83: Falling apart.
CW: Themes of suicidal thoughts.
Front Row had lost sight of the group, and unfortunately did not know where they had went. Two was absolutely fuming, this was their last straw to finally do something dramatic about the security. They had something extremely different in mind, something that would change everything. Unfortunately they could not make it themselves so needed Basketball to do it, but that still didn't change how angry they were about all of this.
Their main concern was how their group managed to lose them. It baffled Two; how their group managed to let this slide and allow this to happen right in front of them, what went wrong? How was the intruders not caught?! After being told some information, turns out Blackhole was a traitor and had probably been pretending the whole time, they wanted him dead. He was long gone though.
Once Front Row came back empty handed, Two called for an emergency meeting inside the hall, with mandatory attendance..they had been aware they still had Pin locked up, as well as X, but that wasn't good enough, it really fucking wasn't. It wasn't about just that, it was about the fact that something this big had managed to slip through everyones fingers and ended up working out just how the opposite side had planned. Blackhole must've prepared to do this the whole time! Did he lie to Fries about wanting to surrender? Two also noticed some other mistakes that caught their eye, and they were going to bring it up in the meeting.
"Please.. PLEASE can someone tell me how this managed to happen?!" Two raged, their face in their hands in distress.. how did this even occur?! They eyed the crowd up and down and glared at each of them expectantly, as if they were supposed to give a valid answer. Donut was looking across to the side as he was forced to stand next to the number, Coiny making no expression as he too endured the same.
"Am I talking to a WALL?! Someone better speak up BEFORE I LOSE IT!!!" Two screamed, clenching their fists together tighter. Loser knew that Barfbag wanted him to keep quiet about this whole thing where Fries knew the plan and everything, so had to be careful about what he said. The whole group was crowded together within the hall, watching as Two stood there at the front in an utter rage and waited for a valid response. Fries noticed Donut looked uncomfortable.. he didn't blame him.
"F-Front Row went to the electrical room, Two. They were trapped there by Blackhole.." Barfbag pointed out, kind of intimidated by Twos glare. "Fries escaped but was knocked out. Leafy escaped after.. but.."
Right.. she was currently in the medical room with Basketball after receiving that awful injury. Tree awkwardly looked to the side, hoping nobody would catch on that he had been in on this.. Loser noticed him look away.. he decided to say nothing just yet about his suspicions on him.
"I ALREADY know THAT.." Two snarled, growing further irritated by the lack of answers. "I'm fully AWARE of what Blackhole did.. once I get my hands on him.. oh, you don't want to know.." they spoke through gritted teeth, their tone deadly. Coiny gripped his sword tight, trying to endure through this shouting.
Everytime someone..mentioned CLOCK or PIN or ERASER, even.. "Blocky" .. he got faint visions and memories of them. He was starting to get distressed due to them all, and was finding it hard not to care. He didn't want to care, he didn't want to remember. He squeezed his eyes shut and just hoped that the visions would go away.. he just wanted to leave this stupid room.
"Well, the lights came on and then we chased them-" Balloony began, but was cut off. "Yeah, then what?!" Two snapped, not pronouncing their t. "How did they do all that and manage to get away?! You have a GUN, Balloony! Come on!"
"Loser took it and shot instead!" He retorted panickedly, defending himself immediately. Loser flinched and scoffed as he was put in the spotlight, crossing his arms as Two was now glaring at him instead. "How dare you blame this on me. We ALL got tricked by Blackhole, not just me! We ALL fail-" Two cut him off again.
"I don't CARE. Do you not all realise how fucking serious this is?! I don't understand HOW you all did so badly.. they are OUT THERE, FREE!!!" Two roared, pointing behind themselves. Their voice was so loud, nobody wanted to speak.
"UNTIL we find anything, I want Front Row outside day and NIGHT looking for them, or anyone else. I'm sick of this constant FAILURE!!!!" They boomed, Donut looking down to his bowtie and adjusting it. He didn't want to look up
Bell quietly groaned. Two perked up hearing her. "You got a problem?!"
"N..No, " She stuttered quickly, surprised by the sudden direct speaking towards her.
"Unless things are resolved, expect everything to get a LOT harder.." They threatened her lowly. Donut exhaled silently as Two continued "SOMETHING is happening. I don't know WHAT, but I know some of you do. There are definitely some of you who are up to something..."
