95: Problematic pair.
Mild gore warning
Evening time. After having checked the security cameras for anything important, Barfbag had decided to go meet up with Loser and Yellowface so they could discuss the circumstances of their situation. They definitely didn't expect LIY to return and tell Two about Fries... but with him out of the picture, it definitely made things more simpler.
Liy had been recovering after what happened and her injuries were being tended to. It was obvious that Loser and the rest of Front Row was going to have to take a visit to the lab eventually.. but the group had been debating on whether they should try and get Liy on their side. She was a wildcard.. they weren't sure of her motivations, but figured she would be useful. However they would have to ask her when she was in a better condition.
Barfbag had slipped into her room, once again being greeted with Loser and Yellowface. She wasn't as startled as before because this time she at least expected it. She was still unamused though, frowning and closing the door with a slam that mildly shook the walls. Loser jumped, closing the draw that he had been peeking in. "B-Barfbag!"
"What the hell are you doing? Stop looking at my STUFF, you creep." She spat at him, going to march over to him and push him out the way. He stumbled to the side as she searched through her draw to check nothing had been stolen. "What were you doing??" She was mostly weirded out, looking back at him.
"Just got bored. I noticed you had a knife. It looks like Leafys.." Loser commented smugky, watching as she shut it. Barfbag glared at him. "Well, I need SOME defense, just in case." She rolled her eyes and went to turn and sit on her bed, him following her with lidded eyes and a judgemental looking expression. "Very well. We have been waiting a while. What held you up?" He started a new conversation. Yellowface looked up from where he was, watching as the other two took a seat on Barfbags bed.
She groaned loudly, rubbing her eye with her fist "Some stuff I had to catch up on.." she had noticed one of the cameras were out of order so.. had to try and boot it back up. ".. Whatever, we need to start thinking of the next steps."
"Obviously." Yellowface spat harshly, glaring up at her in irritation. "We need to get Liy on our side. She will prove useful-"
"-That's if she WANTS to. We can't ask her yet because if she doesn't join us afterall, we will get CAUGHT because she will most likely tell Two." Loser hissed back at him, as if that was obvious. Yellowface turned away angrily "Tch."
"Apart from Liy.. we have other things." Loser went to cross his legs, putting his hands on his lap neatly. ".. Fries is gone. Now... we know why that is."
"Donut teleported him." Barfbag unhappily added "..I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I didn't think he would get stronger THAT fast. I've... TRIED to discourage him but.. Gelatin is good. Gelatin is starting to act weird around me, too.." she spoke out about her concerns, however Loser uttered a chuckle in response, covering his mouth. She looked over "Something funny?"
"He is the least of our worries for now. Whatever is going on between you and him, it's probably based on ..er, emotional things. Nothing important to us." Loser waved his hand to dismiss it. "What is important to us is thatm Two obviously is more suspicious now. They think Four is somehow alive.. "
"Is that a bad thing? As long as they don't suspect Donut, we'll be fine." Barfbag assured harshly. "With Fries out the way, things should get easier... there's a less chance Donut will get caught.. OR us."
"How so?" Loser turned to her, curious on her vision. She scoffed, putting her hands in the air "Uh, duh! I thought it was simple. Two obviously wanted Fries dead, sooooo.. if we have evidence that Donut was working with Fries, that gives us a reason to kill him that ISN'T because of the powers.."
Loser and Yellowface were silent.. hm... that was a good point. Barfbag looked at her hand with a smug and confident grin. "No need to thank me. I am the brains of this group, afterall."
Loser glared over at her as soon as she said that, but decided to dismiss her comment, uncrossing his legs and turning away. "Even so, it's going to need to be pretty STRONG evidence. Are you sure you have enough?"
"Course I do. I have a camera in Donuts room thats caught a bunch of stuff." She confidently claimed, him turning back to her. "I'll.. show Two the parts that don't include mentions of Donuts power. Should be easy enough.." she looked to the ground to ponder this.. she supposed that could work, as long as Two didn't find out another way..
