Is anyone actually waiting until volume 2 is released to make their character? If not, I might be moving up the due date to June 28th or July 2nd — I haven't decided — to adjust for IRL stuff, the fact that applications are very much slowly down & I'm already looking at stuff I want to write, and just the fact I really don't have the energy for more waiting.

So I just realized how Nancy & Jonathan can be 16 in season 1 and 18 in season 4. I looked real close — they're 17 for season 2 & 3, probably due to birthdays not passing (similar to how Dan & Mike are still 13 in season 4.) This is the problem with season 1 being confirmed exactly 1 year, but the others not.

I am Big Dumb. Unsure if I should just age up teen characters as proper or just continue with what I've already begun.

Wow, look at me. This is what I get for posting the last one in a hurry. I posted the reminder and forgot literally all of the stuff I needed to let you guys know.

First off, when I say give back-up love interests, I really mean it! I understand if your character really just doesn't work with someone else, but if that isn't the case, please at least include "or an OC." You need to keep in mind that people are going to be choosing the same love interest as you, which is why I ask for your top three ideas.

This is especially important for the teens. Guys — pretty much everyone so far has had some combination of Steve & Robin, and everyone has included at least one of them. Which will make choosing teens really hard without either giving an OC love interest or none, something I don't want to just assume you're okay with (on top of the fact that this implies a lot of you want your OCs in the Scoops Troop.)

Next (because I can't possibly make this longer) a couple people have asked me for suggestions. You know. Characters I need. Keep in mind this isn't a "to-do, must-do" list where you're banned from anything else. I mean it's literally been six-ish days, I'm not gonna ban ideas for the rest of a month on the crime of...not applying faster.

Nor do you have to rush to change things you've already applied with.

1. Teens made for love interests other than Steve or Robin.
I know I can go to the back-ups, but I'd really like to give people their first choice.

2. Antagonist applications.
I'll probably use them as side charades instead of the main 8-ish, but I think it'd be cool to have some character based conflict, especially because the canon antagonist are sort of tied to canon characters, so having ones I can directly use against other applications would be helpful.

3. Byers?
I just love the Byers, honestly, need an excuse to write them more.

4. Different interests.
Because, yes, this is something I'm keeping track of. A lot of characters are interested in creative stuff (fashion, writing, art, theater) and maybe a little nerd stuff (comics, D&D.) Then there's Dan and his film stuff. So it's be cool to see characters who are really into...like...math, or sports, or space, or history, or something. More applications in STEM, damn it!

5. Strong personalities.
Not an issue based off characters, just a general tip. When I write characters, to make them stand out, I find a "theme" for their personality and make it strong. Dan for example, is a big film nerd and understand the world through that point of view. So try that out. Maybe they're really into music and style themself after their favorite musician (you know I was thinking punk/rock, but seeing someone go full Yee-Haw Country would be funny as heck.)

6. Related applications.
Obviously this isn't for everyone, because it requires you to make at least two applications, but it'd be cool to have another sibling pair in the mix. Especially because Mike & Nancy, Will & Jonathan, and Lucas & Erica really haven't been allowed to interact much (or if they do, not as siblings.)
