Chapter one~ lockdown

As I walked into the music room, I heard something that didn't sound right, almost like a firework had gone off in the west corridors, but I shrugged it off.

It was the third day of first term, and so far, I absolutely hated school. It was my first year at Streamwood Academy, and of course I was the only person that moved to a new place over Summer holiday.

Except, I saw... Well, I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw Caden Latenson joking with his new friends, how he made new friends already, I don't know.

Caden was the only person I recognized from my old school, and he was kind of my crush. But then again, who could resist his blond hair in a half quiff, his green eyes, like a forest in the midst of spring. Teeth straight as boards and white as snow. And don't get me started on the body.

We had all taken our places, waiting for the teacher to come in to the room. I caught myself staring at Caden every once and a while. He would look back, we would both blush a fierce Crimson.

The teacher walked in out of breath.

"Class, we are going on lockdown." She said, eyes wide, on the verge of tears.

"Mr.Vaisman has been shot on the other side of the campus, and we are to immediately hide." She told us.

I felt like screaming, but instead, I just stood up quietly, walking over to the supply closet that was in the room. We were supposed to hide in there, and we did, but I didn't notice that he was right behind me.  We all sat on the floor silently, everyone in too much shock to speak. And, if we spoke we would be noticed.

We were crammed tightly, in the dark, so that was extremely comfortable.

The minutes, the hours, they ticked by. All in silence. Not a phone out of a pocket, not a whisper or a giggle. Just silence, darkness, and tension in the air.

A few BOOMS and BAMS here and there. Every one flinched every time there was a noise.

"Another one gone. Into the hands of the lord. Remembered and loved." Miss Delaynie would whisper.

Fear was one word to describe the situation. Fear and sadness.

I looked at my watch, and even though it was dark, I could make 6:30 out.

I then felt something warm around my arm. I looked over and Caden had his arm around me. He pulled me into a hug, and gave me a look saying everything would be alright.

I put my head on his shoulder and silently cried a bit. It felt nice to have someone to lean on. A couple of people looked our way and made stupid faces, but I didn't care. I was in his arms, and that's what mattered.

Miss Delaynie made a concerned face, hoping that we wouldn't be in there much longer, having been in there for 4 hours so far.

Looking around, most people were asleep, so I decided to cuddle into Caden's chest. I felt him smile, since his face was on my head. I fell asleep in his arms.

I woke up to see that I was still melted into him, and smiled, seeing that people were on their phones and it was the middle of the night. I checked Instagram, and blushed. All of the girls in the room tagged me in a photo with Caden. We were both asleep, cuddled into each other, smiling.

Captions like "So cute!!!" Or "Lockdown Love"

And I knew, that he was mine.

All because of a Lockdown.