Yellowface pondered this too, perking up as he realised something, looking back at her. "Mm.. but won't Two get annoyed that you didn't show them this sooner?"
"No. I'll just... say I hadn't looked through the footage until.. well, before we plan to kill him. Sounds reasonable, right? It's not like I'm always paying attention to the cameras." She explained, looking back and forth at the two of them to see their reactions to her idea. Loser tapped his cheek in thought..hm, it definitely seemed like a good plan. It sounded like a believable enough excuse.
"What are we going to do about Gelatin, though?" Loser added.
"KILL him after we kill Donut. We can tell Two that we knew they were working together. Two birds with one stone.. we got this, we just have to wait for the right time." She felt a smile tug at her face.. they were getting closer and closer to being in power. It was only so long until they managed to pull through with this.. Two had NO idea what was coming.
"...And you're SURE this will work?" Yellowface questioned again, skeptical. She glared over at him and lost her smile, squinting. "Why? Did YOU have a better idea, Yellow? Exactly. I didn't think so." She growled, insulted. Loser chuckled and put his hand over his mouth "Oh, my. I do love this group."
"Thanks for all the HELP, by the way." Barfbag mildly shoved Loser by his back, pushing him over and off the bed. He yelled and stumbled, almost tripping up but he caught himself on her beside table. "Gh-" he turned over to her, gripping his hands together "How dare you!" He raged, pointing at her and gritting his teeth.
"What??" She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "YOU are the reason we are wearing these STUPID bands! You didn't have to go spewing that information about Tree, you know! You just made it more difficult for us!"
Barfbag had no idea that the bands were being made regardless of Tree and only the bot was made because of Tree. Neither of the other two knew this either, Yellowface had assumed both of the security measures were because of what happened with Tree.. which was Losers fault. If Loser had never said anything, the bot wouldn't have been made - however the group thought this was the case with the bands, too. And so did Tree himself .. since he was the only other object that was aware of Two catching him out. Everyone else had no idea any of it was because of the information on Tree, they just assumed it was all because of the raid.
"Excuse me? What? So you would RATHER have him working with Fries and making it harder for us?" Loser snarled, rolling his eyes in disbelief. "Anyways, it's easy for me and Yellow to get them disarmed because Two trusts us."
Barfbag scoffed. "Yes, but what about ME? I haven't been outside in.. well, a long time. The only time I went out was to collect those dumb remains. Two would never let me out! Way to go, moron." She insulted, clearly unhappy. "Did you not think that part through? Or did you only think of yourself as PER usual?!"
Yellowface looked over at Loser, raising an eyebrow "Hm, she does have a point. "
"Relax! It isn't the end of the world, Barfbag. When the time comes.. we will find a way. Don't get so worked up over it." He growled at her. "Oh, also, you WISH you were the brains of the group."
She stood up, glaring at him angrily. Yellowface awkwardly watched, kind of unamused at their worthless fighting. "Uh.. yeah. We should go now, it's getting late."
"Yeah, you should." She agreed with threatening tone, before pointing to the door. "Get outta my site. I have to do some work.. my plan isn't going to PLAN itself."
"Our plan." Loser shot back, before swiftly turning on his heel and making his way to the door. Yellowface followed, not saying anything to her as she waited until they left. She watched them open the door and walk out one after the other, before wincing as it was slammed by Loser.
This team could often be unbearable.. but it was all she had. Maybe getting Liy on their side wasn't such a bad idea after all...

Whilst this meeting was happening, Basketball and the other two had decided it was a good time to make their escape. Because of the security bot at the door, they couldn't use that as a reliable exit so had to make their departure through a window. Tennisball was nervous about this but Basketball reassured him. Weirdly, Snowball was very determined. He seemed to really want to get outside and away from that place. Well.. it wasn't that weird, who could blame him.