Fries tensed up as soon as Two said this, but tried not to show a clear reaction..they were catching on? Jeez.. Tennisball and Basketball exchanged glances.. Tb thought it was about Snowball.. Basketball still hadn't told him about Four and Donut yet..
Gelatin didn't make any reaction and hoped Donut would keep down as well, and Loser and Yellowface looked at each other for a brief moment. Two sighed loudly, rubbing their temples angrily. "I mean, what else is it gonna be! Obviously stuff is happening behind my back..and, I REALLY, really, do NOT like liars, let me tell you that."
They glared at each of them, crossing their arms and deciding to speak their thoughts further. "I know one of you are stood thrre absolutely horrified.. I should've known I was dealing with some traitors.. why wouldn't I be? I shouldn't be surprised.." They laughed, but not in a happy way.
"One of you helped.. It's obvious! You don't think I'm that stupid, do you???" They sneered. Donut didn't like where this was going, even if he knew Two probably wasn't referring to anything to do with Fries or himself..Fries covered it too well.. right? There was no way they would've caught on..
Two suddenly darkened, becoming more serious. They slowly made their way over to the crowd, Donut tensing up as soon as they moved over.. a rush of thoughts ran through his head and he quickly became panicked. Coiny opened his eyes slowly hearing Two walk away, unsure on what they were doing now.
Two seemed to stop in front of the group, uncomfortably close. They took a few moments to look at each of them, before putting their hands behind their back and tilting their head. "Did you think I wouldn't notice? Did you think I wouldn't KNOW?"
Are they talking about Fries?
Is this about Snowball?
Did Donut finally get caught?
"I'm surprised you thought you could lie to me, it's literally the WORST lie.. I mean, COME on. It was so obvious.. did you think you could run away, and then claim you got KINDAPPED???"
Barfbag quickly caught onto who Two was referring too, and honestly felt mild relief. Actually..satisfaction too. The fact that Price Tag was about to get called out for what they did was kind of amusing, since she had never really liked them anyways. Fries relaxed because it didn't sound like anything he had done.. but he was still worried about where this was turning.
Two swung their hand to Price Tag and picked up them up in a swift motion, gripping them by their string. They yelled and squirmed, kicking their legs as they dangled from the others hand. "H-Hey! Are you crazy?! Put me down!"
"Two-" Donut tried to speak, but was hushed by the numeral. Two proceeded to hold Price Tag up against their own face, glaring at their worried expression.
"You are a LIAR. As soon as Blackhole got here, I knew it was strange. If what you said was true, you would have been all OVER him, asking him where the base was, calling him out over the fact that you were "kidnapped".. You would have made a scene, but you DIDN'T. Do you know why?"
Price Tag didn't utter a word, completely in awe from what was happening. Loser decided to chip in, amused by the turn of events. "Because they didn't want the truth to be revealed?" He suggested humbly.
Two glared at him. "Exactly." They seethed, before turning their attention back to Price Tag in a rage. "CLEARLY, there never WAS a base. You just ran away, and didn't want us to go back to the "base" because you KNEW that there wasn't any base in the first place!!! You are a LIAR. You obviously just stumbled across those objects and joined them.. didn't you?!"
Fries gripped his shovel tight.. well, that wasn't entirely right but, he wasn't going to complain.. Two kind of got muddled with the actual truth but, this works too. Fries heard stuff about Price Tag while back at the base anyways, they were not nice. He wasn't exactly too bothered if something happened to them.
Basketball felt guilty, though. She tried to speak up, uneasy "H-Hey.. come on, would they really do that?" She kind of didn't trust Price Tag but.. was Two being too harsh? Two didn't like that, so she backed down.
"I don't like liars, and I HATE..... traitors.." Two slowly spoke, before grabbing Price Tag in both their hands. Price Tag didn't even get to yell because Two ripped them in half in front of everyone.. they were all left dumbfounded, staring at the back of Price Tags dismantled body.
"Tennisball, Basketball, come with me."

Snow had began to pick up again, which was extremely annoying because everyone had began to think that the crazy weather was finally going to stop. Although the fire was quick and deadly, the snow was slow and deadly. It made it so that food was harder to get, that it was harder to get around, and sleeping carried of a risk because of the mild chance that they would die from the cold in their sleep.
