off, since you ditched me!"

"Looks like you two bonded." I grin. I knew it'll work.

"Shut up! Now it's your time to explain!" She says irritably.

"I'll explain when I see you. Right now I gotta get home." I say and cut the call before she presses on the topic more.

"Ready?" Nate turns to me.

"Yeah I am. And you're sure that your parents won't see me right?"

"My parents," he laughs," they aren't even at home, sunshine."

"So you're alone?" I raise a brow.

"My sister is here with me."

"Oh."

"Where are your parents?" I add.

"I honestly have no fucking idea." He says looking annoyed so I don't press the subject any further.

"So where exactly am I taking you?" He groans as we get in to his Mustang.

"My house." I reply.

"Isn't your brother going to kill you? He is like super strict." He raises his brow.

"I'll just say I stayed over at Ashley's." I shrug.

"Wait. How do you know he's strict?" I frown.

"Lucky guess." He shrugs, smirking to himself.

Maybe he does remember me, or maybe not. Ugh, why do I even care!

"Well I may be hot and everything else any girl could possibly want, but I unfortunately don't have a GPS programmed in my brain." Nate breaks me out of my reverie.

"Oh sorry! I'll direct you there." I give him simple directions for the next five minutes until we pull up outside of my house.

"See you at school." I jump out of his car, waving goodbye.

"See ya, sunshine!" He winks and drives away.

I get in my room unnoticed by Michael and see that it's already 7:30 which means I only have an hour to get ready for 'hell'.

After taking a shower, swallowing two aspirins and shoving the whole card in my bag, I decide to call Gerald and tell him my car is still in his garage.

"Hey Victoria! What's up?" He asks casually.

"Well, I kinda left my car at your house last night, along with my bag which has my car key in it. Which means I need you to come and pick me up with my car then we can go to school together."

"Okay I'll see you in five." He says, and I ended the call.

"I'm heading out to work now, see you later." Michael waves on his way out.

"Bye." I reply as he walks out of the house, the sound of his car taking off.

Thank goodness he didn't question me, that wouldn't of gone well...

I walk outside, locking the door on my way and sit on the porch steps. After six minutes of anxiously waiting for my car to return, it comes into view and pull towards my house, I immediately open the drivers door.

"Get out of my baby, he's back in my position now." I wait impatiently for Gerald to get out.

"Not even a thank you?" He teases.

"You wish that I would thank you for driving my baby." I glower.

"I was doing you a favour, you know." He smirks.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes.

"So the weirdest thing happened to me." Gerald frowns.

"What?" I ask, keeping my eyes on the road.

"I found a passed out Jake with blood all over his face and with what looked like a broken nose."

"Maybe he had too much to drink." I joked, not wanting to tell him what happened.

"No, it looked like someone beat him up. When he woke up I sent him to the hospital to check on his nose."

"Oh well, that's why you should be careful while drinking." I park my car in the lot, turning to him.

"Speaking of last night, how did you get home?" He questions with his arm slung around my shoulder as we walk towards our lockers.

"I'll explain the full story at lunch, okay?" I said, grabbing my books.

"Everything okay?" He asks, a worried look edged into his face.

"Yeah, everything is fine." I smile.

"Okay, I'll see you at lunch." He kisses my forehead and walks to class.

I walk towards my English class which I share with Ashley; I take my usual seat next to my blonde best friend.

"Okay I'm waiting." She looks at me, waiting for an explanation.

"Good morning to you too, dear friend." I reply sarcastically.

"Don't blame me, I'm just learning from you." She says with a scowl.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Victoria, explain to me what the hell happened!" She demands.

"Ash, we're in class, I'll explain at lunch, okay?" I tell her a bit too loudly which earned us a glare from the teacher.

"Okay fine!" She gives in.

My morning classes pass by in a blur and it was already lunch time in no time.

I am putting my books in my locker when a certain brunette stands in front of me.

"Hey there, sunshine." Nate greets.

"Hi." I greet back nonchalantly.

"How are you on this fine Tuesday morning?" He grins.

"Annoyed."

"So am I only getting one word answers now?" He pouts.

By this time  we are already walking over to my lunch table with my friends, well I am; he's just following after me.

