Cress, Thorne, Winter, Jacin, Scarlet, and Wolf we're currently at Emperor Kaito's palace. They were waiting on the ceremony to start.

What kind of ceremony? Kai and Cinder's wedding. It had been a couple years since Cinder overthrew the evil queen, Levana.

Cress was sitting with her head on Thorne's shoulder.

Scarlet and Wolf were holding hands while Winter and Jacin were in a similar position to Cress and Thorne's.

As Cinder and Kai kissed to bring the ceremony to an end, Thorne leaned over and whispered something into Cress' ear. "One day it will be us."

Cress smiled serenely and laced her hand with Thorne's.

They were currently at the ball that followed the wedding ceremony.

Kai and Cinder were slow dancing in the middle of the dance floor.

Cress and Thorne were holding hands when Thorne leaned over, once again, and whispered something to Cress. "One day it will be us."

Cress looked at him and kissed him softly.

Every couple slowly joined Kai and Cinder on the dance floor, including Cress and Thorne.

Cress and Thorne danced for five songs straight until Cress asked Thorne if they could take a break.

They returned to their seats and Cress' eyes wondered to Cinder and Kai.

They were looking at one another with pure love in their eyes.

Cress leaned over to Thorne and, before she lost her courage, whispered in his ear, "Captain?"

"Hmm?"

"One day it will be us."

Thorne looked at her with the same look in his eyes that Kai had and kissed her gently, but passionately.

Cress broke the kiss, "I love you."

"I love you too, Cress."

They smiled at one another and danced the night away.