It was more annoying for Firey because he had to keep eating yoyle berries. As soon as snow picked up he started to get frustrated, not like he wasn't anyways because of what happened earlier with the paper file. Stapy had gone off to go collect more wood, meanwhile Firey was left to build.
He finished quick, actually. Stapy hadn't returned so he decided to sit down by the tree and think to himself for a little. The ground was cold underneath him, as snowflakes began to pile on the blades of grass. It was light snow.. for now. Stapy couldn't be out too long.
Firey had his hand resting on his knee with his legs apart, the crumpled piece of paper in his hands.. he was so ...ANGRY at Two. How could they stoop this low? He was doubting the paper for a little but gave in eventually.. he just thought about how all this time.. this was the truth. This was why Coiny didn't care .. and it hurt so MUCH.
His close friend had pulled away so quickly a little after Two arrived, just when the war was starting. Firey had been mad at Coiny this whole time but he should have known that wasn't him. Of course it wasn't him..
He couldn't ..get over it. His best friend had LOST his memory. It hurt so much to just think it and he couldn't even admit it with his own words. He unwrapped the paper reluctantly, wanting to double check what it said. He knew that it was true, he knew that it said he lost his memory, but he wanted to believe it didn't. He wanted this to be fake.
He hadn't hurt this much since Cake and Book died, he felt like he had lost something huge. He missed them so much and, he hadn't missed Coiny before.. well, a little, but now he really missed him, because it felt like even though he was alive, he had died .. because that ..object was no longer his friend.
Why did things always go bad for him? He just kept.. losing his friends over and over. His gripped the paper in his hand and his eyes ran over the words once more and it was no surprise that it just read the same thing.. he slammed it to the ground in anger because he couldn't read the rest .. he just couldn't bring himself to it. Snowflakes fluttered and landed on the paper, sinking into it. He screwed it up and held it to his body.. it felt like the only proof he had of Coinys existence.
Stapy had been on his way back to where Firey was supposed to be, carrying a bunch of sticks. What happened earlier hadn't stopped replaying in his head.. he was remembering the words and trying to get his mind over it. Honestly, even though it wasn't really anything to do with him, it was still upsetting and shocking. How many people knew? The file was out here so it must've found a way out of the base somehow.. but... how? Did someone throw it out? Lose it?
There was a possibility it was fake even.. he was just so surprised. He was holding a bunch of logs above his head as he hopped along, humming quietly in thought. He had noticed a little ago that snow had began to pick up again... he wasn't too bothered, honestly it was refreshing if anything. Although it was cold he didn't mind too much..
He hopped along the grass and recognised where he was, knowing Firey should've been somewhere around here. After making his way around and peering behind trees to see if he was by them, he caught a glimpse of metal glistening in the low evening light. He smiled and dropped down the logs, proceeding to make his way over.
He opened his mouth to speak and greet Firey, however he didn't get a chance to as he was cut off by Firey himself, who made a soft weeping sound... Stapy stopped in his tracks just from behind him. Aw, man, was he crying? Er... he wasn't too sure how to handle that kind of situation. Actually, he had no idea. He did feel bad though..
It must've been about Coiny or something.. Firey hadn't been acting the same since they found that file. Honestly..Stapy wasn't even sure if he should have given it to him. Maybe Firey would have been better off without knowing the trutt.. it wouldn't have changed the fact Coiny had amnesia but.. it would change the fact Firey knew.
Stapy awkwardly watched as Firey mildly sobbed, hiccuping and sniffling as he used his hand to wipe his tears away. He seemed pretty upset about it.. I mean, Stapy would be too if that happened to one of his friends. Something like that was arguably worse than death. It was like.. they died, but were still alive as someone else youl didn't know. All your memories together had no relevance anymore.
Stapy reluctantly made his way over, kind of hesitant and weirdly intimidated.. he never really knew what to do in a situation like this. It wasn't his... er, thing. He held his arm, hopping up to him from the side. "Uhh.. Firey?" He called. Firey tensed up at the sound of his name and the sound of Stapys voice, wiping his eyes in a rapid panic as he didn't want them to be visible to the other object
"Go away.." He sniffed, sounding hurt. He purposely turned his body to face away from Stapy, wiping his eyes with his arm. Stapy rolled his eyes at his defensive attitude, trying to move into is view. "Hey, what did I do?? I'm just checking up on you.."
