Chapter 4

a/n - lol nvm I seperated it into more parts now

A sudden sharp noise flew in the air along with a blue blast- dragging you back to the battle as the blast hit the mech straight in the chest, leaving a gaping hole and smoke behind. With a thunderous rumble it collapsed to the ground in front of you.

Another one quickly followed suit as a different robot appeared behind the large boulder you collapsed behind, quickly decommissioning the other robot that had been following you from the beginning.

Turning to the source, bright red was the first to reach your vision, along with bright cyan eyes and two silver pristine horns placed on its head.

"So I guess I wasn't just seein' things huh," 'He' seemed to admit to you as you both locked eye contact. "I won't lie and say I know exactly what to do from 'ere, but your gonna have to come with me little miss,"

Not wanting any more part of this battle going on between robots, much less hearing a large machine just talk directly to you AND about taking you, you were getting ready to run right between the big red ones legs and book it back home.

Upon seeing him suddenly knelt down in front of you and reach out for you with no warning, you let out a yell of shock before scrambling back in fear before your back hit the boulder behind you, staring in silence as this whole situation finally started to settle in. Your legs were sore, your chest hurts, your hands hurt, your knees hurt, your head hurts, you could have died, you could have died, you could have been nothing but a STAIN on the ground to THEM or they could have used you as a bargaining cHIP JUST LIKE-

..what?..no..I could have died...right? I could have dIED..?!

Tears stung your eyes as your hands shook, unable to do nothing but stare up at the cherry red robot in front of you, realizing just how small and powerless you really were at this point in time. Mom wasn't here anymore, dad was at home probably worried sick out of his mind- how long were you gone for? Was he looking for you right now in the garden? Was he panicking? Would he himself come investigate the fight? Would he find you here, all bruised and hurt on the ground with a giant metal robot above you? What would happen to you?..

At seeing the look of fear cross your face, the red mech hesitated and pulled back a little, only to quickly look up before turning his head to the side and cover his face as a wave of wind carrying pieces of rock and dirt flew your way.

Out of instinct, you did the same, feeling a wave of dust settle on your hair and clothes.

"Grab on! We gotta get ya outta here if you wanna be safe! You gotta trust me at least for now kid!" Lowering your hands from your face, you first noticed the outstretched metallic hand in front of you, followed by the determined yet restless face of the mech above you- noting the slight desperation in his blue eyes.

Should you trust him? It? Whatever this talking, walking, thing might be? Not even a full 15 minutes has passed and you find yourself cornered behind a rock with a battle going on around you between giant robots. But with the close sound of metal-on-metal coming closer and closer to your little hiding spot, what more could you do besides place what little desperation of hope you had left in the mech in front of you? You scrambled up onto his outstretched hand and stayed crouched, hoping you wouldn't fall to the ground below you and hurt yourself even more.

A second later and you were quickly lifted into the air and close to the chassis of the robot, his other hand coming up to fully encase you in total darkness, only the slightest of light peeking through his finger tips.

You quickly peeked through the gaps - wanting to know what goes on behind the fingers encasing you, only to suddenly stumble back as the robot holding you started to move. Quickly gaining your footing, you scrambled back to your position to view between the digits.

Now out from behind the cover of the rocks, you could feel the ups and downs of each step that was taken by the bot holding you- along with the sidesteps to avoid bright purple beams aimed towards him. You could see the varying colors flying by- along with the new robots fighting across the rigid land.

Their bright armor had first caught your attention - noting how brightly colored they were from yellow to red, and blue to green, but what really dragged your attention away from their shiny metal plates was the bright beams of blue and purple flying back and forth, and the sound of metal on metal with sparks flying thru the air.

With the amount of sound and bright flashes of color, it eventually became too overwhelming to take in and you quickly closed your eyes and covers your ears- but not before hearing the voice of the robot holding you yell out,

"Ratchet! Got a situation here and need a groundbridge back to base quick! Got me a human here with me so I'd appreciate it if you made it quick!"

After feeling yourself be jostled around a little more, the strange sound of something akin to sloshing water was heard before the sudden feeling of nausea washed over you. It felt like you were airborne for a second, then doing loops on a roller coaster before being shaken back and forth- oh you can already feel your stomach hating you for this. You quickly covered your ears and clenched your eyes shut, it was too much going on at once it was tOO MUCH-

But as soon as those sensations were felt, it was over. It suddenly felt quieter, and the excitement in the air on the battlefield seemed to have disappeared.