"Why are you following me?" I ask, annoyed.

"Because my best friend seems to be enjoying your best friend's company and I don't feel like sitting with the rest of the team."

He points out and I look and see that Jessie is indeed sitting next to Ashley at our lunch table with Robert, who looks beyond annoyed.

"Hey Rob, Jessie." I greet them both.

"Hey Victoria." Jessie greets cheerfully. Looks like he and Ashley are getting along well.

"Finally you're here! It's like these two are having sex with their eyes!" Robert complains, and I laugh at his open statement.

"Shut up, Rob!" Ashley glares at him and Jessie just chuckles.

I take a seat on the table, while Nate sits next to me.

"Victoria, remember what you said in English?" Ashley says, looking at me seriously.

"Wait till Gerald gets here." Ashley just rolls her eyes in response at me.

"Let me guess, everyone wants to know what happened last night?" Nate asks me quietly.

"Unfortunately, yes." I sigh.

Just then Gerald comes and sits next to me with his arm around my waist, making me lean into him.

"I believe you were going to explain?" He looks at me intensely.

"But my head hurts!" I moan like a child, and I hear Nate chuckle beside me.

"You know you didn't greet Nate, right?" I say, trying to avoid the subject.

"I have seen him earlier on. Now explain, Victoria." He says seriously, by now the whole table is staring at me, expect for Nate.

"Yeah for once, dumbass Gerald is right." Ashley chirps.

"Fine. I'll explain then. Can you back me up?" I ask Nate and he nods with an assuring smile on his face. By now everyone looks even more confused.

Nate and I explain everything to the others, well expect for the part where I stayed at his house of course.

"Wait what? I have seen that guy over there with you when you left. I just thought he was someone you knew so I left it." Jessie says looking guilty. I really don't know why he looks so guilty when he obviously didn't do anything.

Ashley looks shocked and Robert seems angry. As for Gerald, well I don't think anyone's jaw could possibly be clenched any harder.

"Gerald?" I ask cautiously.

"I'm going to kill that motherfucker!" He stands up angrily and heads towards where the rest of the team are sitting.

I get up to follow him and Nate soon joins.

Gerald storms over to where Jake is sitting and grabs him by the collar, shoving him against the wall. By now the whole school is watching.

"Gerald just let it go! Nate gave him what he deserved. He's not worth it." To be honest, I really didn't want to be miss damsel in distress again.

"Nate just broke his nose, I want to break his neck!" Gerald grits between clenched teeth.

Gerald punches Jake in the face multiple times while Jake tries to fight back, but Gerald is too strong for him.

By now, Jake had blood all over himself and I'm pretty sure he had a few broken teeth.

"Okay Gerald that's enough!" I yell, trying to stop him from killing Jake, but it was futile.

"Wait, I'll try and break this up." Nate hesitates and walks over.

Nate, who is a bit taller than Gerald, goes over and yanks Gerald away from a beat Jake.

"Okay, I think that's enough." He says, pulling him away.

"It will only be enough when the bastard is dead." He says between gritted teeth.

"Well I don't think Victoria will be too pleased with you being a murderer." Nate whispers quietly but I was close enough to hear.

The principal walks over to see what all the commotion is about. Great, the fucking principal decided to join the party!

"What is going on here?" He asks, looking shocked at a very bloody and weak Jake.

"Everybody be quiet and get to class, lunch time is over." Mr. Wiles demands.

The crowd scatters and walks away, still whispering about what just happened. I sigh at all the attention.

"Mr Iver, Mr Elington and Ms Aldaine, follow me to my office. And somebody please get this poor boy to the hospital." Mr Wiles stands tiredly.

Great! Now I'm going to be in fucking detention.

We walk quietly to Mr Wiles' office. Gerald still has the look of a mass murderer on his face.

"Someone please explain to me what happened?" Mr Wiles takes a seat on his chair and gestures for one of us to say anything.

"Not much to explain really, see Gerald over here couldn't contain his anger issues and freaked out at Jake, because I was stupid enough to tell him about Jake being a fucking pervert. Now because of Gerald being a complete idiot, me and Nate got caught up in this mess." I glare at Gerald.