Firey stared at the ground to avoid looking at him, upset. Stapy noticed that the file was in his hand and he was holding it tight, that he didn't want to let go. He frowned, looking around "Uhh.. look, are you okay?" He wondered softly, trying to be careful with his words due to the others fragile state .
"I'm fine." He spat back instantly, not wanting to talk. Stapy wasn't doing a very good job at this, not sure what to do next. He looked around in thought, attempting to think of something to say.. this was difficult "Uhh, you sure? Cuz, you're not looking so goodddd.." he pointed out, shrugging.
"Leave me ALONE, Stapy.."
Stapy wasn't sure if that was a good idea, he wasn't sure how upset Firey could get. He awkwardly bit his lip, fiddling with his hands. "Uhh,.. do you wanna talk about it?" He continued, wanting to be helpful.
Firey sniffed, glaring over at Stapy and watching him force a sudden awkward smile, knowing he was testing Fireys paitence. Firey exhaled weakly, well.. at least he was making an effort. "I don't..know.." he trailed off, his voice croaking. He tried to rub his arm for warmth, to help himself emotionally. Stapy hopped over to him, "Why are you so upset?" He questioned. The snow picked up a little more, snowflakes landing more frequently onto the ground and onto the pair.
"Uh, isn't that obvious??" He snarled sarcastically, hostile at the stupid question. Stapy was intimidated by his angry look, putting his arms up in defensive "Hey hey hey!!! I was just trying to help, jeez!"
Firey just groaned, burying his head into his arm to avoid the other. Stapy softened up and lowered his hands, swallowing. He went to speak up but Firey did it for him, finally deciding to speak to the other about his feelings.
"I ..just... want to die." He whispered painfully, his expression not visible to the other object. His words stung the both of them, it hurt Firey himself the most.. every time he said it aloud hurt more then when he thought it in his head. He bit his lip to hold back any more tears. He did not want to violently cry in front of stupid Stapy. Stapy rubbed his own arm, swallowing his nerves after hearing such a ..harsh statement. It was hurtful to hear him admit that right to his face.
Stapy wasn't sure how to reply to such a deep statement, it was hard for him to find something to say. "..Why?" He asked bluntly.
Firey wiped his eyes angrily, looking away and at the tree. "BECAUSE Stapy! It's..so.. difficult carrying all of this... pain..." He trailed off once his voice cracked, his voice quieter down the line of his sentence ".. Where am I supposed to put it? It ..feels so heavy .. I can't keep this up.." his voice was wavering. He hated when he had to talk about this. He would rather talk to Fries.
It just.. hurt. He hadn't been feeling great but when this bad news was shoved up in his face it was like a dagger had went through him, like it was the final blow .. the final straw. He didn't see any point in living, it hurt too much hope for the future when everything seemed useless and ruined, it hurt too much to have hope that things would get better when they were just.. too bad to be recovered from.
"Are you sure that isn't the effect of the yoyle berries??" Stapy suggested jokingly. Firey turned to him and growled, prepared to whack him "Are you serious right now?!" He yelled.
"Okay okay!!" Stapy replied quickly, putting a hand on his shoulder to make him calm down. Firey rolled his eyes, turning from him. "Tsch.." He wish he could talk to Fries instead.. he took him seriously and knew what to say. This just felt like a normal conversation with Stapy.. did he even care? Clearly fucking not. It made him angry thinking about it.
"Look, er.." Stapy bit his lip, letting go. ".. Maybe we can try and find Fries and tell him about this? He might know a way to help us.. or like, .. help.. Coiny?"
"How is he gonna do that?" He shot, but weakly.
"I don't knoww?" He shrugged "..But.. at least telling him will make things a little easier for us.. Fries has helped you in the past.. why can't he help now?"
Firey thought about it.. maybe he COULD help somehow.. he wondered if he even knew, maybe he already did.. wouldn't he have said something though? Probably not.. Firey groaned longingly, burying himself in his arm once again. Maybe he could talk to Fries about his feelings too ..since Stapy was the worst at listening.
He didn't feel relieved, he didn't feel better, and he most certainly didn't feel happy.
"Fine..." Firey whispered.
