Subtle Ship

"Another problem requiring a trial?" The tall yellow gem says, irritation clear in her voice. "I will be assigning my zircon then. The same one. I trust you will do the same, Blue?"

The other tall gem nods. "I will." She agrees.

The two have been trying to get their zircons to realize what they already know: they like each other. Normally they would be trying to do the exact opposite (they still are reeling from that Rhodonite all those years ago). But...Homeworld is becoming desperate.

The two zircons, on the other hand, are mystified. Why do they always seem to have the same case against each other? Blue Zircon, ever the paranoid one, feared that it was because their respective Diamonds were onto them. That last trial had been less actual casework and more... Whatever that had been.

And here they were again.

"You know, at first I thought this was coincidence, but now I'm certain it can't be." The yellow gem notes to her blue counterpart.

Blue Zircon nods. "I wonder why they're always putting us against each other. Is it because they want us to be firmly on opposite sides or something? Do they know something? Oh stars..."

"Calm down, Blue. I'm sure it's okay. I'm not sure why either, but...maybe one day we'll find out."

"Our Diamonds sure like keeping secrets, huh?"
"Blue, that's treason."
"Face it, most of my cases lately could be tried for treason successfully."
"Fair point."

They walk into the courtroom, and the Diamonds begin their "I just want these two obviously in love gems to realize that they are in love" plan.

This might be an...interesting trial.