Despite her guilt, Basketball knew she had to do this. Plus there was no turning back now.. they were going to use the window in Basketballs room, just below it were some bushes. They were kind of high up.. so they would have to jump into the bushes so they could have a safe landing. Snowball had the window open while he held onto the hande, wincing from the rain that was being blown inside by the wind, peering outside.
"Ugh." He moved back and went to grab the umbrella, knowing he would need it. He leaned away from the window to look at the other two, who were just doing their final bits. Basketball was making sure there was nothing that indicated Snowball staying in her room before she left, and Tennisball was pacing as he mentally prepared himself.
"..Looks like everything is where it should be.." Basketball spoke slowly, turning to where Snowball was gradually. He opened his umbrella inside, Tennisball jumping at the sight of in and going into panic. "D-Don't do that! It's bad luck!"
Snowball looked up over to him, raising an eyebrow in confusion. "What? Like I care for your stupid nerd superstitions. When are we leaving?" He turned to Basketball, picking up the duffle bag in his other hand effortlessly. His leg had fully healed now.. he was completely able to walk without using any support.
"..Hm.." She sighed and thought, walking over to the window and where Snowball was to see what it looked like out there. She squinted and leaned out of it, gazing up at the clouds and the late evening sky.. the sun was nowhere to be seen, neither was the moon. The clouds were covering it too much, the rain wasn't stopping any time soon. "..Let's go. We have everything. "
"Who's going f-first?" Tennisball stammered instantly, looking around nervously. "I-Im uh, still worried-"
"-I'll do it, no worries..Tennisball." Basketball gave a reassuring smile, knowing he was still struggling with this. Jumping out of a window was not something she saw herself doing but.. as long as she survived she would do a lot of things. She swallowed her reasonable nerves and turned back to it, Snowball to the side of her as he looked down at the ground, observing where she had to jump. "You'll be fine. Even if you don't make it you'll just. Uh, bounce." Snowball commented, her glaring over to him at his unhelpful support.
"Jee, thanks." She calmed down though since she knew his words had good intention, exhaling and looking back outside. "..I hope it's not going to rain too much.."
She pushed over the chair they had brought to the room so that she could help herself up onto the window edge without struggle. She then proceeded to stand on it slowly, taking a step on the edge and placing her foot on the plastic. Seemed easy enough.. she tried to make out the bottom and where the bushes were, which wasn't too difficult because the light from the windows mildly illuminated the area. She got a general idea of where she needed to land..
"Here goes nothing.." She closed her eyes and made a soft yelp as she pushed herself out of the frame, falling. She had never fell from such a height before, it was strange.. she could feel the wind and rain hitting her harshly and she hoped it wouldn't blow her in a different direction. She kept her eyes squeezed shut, so she didn't expect the impact of the landing.. and when she was met face first with a bunch of leaves and sticks from the bush, she calmed down. It broke her fall, and she looked around briefly to make sure that she hadn't hurt anything .. she was fine.
This was good.. but would Snowball survive this? Surely the sticks would impale him.. she tried not to think about it, the bush was fairly firm so she kind of just landed on the top. She managed to free herself, stumbling backwards and kicking off some leaves, before looking up at the window and smiling in reassurance. Snowball was glad to see she was okay, Tennisball biting his lip from behind.. he didn't watch any of that.
"I-Is she okay..?" He stammered shyly to Sb. Snowball rolled his eyes and turned to him. "Uh, duh. She's fine.." he replied harshly, Tennisball not feeling very safe from his tone. From where Basketball was, she didn't realise how high up the window actually was.. seeing the window from all the way down there made her feel even more worried than she did before..
Tennisball wearily walked over, trembling at the thought of having to jump down there, unable to see it very well. He flinched as Snowball spoke up, shrieking quietly. "Well, it's your turn. Might as well get it over with." Snowball instructed, observing other object with an unamused look.
