Chapter 6: Different

Chapter 6: Different

"Okay, okay fine! Rest well Zo! I need you back in school," I said, hanging up.

I was talking to Zoe, missing out the parts which Britney said about us going to class together. I don't even know why, I just left it out. I guess I decided to figure out what Britney was doing before telling her.

I decided to talk to Vince, him being older and supposedly having more experience, I told him the story; From Taylor and Britney asking me to sit with them, to Britney actually being nice to me and lastly, to me not telling Zoe about Britney being nice to me.

"Why didn't you just tell her?" he asked, epically failing to raise his eyebrow into a perfect arch.

"I don't know, okay! It's just that Zoe... Zoe has been a cool kid before and ugh... I don't know..." I groaned in frustration, ready to pull my hair out.

"There's another reason, but maybe you're going to find out soon yourself."

"Vince! you're my older brother, you're suppose to give me advice," I whined, sticking my lower lip out and pulling my best puppy-dogs eyes.

He gave me a small smirk and shoved me out his room. So much for helping. Another reason that I'm suppose to find out by myself... What does that even mean? Oh gosh, this shit's driving me crazy. I need food.

I went downstairs to grab a tub of Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie. Oh, they're heaven; sometimes too sweet but you can never go wrong with chocolate. Then I proceeded to watch some Pretty Little Liars. Huh, they're never going to reveal who A is, are they? Looks like the show did get my mind of things, but that was till the door bell rung.

"Vince! Go get it!" I called.

When I got no response, I tried again. "Vince?!"

"Ugh!" I groaned as I didn't hear his annoying voice call back.

I unwillingly got off my bed, opening the door, walking down the stairs, walking even more, and opening the front door. Do you see how much cardio that is?!

To my surprise, Britney was standing in front of me.

"Hello! Want to have dinner over at mine?" she asked.

"Uhhh I actually just had a tub of ice cream so I think I'll pass." I said, trying to close the door but her hand stopped it.

"Then just come over. My parents make really good desserts if you get hungry. Surely, a tub of ice cream won't fill you up."

I had a hesitant look on my face and even before I could reject that offer, she dragged me out of the house. Thank god I have my phone cause I have no keys!

Why is she being so nice anyway?

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Posey," I greeted, giving them a slight wave.

"Oh Summer! How nice to have you over!" Mrs Posey said, giving me a hug, one which I hugged back.

Mrs Posey was nice. If only I still had mom... Mr Posey acknowledged me by a slight nod and a hello.

"I'll be right back. I have to call either Vince or Aunt Meg cause I felt my keys at home, so I'm basically locked out."

Both calls went to voicemail. If I was ever kidnapped and the kidnapper wanted to call a family member for a ransom, i'd probably ask them to not even bother cause they never ever ever pick up they're phones. Instead, I texted Zoe: I'm in Britney's house, wtf!!

~~~~~
"So I guess I had fun today? But I'll get going. I can sneak in through the back door." I said, waving to Brit.
I actually did have fun. But I'm not sure how that's possible with Britney. I walked down the doorsteps, then thought about today. Then I hit into a hard chest, causing whoever it was to fall.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry but I didn't se- oh it's you," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Wait, just because it's me you don't apologise?" Taylor asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Mmhmm, pretty much."
"How bout you walk to the park with me? You know, to make up for your clumsiness and rudeness," he smirked.
"Sure sure, I'll do that when pigs are able to fly." I replied sarcastically.
"Oh they can! On an airplane! Now let's go," he said, pulling me along as I stumbled but did not fall.
I groaned. I just spent a day, well two hours, with Brit, the girl head for the cool kids. And now, the guy head of the cool kids. What even...
The park wasn't that far, but it was at least a 10 minute walk. It was silent, just the crickets buzzing at night. I got bored so I started humming to The Ballad Of Mona Lisa by Panic! At The Disco.
"Really? Panic! At The Disco?" he asked, slightly amused.
"Why not?"
"You don't look like those who listen to Panic! At The Disco..." he said, slightly shrugging.
"Oh you know, I totes love One Direction and all" i said sarcastically if you couldn't tell.
He just laughed lightly.
~~~~~

The park finally came to view after a while. The night air was nice, cooling, but not too cold. It was simply perfect. I walked to the swing, Taylor hot on my heels, and we sat on a swing each.

"I don't even know what I'm doing here..." I muttered.

"To serve your apology," Taylor commented.

He actually heard that. I could barely hear it myself. I rolled my eyes, but realised that ir was too dark for him to see.The moon was shining bright, and it was a cresent. There were also stars, shining bright like a diamond. I put both my hands up, feeling Taylor's eyes on me, and made a rectangle-ish shape with my thumb and point finger with both hands to look and see how a picture of the sky would look. Of course, it looked nice thus I took out my phone, and snapping a few pictures at different angles, Taylor watching me with curious eyes.

"You like photography?" he asked amused.

"Firstly, why does everything I do amuse you? And secondly, why not?" I shrugged.

"You're different from the other girls, Summer," he said.

All I did was scoff and I started editing the picture with some apps. Damn, the picture would have been nicer if I had my Canon DSLR. After editing my picture and choosing the best one, I stole a glance to see Taylor. He was looking curiously at what I was doing and when he realised I had stopped, he looked at me only to realise that I was looking at him. He stopped and looked at back his phone.
