3. Okay

I am!! A little upsetti rn!! So here's a lil chapter before things go to shit 😌💅🏻

Tyler blinked his eyes open at seven in the morning. Well, sorta.

He slept horribly last night. He didn't even know why. He was exhausted from packing and unpacking and he fell asleep on his call with Josh.

However he had been up most of the night between nightmares he kept having (He knew he shouldn't have gotten rid of that dream catcher he had. Maybe they did work.) and the storm that went on all night.

He pulled himself out of bed and made his way to the bathroom. The other good thing about this house was that they had an extra bathroom so Tyler's mom said he could have his own since he was leaving in a few years for college anyway.

However, the water in the toilet wouldn't run so when he tried to flush nothing happened. The sink water was scorching hot and would not get colder. At all. And he finally got in the shower and that seemed to be nothing but cold water.

He was getting frustrated.

After getting dressed for the day in a large oversized sweater that he was pretty sure was his sister's and skinny jeans since it was only about 50 degrees outside. He grabbed his bag and made his way down the stairs.

Surprisingly, all his siblings were sat the table and his mom was making breakfast. "Good morning, Tyler," she chirped.

"Morning," Tyler replied, confused. His family didn't hate each other but they usually never sat down together to eat before school.

"Did you sleep well?" His mom asked.

"Uh..." he blinked. "Yeah..."

"Is that my sweater?" Maddy asked.

Tyler shook his head, grabbing a granola bar from the cupboard. "I'm okay. Thanks for breakfast but Josh is on his way and—"

Suddenly, there was a quiet honk outside and Tyler knew it was his boyfriend. "There he is," his mom smiled, kissing his forehead. "Bye, honey. I love you. Have a good day at school."

Tyler forced a smile. "I love you too."

He walked out the door and hurried out to Josh's car. However, once he got in and shut the door, he noticed his backpack strap was caught in it.

"Ugh!" He groaned frustratedly, opening it and slamming it shut once the strap was inside.

"You okay, babe?" Josh asked him, giving him a worried look.

"No!" Tyler snapped loudly. He looked over and saw Josh's wide eyes and he covered his face with his hands. He let out a sob. "I'm sorry for snapping," he cried. "I'm tired and I've had a terrible morning."

Josh grabbed his hands and lowered them, holding them tightly. "Talk to me," he spoke softly. "Why are you tired? You fell asleep on the phone."

"I had a bunch of bad dreams," he bawled, feeling all his emotions rising up at once. "They were really scary," he hiccuped.

Josh had a worried look on his face. "How bad were they?"

"Bad. I don't even remember what they were about I just know they were bad."

"Oh," Josh's worried look turned into sadness and he brought Tyler in for a hug. "Sweetheart," he rubbed his back lightly.

Tyler sobbed on his shoulder for a moment before pulling back and wiping his eyes. "I'm okay," he sniffled. "I'm okay," he repeated as he fanned his face. He sniffled one last time and let out a breath. "I'm too pretty to cry."

Josh laughed and pressed a kiss to his forehead. "It's okay to cry but yes you are very pretty," he paused. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Tyler nodded and let out a watery giggle. "Yeah. I'm alright," he assured.

The ride to school was longer than before since it was on the other side of town but it gave Tyler enough time to calm down.

Once they arrived there and got out, Josh instantly grabbed Tyler's hand and pulled him close. "Do you have play practice after school today?"

Tyler shook his head. "Not tonight but the next three weeks I'll have it every night."

"Do you still want me to come over?"

"Of course," Tyler smiled at him, his eyes twinkling.

"Hey!"

The two turned around to see their best friend heading towards them on a skateboard. Lina rode around them once before stopping in front of the duo and kicking her skateboard up. "Hey, Lina," Josh greeted.

"Hey, lesbos," she grinned. "How's the mansion, Ty?"

Tyler let out a soft snort. "It hasn't crumbled yet. Surprisingly."

"He had a rough night," Josh explained.

Lina pouted and pat Tyler's shoulder. "I'm sorry."

Tyler shrugged. "I'm okay," he repeated.

Lina frowned. "You sure, honey?"

He forced a smile. "Yeah," he nodded. He was just having a rough day. He would be back to his upbeat self soon.

They continued walking into the school and it seemed almost impossible to get a few feet without someone saying hello to Tyler.

"I told you," Josh sang jokingly. "Everyone loves you."

Tyler smiled and blushed before shaking his head bashfully.

They stopped at Lina's locker so she could put her skateboard away and her and Josh began a conversation while Tyler felt himself space out.

"Should I pierce my eyebrow?" Josh asked the two, regaining Tyler's attention.

Tyler scrunched his nose up. "How am I supposed to wax your eyebrows if there's a piece of metal there?"

Josh laughed. "Maybe don't wax my eyebrows then."

Tyler shook his head "I have to. They look atrocious if I don't. Plus, don't you think mine look good when I do them?"

"They look better than mine," Lina admitted. "I'm coming over this weekend so you can do them. Well, only if my mom isn't up my ass about doing chores..."

"No offense," Josh began. "But you have five other siblings. Can't they do your chores?"

Lina seemed to be in thought for a moment. "I'll make a PowerPoint and propose that idea to my mom. Thanks, lesbo number two."

"Why is Ty number one?" Josh fake gasped.

"Because he's better," she replied simply.

The two began playfully arguing and Tyler smiled as they continued walking to class. He was glad he had them to put him in a better mood.

And he couldn't ask for a better best friend or boyfriend.
