Chapter 4 Learning
The four made their way to the library, hoping that they could get some answers to what's going on in Tina's house. Tina themselves also hoped that they could find out what was going on in their house. They were rather tense as they worried about what had happened to the ghosts in the house and who this person they were talking about was.
"Hey Tina you alright?" Anissa asked.
"Oh yeah I'm fine, just a little tense to find out about what's going on in my home." Tina explained.
"Hey I'm sure you'll be fine, as soon as we figure out what's going on you'll get your answers." Tambrey reassured them.
"Yeah and if you ever feel scared to stay in your house you can spend the night with us." Alexia explained.
"Thanks guys that help me out a lot." Tina said as they hugged their new friends.
The three girls smiled and hugged Tina right back while smiling, happy that they were able to make Tina feel better.
"Hey you four move it!" A voice called out rudely.
The four looked and saw a guy with a black vest, a blue undershirt, blue pants, black shoes, and Auburn hair standing there with an annoyed look on his face. They all scooted over allowing him to walk by them. As he passed he looked at Tina and studied them from top to bottom.
'She's cute and has good taste, but I wish her hair was a little longer, I like a girl with long hair.' The guy thought to himself as he continued on his way.
After he walked away Tina wondered who he was and why he looked them over like that.
"Um who's that?" Tina asked.
"Oh that's Sam I think, he's a lone wolf and a little strange. He was always seemingly staring at nothing and he'd also wanted to become The Godmother's apprentice and become a psychic as well. However she wasn't really looking for anyone to take her place so he'd always get rejected." Alexia explained.
"Yeah sorry if he seemed a little rude, I don't know if it's just something about being a lone wolf, or it's just himself in general." Tambrey explained.
"It's alright, let's just go. I want to find out what's going on inside my house ASAP!" Tina exclaimed.
The four then made their way to the library and once they got there they started looking around for any information on her home. However after a few hours they couldn't find anything related to the house.
"Ugh Damit! How hard is it to just find information on an old house!" Tina exclaimed angrily.
"Really hard considering that old house is the oldest one in the whole town, and considering folks who move in, move out after a few months it hasn't been well kept." Alexia explained.
"Well still if I can't find out what's going on in my house I don't wanna live there! However, knowing how stubborn my parents are, they won't be moving out of that house anytime soon!" Tina exclaimed angrily.
"Hey Tina, it's going to be alright! We'll find something in the house and hopefully the cross Tambrey gave you will help you out, not to mention you also have those beads!" Anissa explained, reassuring Tina.
"Thanks for helping me out a little." Tina said.
"Hey Tina I found something in your house, or at least the first owner." Tambrey called out.
Tina got up and walked over to Tambrey and she saw that Tambrey had an article on the house on the computer.
"It says here that a man named Erebos had owned the house alongside his daughter Maddie. He was a well known priest who'd given everyone faith during the darkest time in history, when he was young from world war I, to the great depression, and into world war II. However a year after world war II ended he suddenly died with no explanation, then a month later his daughter also died within the house again with no explanation. No one ever figured out how they did or why they died, so the case turned cold." Tambrey explained.
"Is that true, but does not explain why there are ghosts in my h- Wait Tambrey scroll up!" Tina exclaimed as she saw something.
Tambrey scrolled up a bit till Tina told her to stop again, and she saw a picture of a young man who looked like he had given up on life.
"I saw that man's ghost in my house! He had a rope around his neck!" Tina explained.
"Hmm it said here his name was Marshall and when the great depression was about to end he had committed suicide in the house via hanging himself. It also said that he used to be the assistant of Erebos and it was also said he said he could see ghosts, much like you Tina." Tambrey explained.
"That's unsettling, but that does explain why he had a rope around his neck, but if he killed himself why would he be saying that someone else killed him?" Tina explained.
"Hmm well there could be more to his death than what others think, so maybe that's why he said those things to you." Tambrey explained.
"Ugh! I'm tired and my head hurts from all this thinking!" Tina exclaimed frustrated.
"Hey why don't we try again another day! We can head out and go to the local bakery! I heard they're releasing a new kind of cake today and I wanna try it!" Anissa exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah I think that'll help me feel a little better." Tina said.
"Yeah and I'm feeling hungry so why not?" Alexia asked.
"Yay! Let's go then!" Anissa exclaimed excitedly.
The four then left the library and headed out to the bakery to enjoy some sweets and unwind.
(Meanwhile with Sam)
Sam stood in front of the Godmother's old shop with a shocked look on his face. The shop had a sign on it that said foreclosed, which told him that it was closed now.
"W-What the heck?! Why is this shop closed?! It's never closed at this time?!" Sam exclaimed, surprised and angry at the news.
"Oh the godmother? She got sick and coughed up blood after her last customer visited. She's alive but can't speak anymore so she's staying with her son and his family now." A cleaner explained.
"What! Who was her last customer here?" Sam demanded to know.
"I think it was the new girl in town, she was about your size, black neutral cut hair, a black and white striped skirt, and a white shoulderless shirt with frills at the top that also had ghosts on it." The cleaner explained.