The feeling of warmth and light hit your back slowly and steady, and the silence rang around you made you hyper aware of your surroundings.

You uncover your ears and peak your eyes open- slowly, anticipating the sounds of battle to reach you once again. The first thing you notice is that you were indoors. The second, being that there were more of those giant robots; one sitting on a large metal slab and the other right in front of you-

"A human?! Where- what- of all places on a battlefield?!"

With the sudden shout and proximity, you yourself quickly scrambled back with a shout of your own- almost off of the hand of the robot holding you if it weren't for him pulling you closer to his frame with a step back.

"WOAH woah easy there- almost fell off now! Okay ease up a bit there doc!" With the robot's other hand, he brought it up and placed it in front of you, acting as a barrier. "Wouldn't want to scare off the lil' lady now, right?"

"Cliffjumper! Where did this human come from!" The other robot shouted after taking a step back from their personal space.

"Right where you said Ratchet, the battlefield," What a nonchalant answer from the one named Cliffjumper that was currently holding you. "Just behind a boulder and almost done in by some cons."

"There's no way we can let a human stay here," A new voice spoke up from behind the one called Ratchet, right by the metal slab. Blue/purple eyes immediately connected with (e/c) one, unwavering in her next words. "Robots in disguise, right? So just get rid of them- we shouldn't meddle with their kind."

"It's not like I had a choice though 'Cee, wasn't really plannin' on seeing a native of this planet get burnt to a crisp anytime soon," Cliffjumper made a show of lifting the human to his eye level. "'Sides, I think this one is on the younger side of the natives here. She definitely has plenty of spunk and life to her too after seeing her run as fast as she did from those cons back there."

"I would have been fried to a crisp?" You couldn't but mumble out in slight terror, reeling back from the events that just took place all in but a minute. "I really really really could have died?"

"Yep! Burnt to nothing but ashes!"

With a strained smile, you couldn't help but have your eye twitch at Cliffjumper. "Ashes?"

"That's enough Cliffjumper, the human is clearly reeling in shock over what has happened. We will wait until Optimus gets back to base to help the others at the mine before figuring out what to do with them."

With a humm of agreement, Cliffjumper walked past the one called Ratchet and hovered his hand over a leveled area. "Down you go now."

'You don't gotta tell me twice-' WIth that thought you quickly slid off of Cliffjumpers hand and onto the raised platform, quickly backing up a few steps from him afterwards.

"So, lil' human, what's your name? Where'd you come from??" This red one was really interested in the details of your life huh...

"Uh, my name's (Y/n) and I um, I'm from the battlefield?" I just wanna go home now-

"I'm assuming more so from around the area back there huh. Don't worry, after you meet the big boss we'll get you back to where you need to be; to your safe and sound place, don't 'cha worry about a thing!"

As reassuring as Cliffjumper was trying to make you feel, this still wasn't something you could get used to like it was an every day-to-day thing.

"Cliffjumper, leave the human be for now, just help check in with Arcee while I focus on the others."

With a sign from Cliffjumper at Ratchet's words, he reluctantly left you be and went to Arcee's side to help tend to her apparent wounds that you didn't notice from before.

You simply sat in silence on the platform for a certain time, processing all that happened in a 30 minute time frame; from the battle, to the giant fighting robots, to suddenly appearing in a robot base...

This...this was a lot.

Finally, with the peace that your body yearned for from the long, treacherous minutes of the battle, your body was quick to go lax and had you slide down to the ground with a shaky sigh. You shifted yourself quietly to hold your knees up to your chest before gently tucking your head up against your pants- careful not to agitate her wounded knees.

With your eyelids closing for a moment of silence from the light, you could only imagine what would happen to you next once this 'big boss' comes through.

Your hands and knees still stung too.

'Why did I keep this old letter again?' He couldn't help but think as he flipped it back and forth, uninterested. 'Trash.'

And in one quick motion, pristine white gloves tore the letter and seal into many pieces, watching it flutter down to the ground in silence after nudging his desk drawer closed.

Hm, that left a bitter taste on his tongue, he doesn't feel like cleaning out his papers anymore.

With a sigh, he quickly bend down to pick up the ripped pieces of letter before getting up to throw it away in a nearby trash can only to pause as he took a glance out the window of his study,

Smoke wafted through the air in the distance, not too far yet not too close to them.

...he should probably go get (Y/n) from the garden now.
