Chapter 6
Magic's Point of View
I cilmbed up the nearest tree using the last of my strength, hoping to get some rest without anyone, or anything, disturbing me. I knew that if I slept on the ground, I'd never find enough peace within me to enter the deep depths of unconsciousness.
With a heavy huff, I managed to fully haul myself onto the top of the tree. Weirdly enough, when I laid down, the leaves were nice and soft, making me easily more sleepy. I pulled out a spare pillow and small blanket out of my inventory and set up a comfortable, warm, and fresh sleeping area. I was starting to feel a little homesick, now that I knew I was a far distance away, but I know that couldn't be my home any longer.
I'm only going back to get the village for Sahjan, before I'm heading out into the farthest wilderness can reach. At least there, no one can find me, and I can live peacefully.
Tears were tipping the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I had to be strong, no matter how hard it is. Not to mention showing weakness is not my kind of 'thing', especially in the field.
I blinked them away irritably, as the soft swaying sound of the leaves blowing in the wind lulled me into a seemingly never-ending sleep.

Crunch, crunch.
My eyes sprang open as I realized what time of day it was. I looked at my clock, and then to the sun, and noticed it was midday already. The trees were blowing softly as few clouds crawled along in the sky. Although, down below me was a different story.
I crawled over to the edge of the tree and looked down to see where the sound's origin was from. Weirdly enough, nothing was below me. 'It was probably just the leaves swishing against each other...' I thought as I gathered my blanket and pillow so I could pack them into my inventory.
Crunch, crunch.
I heard again, but these ones sounded closer, and more ominous. My guts wrenched inside me as I carefully crawled over to the edge again.
Again, I saw nothing. I sighed a small relief and stood up on the tree. I looked from side to side, hoping to find some kind of sign of what direction to go in or any landmarks to show that I'm close. Sadly, I didn't find any but I felt something.
'It' let out soft, shallow breaths behind me, leaving my neck warm for a second before tingling cold feeling. I sucked in a breath as I slowly turned around to see what 'it' was.