'What about her?! What does she have to do with this?!' Sam thought to himself angrily as he walked away.
As he walked he looked around and saw the faint figures of the ghosts in the area. Like Tina, Sam could also see ghosts, however unlike her they were a lot more faint to him then they are to her.
'My name is Sam, I'm fifteen years old and I can see ghosts. I've been able to see them ever since I was a kid, and I've always been an oddball because of it. My parents thought I'd outgrow it, but I never did. I didn't care, I embraced it but I never could find anyone else like me. So I wanted to become the Godmother's apprentice and be a psychic like her. I'm also a lone wolf and I prefer it that way as no one else has such an amazing ability like me so I don't bother to talk to anyone.' Sam thought to himself as he monologue about himself.
As he walked along the streets he couldn't stop thinking about Tina and her connection to what happened to the Godmother.
"Why did she get sick after seeing that new girl?" Sam asked himself as he walked.
"Hey Tina, the bakery is this way!" Sam heard Anissa shout.
He looked up and saw her with her other three friends. He looked at Tina and saw that they seemed to be emotionally disturbed like they saw something get run over by a train. He then looked at Anissa and saw that she was about to walk through a ghost.
"Hey Anissa there's a spider!" Tina exclaimed, making Anissa stop in her tracks right before she passed through the ghost.
"Ahh! Where! I hate spiders!" Anissa screamed as she backed away from the spot.
'What the?! She kept her friend from passing through the ghost! Wait, can she see them too? I need to know, then there could be someone else here like me! Hey she's also very cute so maybe we can even be lovers, who knows?' Sam thought to himself as he secretly followed the group to the bakery.
Once they all got their Anissa ran up to the counter to look for the new cake that was on display.
"Oh Oh oh! Guys Guys Guys! Look Look Look! I found it! It's called Unicorn delight! It's so colorful!" Anissa exclaimed excitedly as she looked at the display of cakes and other sweets.
The others all walked up to the display and saw the cake Anissa was talking about. They all ordered the cake to give it a try and see if it was good. After getting their cake the four sat down at a table and began eating.
"Mmh this is good! Anissa you have good taste in sweets!" Tina exclaimed.
"Hehe thanks! I've always loved to eat anything sweet without a care in the world!" Anissa exclaimed happily.
"Yeah you do! No matter what, you've always eaten anything that was sweet." Alexia explained.
The four chatted for a little while and soon they heard the shop's bell ring indicating someone had entered the shop. They looked and saw that Sam had entered the shop, he walked up to the counter and ordered something. The four ignored him and went back to their conversation, getting to know one another.
As they talked Tina felt someone staring at them, so they looked behind Alexia and Tambrey and saw Sam sitting at a table behind the two. They saw that he was looking up at them but he soon looked down at his phone and was eating.
'Strange? Was he looking at me? Na he had to have been looking in my direction and not at me.' Tina thought to themselves.
Soon they had to go to the bathroom so Tina got up and informed their friends that they needed to use the restroom. After informing their friends they got up and went to the bathroom to do their business, Sam meanwhile got up and followed Tina intending on confronting them about what they did earlier. When Tina got into the bathroom they felt uneasy, but they shrugged it off and went into the first stall.
However when they opened the door they saw the ghost of a dead woman who was bleeding severely from her downstairs. She was also holding the ghost of her dead baby in her arms. Tina felt their heart jump as they saw that the ghost looked up at them.
"Don't come in here! Don't bother me or my child!" the ghost screamed angrily, scaring the black color out of Tina's hair.
They closed the door terrified to their very core and feeling like they'd just lost their appetite.
"I think I'll go home once I'm done here, I just hope mom and dad are home." Tina said to themselves.
Tina then went into the next stall and was relieved to have found it empty and free of ghosts. So they went in and used the stall, after they were done they washed their hands and left the bathroom. However when Tina left the bathroom they were greeted by Sam who was leaning against the wall.
"Oh hey you're done there, that's good, I want to ask you something." Sam explained.
"Um... what are you talking about?" Tina asked awkwardly as they looked around the place.
"Can you see ghosts like me?" Sam asked bluntly.
Tina tensed up as they didn't know how to respond, they looked around and saw the ghost of a man whose eyes were missing from his sockets and black ghostly blood was pooling out of his sockets.
"Um I-I don't know what you're talking about." Tina stated as they didn't want to draw unwanted attention to themselves (mainly from the ghosts).
"Don't play stupid with me. I know you can see them a little miss, like that one over there I can see its figure." Sam explained while pointing to the ghost's figure.
The male ghost shrieked as Sam stated that information, this scared Tina badly.
"Leave! Leave our house now! My wife and I want to be alone!" The ghost man screamed.
"I-I have to go, my parents will be home soon so I need to leave!" Tina excused very quickly and speed walked away from Sam and the ghost that was scaring them.
They made their way to the table and explained to their friends that they were taking off.
"Hey guys I'm heading out, my parents will be home soon so I need to go home." Tina quickly explained, visibly shaken.
"Hey T you alright?" Anissa asked.
