I couldn't remember the last time I laughed like this. Not worrying about money or work, just be there surrounded by people I loved. 

"What did you wish for?", I asked Kade after he blew the candle. He only shook his head with a goofy smile. 

Kade pitched his 23rd birthday today. He wanted it to keep it low and celebrate with my dad and his mom. So, here we were in Marie's room and my dad with a small cake. 

"I wished for something other than chocolate cake like every year", he rolled his eyes at chocolate cake on the table.

"Hey, you love chocolate", I yelled at him playfully. 

"Seriously, last time I checked you said you wanted to eat chocolate cake"

On my part, I was on my period and I craved chocolate. That might've influenced the flavor but this guy had a secret love for chocolates as mine.

"Okay, I want it I got it". He gave a heavy sigh as if winning an hour long argument and plopped next to his mother.

"You guys fight like siblings. I don' t know if I should be happy about it", my dad teased and wiggled his eyebrows at Marie, who returned the smile.

"She already stole my mom, Doesn't have to be sibling", Kade remarked.

"And don't think I don't know about your plan to steal my dad. I noticed the extra cookie wrappers and a new watch"

One fine morning when I was cleaning the living room some shining metal was found. First, I freaked out. I thought someone broke into the house, then again the watch seemed expensive and my dad never had one. If it wasn't someone's, then it had to Kade's work. 

Dad admitted that it was Kade's gift for his birthday and was told to keep a secret which he obviously didn't.

 I was angry at him. He shouldn't waste his money like this. Then a phone call followed, about me ranting on to him and then he getting riled up and yelling at me for taking the night job. 

My ears bled that night. 

After the altercation that night. I dodged Harper. He was ignoring me as I was and the next three days he was never home. Ms. Ice queen told me to leave her alone until he came back. 

May his dick rest in peace.

And that's how I had my two days of peaceful sleep.

"When are you leaving for the job?", my dad asked I wheeled him out of the elevator and into our home.

"At 6. I'll make you dinner before I leave. Oh, Windy is treating Kade so I am taking him with me".

After days of talking about Kade, Windy sorted this sudden courage to treat him on his birthday. Kade was not impressed but no one could persuade like Windy did.

Around 5.30, Kade crashed at my house. It's been a long time I've seen him properly dresses. The black shirt and neatly gelled hair  made him look presentable. He was an attractive guy but everyone had different definitions. Like I find Harper attractive.

Nope. No thoughts about him

Windy was on her toe tips seeing her crush, yeah she admitted. Kade's face turned a hue of pink when she pulled him into  a hug all smiles and starry eyes. She didn't even acknowledge until I cleared my throat and she lunged at me.

"Girlll, I missed you.", and she whispered", I owe you one for the nice piece of ass over there"

I scrunched in disgust and she laughed.

I left the two for their bonding time and went on with my work. The work wasn't draining as much and I could steal glances at the two rabbits. I didn't even know Kade could blush until then but there he was with a flushed red for whatever Windy said. They would definitely make a good pair but I could already tell who would wear the pants in the relationship.

I shipped them.

After my shift I pried Windy off Kade and pulled him to the car. He couldn't stop smiling even when he started the car, pulled it out of the driveway and even halfway home. 

"I don't want the deets but just letting you know I will be the god mother and Marie will love a grandchild"

Kade turned to me with a face of confusion and the realization dawned upon him and flushed. How many times did he blush today?

"We are taking it slow".

I snorted.

"She would've had you then and there if you just nodded your head"

"I am not looking for anything now. If it's what it is then let's see where it is going"

Before I could tell anything I got message from one of the maids at Harper's house. 

Sir is back

Just when I thought I could end the day. Kade dropped me at Harper's house after taking me home to change the dress.

"I don't like you working for them. Why can't they just hire a nurse or something?", Kade voiced his concern. I had the same thoughts as him and Wren explained how he convinced the lady boss to give me a try and she listened. 

I walked along the driveway and entered the house. Even it was a warm weather outside, it gave me chills everytime I stepped into the house.

I didn't let my mind wander and got my bed and went to his room. This time I entered after knocking and my breath caught in my throat.

Freshly showered Harper in a white towel hung low to give my anxiety and his back muscle flexed as he reached out to his shirt. 

As if sensing me, he turned to look at me. My brain screamed at me to look away but I stood frozen with my eyes on him. For a moment, when we stood looking at each other I felt the electricity through my body. When he licked his lower lip my pulse shot somewhere down.

Suddenly, the world came crashing onto me and embarrassment took over. I averted my eyes from him and begun setting my bed.

I could feel his eyes on me and his feet thud on the floor as he walked. 

Calm your tits, A. He is an arrogant asshole and your boss. We need money.

My body shivered when I felt a hand on my waist. The musk scent filled my nostrils. He turned me slowly. I tried reaching out for the spray and his grip tightened around me.

"I won't rape you", he spat the words out. Up this close, I could see the faint mark beside his right eyes. My hands were twitching to trace it. He was clean shaved and jaw appeared more sharp when he clenched.

His lips lifted at my blatant ogling.

"Last time I checked you were trying to harass me. Sorry for getting the wrong idea though", I retorted and tried to wiggle out of his death grip.

"Would you stop?", he asked irritated.

"Stop what? Trying to get away from a person who is trying to touch me. No I won't". I wasn't this person. I never spoke my mind out and never this sus but Harper showed myself this side.

As if I had hit him, he retracted his hands and took a step back. 

I walked around him and took the medicine from the bottle and handed him. He took it without a word and sat on his bed facing mine. I stood next to his bed looking at him while he was looking at my bed.

"Why are you standing and creeping me out? Just fucking sleep"

"Sir, I am your maid. I am supposed to sleep after you sleep.", my voice blank as if I had not insulted him. He noticed the change as he clenched his jaw and lied on his bed shutting the light off.