Tennisball was uncertain.. he didn't know if he could bring himself to do it. He nervously peeked over the edge briefly, before turning back to Snowball. "I.. I can't do itt.." he whined, backing up a little. "I.. It's too high.."
Snowball stared, "Wh-What..? But you have to! You can't just NOT do it! We are way to far into this to back off now!" He snapped at him, in disbelief he would start this now.
Tennisball shook his head no. "I-.. I'm..I'm sorry.." he apologised weakly, stammering. "I-"
"You HAVE to! You don't really have a choice here!" Snowball scolded, getting impatient with him. "What's your problem? Why are you changing your mind NOW?"
Basketball heard talking but she didn't know what was happening.. what was going on up there? Could she not leave them alone for five seconds without a problem occuring?
"Just go out the window Tb!" Snowball whisper shouted, conscious of being heard by anyone around, looking back at the door. "We have to hurry or someone might FIND us. Come on!" He turned back to him, growing impatient and hostile.
Tennisball was still scared, though. He swallowed and shakily made his way to the chair, attempting to stand on it slowly, his knees still bent as he wasn't able to stand up straight. He stared out the window, wincing as the wind and rain blew at him. He attempted to stand on the window ledge but his foot slipped because of the wetness of the rain. He shrieked and backed away, jumping down. "I-I can't!" He whimpered.
"Ughh!" Snowball growled and slammed the bag down, as well as the open umbrella. "Pull yourself together! After ALL of this, are you SERIOUSLY going to risk all the work we've done because you can't handle a little height?? Come ON Tennisball." Snowball complained angrily, his voice harsh to the other object. It didn't help, it only made Tennisball feel worse.
Basketball squinted, trying to make out what was happening. Were they arguing? She groaned quietly and looked around, not knowing how long they were going to take. They didn't have time for this.. they needed to get out of that area now.
"W-Why are you always so harsh with me? You've NEVER liked me since w-we came together in the forest. Why..?" Tennisball questioned weakly, his voice filled with nervousness from what they were doing. Snowball growled and yanked up the bag again, throwing the strap over his shoulder aggressively. "I don't HAVE a problem with you! Let's just hurry up and go!"
"But-"
"Now, Tennisball! We don't have enough time for this." Snowball lowered his voice, glaring at him with disapproval and visible disappointment. Tennisball felt hurt seeing him so angry with him, looking back out the window again.. and it seemed worse than last time.. he was too scared, but he knew he had to. He couldn't just refuse to do it forever..
Tennisball weakly stepped up on the chair again, panicking internally. Snowball went to join him from behind, both his hands occupied. He walked on the ledge to the side of Tb, gazing upwards and squinting at the rain and dark clouds. "You won't even know it happened." Snowball told him, admittedly a little nervous but not as much as Tennisball was.
He was finding it hard to be empathetic with Tb because he didn't understand why he was so afraid. It didn't even cross Snowballs mind and he proceeded to jump. Tennisball squeezed his eyes shut before following suite, scared.
He seemed to be okay. He kept waiting for the impact of the fall, wincing as the wind violently blew at him which made him squeeze his eyes tighter... he didn't expect that to cause problems, but the wind was so strong it pushed him backwards in the air. He then experienced an unexpected harsh impact to his head, and suddenly he seemed mentally lost.
"Tv? What are you doing here? You know it's late.. " Tennisball quickly hid the device he was making on the desk behind himself, anxiety immediately taking over because of how close he was to being caught. Since Tv was allegedly being controlled, if whoever it was saw that Tennisball was making a device to find them, they would not take it well.. they'd probably try and destroy it.
"..Tv?" Tennisball felt himself step back as he got closer and didn't speak. His screen was blank and he was faceless.. oh no.. was it happening? Tennisballs eyes darted around his room, before looking back at Tv. "Can.. I-I help you? I..." he noticed him turn to his workbench, and he seemed to catch a glimpse of the device.