"Y-Yeah I just saw two ghosts in here and I want to leave ASAP." Tina explained.
"Oh that's understandable, hey what kind of ghosts were they?" Tambrey asked.
"I'll explain it later. I'm too spooked out right now." Tina explained.
"Alright, wanna take your cake with you?" Anissa asked.
"Y-Yeah thanks." Tian said.
Anissa nodded and grabbed Tina's cake and had it boxed up for them before giving it back to them.
"Thanks Anissa, I'll see you all later." Tina said as they left the shop and made their way home.
As they walked they noticed that the sun was setting and the surrounding area was getting darker and darker. They decided to speed walk not wanting to get caught in the dark as they didn't know how the ghosts would be in the dark. As they walked they passed by a walking trail that went into the town's local woods.
When they passed by the entrance they spotted something out of the corner of their eye. They looked over and were horrified to see a man standing their, his throat and wrists were slashed and he had black ghostly blood coming out of his wounds. Tina felt their heart start racing as the darkness did not help make the scene any better.
They then tried to walk away however the man lunged at them and grabbed onto them.
"I need your help." The man whispered into their ear.
"I'll take you to where she tried to dispose of me and when I do, call the police and have them take care of the wrest. When they ask you questions, tell them the name Shelly Nora." The ghost whispered into their ear.
Tina then felt their legs move on their own as they wandered into the trail.
'What is happening?! What Is happening?! WHAT THE FUCKING HELL IS HAPPENING?!' Tina thought to themselves as the ghost made them walk to who knows where.
All Tina could do was watch as the ghost brought them to where he wanted to take them. They tried to clench onto the prayer beads they were given however they couldn't even move their hand anymore. They soon arrived at a point that was kinda deep into the forest and Tina was terrified for what was to come next. The ghost then finally let go of them and he walked up to a big tree before looking back to Tina.
"Look behind this tree with your flashlight and you'll find my body." The ghost demanded.
Scared that he'll try something if they disobeyed Tina grabbed their phone out of their skirts pocket and turned the flashlight on. They walked around to the back of the tree, when they got there they saw a big duffle bag that looked big enough to fit a body.
When Tina realized that they felt beyond scared for their life as they had a terrible gut feeling. Against their better judgment they went up to the bag and unzipped it... and to their horror the ghost's man's body was shoved inside, and just like his ghost his body had slashes on his neck and wrists.
Tina screamed as they jumped back and fell to the ground with a terrified look on their face. Their heart was pounding against their ribcage and they felt a cold sweat start dripping down their body. They began to feel nauseous as the smell of the corpse entered their nose and the sight itself made them sick.
Tina then had a surge of adrenaline go through their entire body as they feared that the killer would return to dispose of the body soon. So they got up and ran for it as fast as they could back to the streets.
When they got there they almost collapsed from how fast they were breathing. They then threw up from the fear they felt and how much they were running.
"OMG ARE YOU ALRIGHT!" Tina heard a woman scream as they threw up.
They felt someone put their hand on their back, they looked back and saw a woman with a worried look on her face. They also saw a man who theta assumed to be her boyfriend.
Tina was too panicked to explain what had just happened and just screamed as loud as they could "CALL THE POLICE!"
They then sat there as the woman became scared and tried to comfort them and her boyfriend called the police. The authorities soon arrived and Tina took them to the location where they found the bag and sure enough it was still in the same place they left it. The police seized the bag and called Tina's parents to inform them about the situation. Their parents soon arrived and when they did they were both frantic with worry as they ran up to their child and hugged them.
"Tina what happened?! Are you okay?! Why were you out here all by yourself?!" Angelica asked worriedly about her child.
"Honey, let's not ask too many questions right now, let's wait till Tina has calmed down as she looks very disturbed, right?" Angelico asked his child.
"Y-Yes dad I think that's the best way to go about it right now." Tina explained.
"Hey Sir, ma'am we need to ask you both some questions, same with your kid." An officer explained.
Tina then felt their mouth start moving on its own and their voice said "Shelly Nora" which made their parents and the police officer look at them.
The officer wrote the name down with a stern look on his face.
"M-Mom dad can I wrest in the car, I don't want to be asked any questions right now." Tina explained.
"Officer, is that alright?" Angelico asked, wanting to know if it was alright with the officer.
"Yes sir, you all can come by the station later and answer any questions we may have." The officer explained.
The parents smiled as Angelica picked up her child and brought her to the car.
"Me and your father will be back later we're just going to answer some of the officers' questions so you just sit here and try to calm down." Angelica explained before she closed the car door and left.
Tina sat up and hugged their legs as tight as they could and held on to the cross Tambrey gave them. They looked outside and saw their parents talking with the officer, then the ghost man came into view and pressed up against the car window while looking directly at Tina.
Tina felt fear coursing through their veins, that was until the dark aura around the ghost got brighter and his injuries slowly faded away. Soon he looked like what he possibly had looked like before he was murdered and he smiled down at Tina.
He had become an angelic ghost and he mouthed "thank you" before disappearing from view.
When Tina saw that they felt relaxed for a while till they passed out from the intense fear and adrenaline going through them.
