Tyler shut off the engine and I hoped out of the truck. Tyler grabbed my clothes from the backseat. Jackson came over to us, looking over at Tyler for a second before looking to me.

"You can stay in the same room for a while if you'd like, and go ahead and call your family once you get settled. We can arrange a time for them to come here." I nodded and looked to Tyler and he started towards my room. I followed behind him and Jackson left to another part of the house.

Tyler helped me get all of my clothes hung up, and we sat down on my bed after we got done. I chuckled and looked at him. I noticed the room was getting darker. I looked to the window to see darkness falling upon the earth, and I went to the door to flip the light on. I turned back to Tyler who had laid down and was staring at the ceiling.

"Tyler?" He hummed in response, not looking at me.

"What is this place? Like is it a pack house or just for the Alpha's family?" Tyler looked at me.

"It's for high ups. Me, you, Jackson, our parents, the Gamma, and certain guards." I nodded making a "o" face.

"Yeah, it can get a little lonely, well that was until you got here. The days I had to work I got done and no one would talk to me, except for Zach, sometimes he talks to me...." Tyler looked back to the ceiling, before continuing.

"I'm sorry to tell you that this isn't a good place. It's corrupted. I understand you still want to see me and your family, but you should've taken one of the other options Jackson gave you. Be cautious, he's after you." Tyler got up and walked towards me, then passed me and walked out of the room. I stood there thinking about his words.

"He's after you."

I had no idea what Tyler was talking about, but I had a feeling it wasn't good. He hadn't said anything that menacing to me. I stood there for a moment while pondering over the words, but I went over to the bed after a while. I grabbed my phone from my pocket searching for my mother's number.

Nila Bloodlust-Mom

I smiled at the name and pressed the contact before pressing the call button. I put the phone up to my ear and waited.

"Melynie Jacie Bloodlust?! I'm going to kill you the next time I see you! Why in the name of fucks sake did you think that it was okay to NOT call me?!" I flinched back from the phone hearing my mother's angry voice trying to bust my eardrum. I waited for her to say more but I heard a sigh, and I knew she had already forgiven me.

"I'm sorry, hunny. I'm just stressed. I haven't seen you in days and the kids miss you. It just hasn't been a good week at all. You haven't called in forever!" She sounded stressed and annoyed but the love was showing through her voice.

"I know mom. I have a lot to tell you, but you have to come here first. I'm in a pack. They put me in a dungeon but I've made friends with the Beta. If you want, the Alpha has offered you a place in his quarters." I faded off slowly as my mother stayed quiet for a small amount of time.

"Well, what Pack is it? And who's the Alpha? Why did he lock you up and then tell you your family can come? Why can't you-"

"Mom, just know he probably wants to kill me. Still. He just wants more people to tell him why I'm here, and just know you don't have to come. If you do, you'll have to stay here forever."

I faded again as I realized the meaning behind Tyler's words. He's after you...

He wasn't just after me, he was after my family. He was after my life, my home, my everything. I didn't know if Tyler knew I would catch on so quickly, but he knew I would. If he really meant what I think he meant.

"Mom, you know what? Scratch that. Where are you? Are you in a pack?" My mom stayed silent for a second then sighed.

"Yes, the Peace Pack, we're with Alpha Nick. He wanted us to stay safe. Why scratch that?" She said just processing my words.

"The Beta told me, he told me that the Alpha was after me and it's probably true. He wants power." My mom sighed on the other line.

"Tell me what Pack you're in Melynie, and tell me now." She put on her serious voice. I couldn't tell her. She'd come storming through the gates in search of Jackson's blood. However, if she's smart she'd track my phone and find out where I am anyway, but I could block her from doing that.

I had to save my family. I couldn't tell her. So with my heart heavy and my mind set on saving what was left of my family, I closed my eyes and pressed the red button on my lit up iPhone. And that was it, no way she'd ever know. I went into settings and changed the location into ghost mode and sat my phone down on the table. I had time tonight to go see Jackson, but I'd just go off in the morning. I laid down on my bed and covered myself up letting sleep take over my mind.