Tennisball stood silently.. did he know? Surely not.. was that was he was here? It must be the group that was controlling him.. Tennisball felt himself think in a panic and lunged at the device, trying to grab it away and keep it safe. Tv kicked him away though, and Tennisball stumbled back into a pile of boxes, some of the contents spilling on top of him and tumbling to the ground.
His glasses fell so his vision was blurry, but he could make out Tv going over to the device. He seemed to pick it up with the wire on his body, wrapping it around the device and crushing like a can, he could hear it snapping and cracking under the pressure. Tennisball tried to stand and shake away what had fallen onto him, rushing over and knocking into Tv in an attempt to stop him. "STOP! Please Tv, snap out of it!!" He cried, watching as Tv stumbled back because of him.
He couldn't see much, everything was blurry and hard to make out, looking around on the floor to see if the device had been dropped. He cried out in pain as suddenly he was whacked across the face with something heavy and hard, the pain not quite sinking in until a few seconds later. Tears formed his eyes from it as he fell backwards, trying to back up from him. "S-Stop it! HELP!" He screamed out for support and turned his face away, crying in pain as Tv whacked him again, digging one of his tools into the other object and using it to rip away at him.
It was a hammer. Tennisball tried to keep backing up but eventually the boxes stopped him, feeling himself losing consciousness as he was whacked over and over with the painful weapin. All he could see was the green parts of his body, being torn away, before he whacked deeper into him. He wasn't quite dead, or unconscious, but it was like he was so out of it he couldn't feel the pain anymore.. except he could. He wasn't registering what was happening, drifting off into a numb unconsciousness as everything faded out.
"Tennisball! Please!" Basketball begged him to wake up, shaking him vigorously with her foot. The wind had slammed him against the building after he jumped, and some of the stitched in parts had been ripped away from him after the impact. There was some stuffing along the ground from his fall, and the rain was soaking it.
Snowball had fallen away from the bush too but.. he was okay - just mildly injured.. he had the umbrella over himself as the rain pounded onto Tennisball and Basketball, watching wearily from behind as Basketball pleaded for him to wake up, not saying anything.
Luckily.. he did. Tennisball groggily blinked his eyes open barely, clearly lost and confused as he tried to see what was happening around him and catch up on what had just happened. Basketball let out a sound of joy and proceeded to lean down to him in a hug motion, overwhelmed. "Thank goodness-! O-Oh, I'm so glad you're okay! I-I thought I lost you.."
"Wh..what..?" Tennisball whispered and blinked, being met with Basketball and having a glimpse of Snowball just behind her.. he looked around with his eyes and noticed the stuffing. "...A..Am ..I injured..?" He croaked, tired.
"A l-little. You should be fine, though.." she reassured, parting from him. She had clearly just experienced a large scare.. if she had lost Tennisball there and then, she wouldn't know what to do. She was so glad he was okay. Snowball awkwardly watched this play out, not too sure what to say in the situation.. he felt bad, obviously. He didn't expect him to actually get hurt from that but... he wasn't really sure what to say.
Tennisball groaned longingly, attempting to stand up from where he was with the help of Basketball... before remembering what he had envisioned.
..That was.. the night he was attacked, before the group left to the warehouse. He hadn't been able to remember that since he woke up from the hospital...
He never thought he would be able to remember that.
"..L-Lets hurry and get as far away from here as possible, okay? We need to find some sort of shelter." Basketball softly spoke to him, knowing he was probably trying to understand his surroundings after having lost consciousness for a few seconds.
"Right." Snowball agreed instantly, watching her help Tennisball up from the ground, him wobbling. Snowball turned around so he didn't have to make eye contact with him "..Follow ..uh, me. I should know where to go. Also.. watch out for bear traps." He bluntly warned, before taking lead into the trees. Basketball muttered small things to Tennisball, helping him walk as they followed Snowball.. she was so glad he was okay. She for sure thought that he was a goner.. Tennisball was still mildly confused, but everything was coming back to him now.
It had been so long since he had managed to gain any new memories after that incident..
