Tyler's POV
"Beta! Come quickly!" I heard Jaylin's voice echo throughout the forest. It must be important since he didn't think to mind link me. My ears perked at the sound of his voice and commotion, and I found my way to Jackson's soldiers standing around in a circle. I walked through as they separated for me to do so. I saw my twin sister standing there with her head down, inches away from where the pack lines start.
"Hey Ty. " She refused to look up at me, and I hugged her. She didn't hug back. I could tell something was wrong.
"I'm so sorry, Ty. I promise I didn't mean to come here." She sounded like she was almost in tears.
"Hey, hey it's ok. What's wrong Morning?" She finally looked up, her eyes glossy with tears. She held up her phone which held a picture of me and my best friend, Xavier, standing beside each other. I was confused at why she was showing me this.
"He's after you, after Melynie. You have to tell Jackson and let me come in or he'll kill me." I widened my eyes. There was no possible way.
"No, why?" I said to Morning. She looked scared and frantically looked around.
"Just, please, contact Jackson. I need to explain! I can't here. He'll come after me. After us. Tyler please!" She looked more scared than she's ever been.
I took a few steps back.
"Morning, I know Jackson said that he'd let you in, but let me go get him just to make sure!"
"Tyler no! You can't leave me here alone, unless you want me fucking dead. Now. Let. Me. In." She growled at me. She growled. She had to be angry or scared, because otherwise she never growls.
"Come on. Let's go." I backed up and she stepped onto pack grounds.
"We have to get to Jackson." She walked past me, knowing exactly where she was going. This was either going to be a mess or a miracle.
Jackson's POV
"Jackson! Let me in!" I could hear my sister's voice outside the door as Melynie looked up from the paper she was working on. I had ask her to stay, because I didn't know a certain pack name or leader from Russia who was asking for help. I wanted to help him, but I needed Melynie's help with his name and pack verification. We had been peacefully working when Morning came slamming her fist into the door.
"Morning? Come in." I yelled just so she could hear me, and she definitely heard me as she slammed the door open and stomped in.
"Why are you here right now?" I stood up and looked at Morning as Melynie just shrugged and went back to filling out the paperwork. She must be afraid to intervene in family business. Morning didn't even bother to pay attention to Melynie as she looked to Tyler, who stood behind her with his head down.
"First of all, when I tell this idiot, someone might be trying to kill me fill his head to say, "ok, we'll help", instead of "no, *asks a question*". Alright, dumbass? I'm tired of no longer being able to come onto this land, and having to handle all of this shit by myself." She was on the verge of tears but Melynie stood up and made her way to her. She put her arms around my sister as she was now crying. I was glad Melynie knew how to comfort her, since Morning already has a connection to her as my mate.
"See, even Melynie is a better Alpha than you!" I could feel Keel growl at her words, but he knew she was upset. So he tried to hold in the viciousness of his feelings.
(KEEL= JACKSON'S WOLF)
"What happened, Morning?" I choked out making sure to be nice, even though I could see Melynie was visually upset at me for growling. For some reason it hurt to see her look with a glare.
"Xavier, you know, Ty's best friend? He's threatening us. Melynie specially. She's heir to Tyler Bloodlust." Tyler gasp audibly at this, and I knew he probably didn't know this. I noticed Melynie flinched at her words, loosening her arms to fall away from morning. Morning looked up at her in surprise.
"Mel? Do you know Xavier?" Morning whispers, and Melynie sighed before speaking.
"We should all sit down and speak about this. I have a feeling I know what this is about."
Everyone took her words and sat around my office. Morning and Melynie sat on the couch on the right side of the room while Tyler and I sat in the chairs. When everyone was comfortable Melynie began her story.
"Xavier was, at one time, a candidate to become my father's Beta. This was, of course, because the old Beta was getting old, and his mate was unable to have kids. My father wanted someone to take over, as per custom. I was quite young when it happened, but I remember Xavier being a little younger than me, probably eleven or twelve. He was a promising Beta. He had strength that he shouldn't have without his wolf. Yet when Nox walked in the room, Xavier knew it was over. He knew his chances had been thrown out the window. Yet he stayed around, and he became part of the pack while transferring from his old one. He left his parents behind, making his soul reason for living there to become stronger. This was because Nox had already been made Beta, but he was planning to fight Nox when he got strong enough. We became enemies, as he hated that my father hadn't chose him and he took that out on me. He was always rude to everyone who knew my father, and my father was considering forcing him to become a Rouge. He was just so tired of Xavier trying to take over the pack. One day Xavier just upped and left. We never saw him again, though we did find notes every once in a while. Saying he'd be back. Oh shit."
