this is a simple text effect tutorial used in my current covers

this tutorial would work on any program and app. pixlr and photoshop are pretty much the same, and i'm gonna do one for phonto in another chapter

ONE:

write your text in any color and style you want, once you're finished, you can move on to the next step

TWO:

duplicate your text layer and make it black

THREE:

right click [on the text copy layer] > blending options OR click on this icon

click on stroke and do the following:

SIZE: 2-3

BLEND MODE: normal

COLOR: up to you!

here's what i did:

it should look something like this now:

THREE [PIXLR]:

click on the layer styles icon on the bottom of the layer panel [the square with a star cut-out on the cornor]

[don't judge my circle]

click on outer glow and make the dimensions below:

OPACITY: 100

HARDNESS: 10

SIZE: 2-3

COLOR: sadly, in pixlr, you can only use a white outline :(

[ you can make the outline black by just making your outline black and your text white ]

FOUR:

change the blend mode of your outlined text to screen

if you're on pixlr, and want your outline black instead of white, make your text white and the outer glow color black, and change the blend mode to multiply

as for photoshop users, you don't have to worry about that.

FIVE:

move your outlined text slightly to the left or right, and just slightly to the top or bottom [optional]

in the end, your text should look something like this:

FONT: sunrise international

TEXT COLOR CODE: #6dd0f7

TEXT OUTLINE COLOR CODE: #f4989d