"You do realise that the three of you are in major trouble, right? Especially you, Mr. Iver." He places his finger on the bridge of his nose, looking tired of us.

"Hey, I did nothing bad! In fact I did good by breaking up the fight!" Nate defends.

I kick him in the shin with a glare. "Ouch." He complains.

"What you are going to do is, forgot this ever happened and let all three of us leave with no punishment." Gerald says.

"And why would I do that, Mr Iver?"

"If you still want your job and your money, then I suggest you do that." He threatens, smirking.

Gerald's dad is a pretty big deal around this area. He is really rich and powerful, if he wanted he could strip anyone of whatever they have. Gerald's mom died when he was 13 which is why his dad would give him anything he ever wanted, because Gerald is all he has.

"Very well then, you three may go off and get back to your daily classes." Mr Wiles leads us out.

As soon as we walk out Gerald just walks away.

"Gerald wait!" I call after him but he just ignores me and continues walking.

"Well that went easier than I expected." Nate grins.

"Yeah Gerald's dad is really powerful around here. He would do anything his son asks him to." I answer, walking toward my locker to get my books for the last class of the day.

"Remind me not to ever get on his bad side." Nate jokes.

"You'll probably not even say anything and still get on his bad side. His anger issues are insufferable." I roll my eyes in annoyance.

"Well there is practice today after school so I'll see if I can get him to speak to you." Nate smiles.

"Good luck with that." I give him a thumbs up and walk away.

After class I head to the soccer fields in search for Gerald.

My phone buzzes in my pocket and I look down to see who's sent me a text.

To Me,
From Ashley:
Hey, when you get back home call me, I think we need to talk about everything that happened. Xoxo :)

I read the text, and honestly I can really use a talk with Ashley, I feel like she is the only person that understands sometimes.

To Ashely,
From Me:
Yeah, I'll text you as soon as I get home.

I walk over to the locker rooms and ignore all the weird stares I get from the rest of the team.

I walk to Gerald's locker and find him shirtless with only his soccer shorts on.

"So, you still ignoring me?" I ask, giving him a playful punch on his chest.

"I'm not ignoring you." He replies curtly.

"Well you're still being a dick." I glare.

Instead of saying anything he just wraps him arms around me and pulls me into his chest. I lean into him while he strokes my back soothingly.

"You know how angry I get when anyone has to hurt you in any way? All I can think about is hurting that person." He says softly, still stroking my back.

"I know. You're just mad like that."

He chuckles and kisses the top of my head, smiling widely.

"Aren't you getting late for practice?" I ask as I'm still in his tight embrace.

"Yeah, but I don't wanna let go of you."

I move my hands from his chest as he moves his hands to my waist. I wrap my hands around his neck and kiss his cheek.

"You know I have to drive you home, right?"

"Yes, I do which means you have to wait for me." He winks.

"Exactly! So get your ass out there and hurry up! I don't have all day waiting, you know." I scowl.

He laughs." Okay, okay I'm going." He lets go of me and pulls out a shirt, pulling it over his head.

"Eww you hugged me with no shirt on." I wrinkle my nose.

"That's what you say, but inside you're gloating that you got to touch my sexy abs." He smirks.

"In your wildest dreams, darling." I wink and walk out to the bleachers.

As I'm walking out I grab my phone from my pocket, clicking on Nate's contact.

To Nate,
From me:
No need to speak to Gerald, I spoke to him and everything is good.

And with that text to Nate my next hour is filled with social networking.

"Finally you're done! I've been waiting forever!" I complain as Gerald packs his things.

"Geez, it wasn't that long." He shakes his head at me.

The ride to Gerald's house is pretty quiet, just a little small talk here and there. After a few minutes of silence, we pull up in his driveway.

"Okay we're here, you can get out now."

"Rude much?" Gerald says, getting out.

"I'm never polite." I smile sarcastically at him.

"You coming in?" He asks.

"No I think I'm going to head home. Ashley wants to talk to me, I won't be surprised if she's already waiting for me." I roll my eyes.

"Okay tell blondie I said hi." He jokes and leans down to kiss me on the cheek."Bye."

I smile at him and close my window, driving away and back home.
