Jirou is a trans girl!! (Meaning she transitioned from male to female.) She didn't feel comfortable, feel like herself, as a boy, and throughout her entire childhood knew that she wasn't supposed to be a boy. She was a girl, through and through, and when it came to her 12th birthday she couldn't take it anymore. Her parents were very supportive of her, incredibly, in fact. She couldn't have asked for more love and support. They gave her anything she needed for a successful transition into the girl she wanted to be.

For the class, the truth came out in a "Trademark(™) Class 1-A Dorm Game Night" (thank Kaminari for that blessed name), through a game of Two Truths and One Lie (All Might had taught them about it and how to play). Her statements were "I'm gay as hell," "I'm trans," and "Kaminari is a fucking genius." Everyone obviously knew which one was a lie (getting a big "fuck you" from Kaminari) and when they all came to the realization that "I'm trans" was a truth, she very sarcastically responded with "whoopsie you caught me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
