119: Deja vu.

Gore warning.

By this time, it was really late..around 1am, closing in on 2am. Nobody should have been awake at this time, but of course they were. Tree and his group had found a nice resting place to spend their night, under another tree that provided a good enough shelter to be safe from the snow. It was rather big.. and it looked like someone had already been there due to some left over burned wood. The group wasn't able to set up their own fire however, and were left cold as the snow continued to fall from the night sky.

Lighting and Gaty were fast asleep, Tree was unable to follow suite. He had tried to close his eyes and drift off many times, but his mind wondered elsewhere each attempt. He was stressed about the snow.. and what they were going to do when it got worse. Everything was getting worse and worse.. Lightning couldn't keep going out in it. Days like this he couldn't stand Two.

He was sat against the trunk of the tree, his legs to his body as he stared out at the piling snow. How were they going to do this .. could they do this? He wished he hadn't underestimated how cold it would be.. he hadn't ever really spent time outside like this.. he didn't realise how hard to was to survive. He respected those who managed to do so for this long.

He kept his body tucked together as the bitter wind passed through him, ruffling his leaves and making a gentle sound as they did. He shuffled himself back, trying to keep himself warm..there was no use trying to sleep through this ..he could just watch over the other two. He glanced over to them for a moment, they were huddled up against each other as they snoozed.. they must've done so for warmth. They were both slumped back, Gaty was lightly snoring with her mildly ajar mouth. Tree couldn't help but chuckle at how she looked, looking off to the side again.

Snap

He perked up like a deer, his eyes scanning the area as a familar feeling of anxiety grew within him, starting small but getting bigger the more he glanced around and checked out the area repeatedly. What was that? WHO was that? He swallowed, moving his legs downwards away from his body... where was that duffle bag. He looked around for it, spotting it next to Gaty and Lightning as they slept. He then slumped over and lay on the ground, wincing and stretching as he slowly unzipped it, trying to be quiet.

Snap

Another sound.. there was definitely someone there. He felt himself begin to panic without wanting to, imagining the worst scenario. What if they had been found by Two? He couldn't go back. He..he WOULDN'T go back. His arm trembled as he swiped up the knife he packed, grasping it by its black handle.

He turned back to the distance.. where could it have came from. He wasn't sure what to do about the other two.. wake them? He stood slowly, his legs weak from the nervousness he was feeling.. he tried to pull himself together, glaring into the distance with forced confidence.

Say nothing.. he moved away from the tree with a heavy feeling of anxiety weighing on his shoulders, kicking his way through the piled snow while the knife pointed outwards in front of him, holding onto it like his life depended on it. The only sound was the snow as he walked through it.. surely someone was here? He turned back to his group wearily, making sure that they weren't being attacked or snuck up on.

They were fine.. in fact, Lightning began to slowly wake up from his slumber, stretching his arms with a low grunt and whimper. He blinked his eyes tiredly, his eyelids uneven as he was still bringing himself to conciousness "Mgh.. Tree..?" He yawned shyly, seeing his silhouette in the distance while he lazily sat up. "Where..are you going?" His voice woke up Gaty, who seemed to shuffle and move before she did.

"I-"

"Tree?"

The voice he didn't recognise startled him to the point he heard nothing else around him, and his first reaction was to swing his knife around and stab who had said his name in defense, blinded by fear. He usually wouldn't have acted so rash, but his fear mixed with his intention to protect his friends has caused his reaction. The knife definitely hit someone, because he heard them cry out once his blade made contact with their body.

Metal..

The knife made a sound of metal clinking once he stabbed them.

It made him realise that, in fact he hadn't even stabbed them properlu, the knife did nothing. He was too panicked to process his surrondings, his breath hitching as he looked at who stood there in front of him, trembling.

"Tree! Tree! Calm down! I-Its me! Pen!" Pen suddenly came stumbling out of the bush and stumbled to a fault, laughing awkwardly and trying to put his hands out in defence, shaking them eagerly. Tree could hardly stand, his arm trembling as it held the knife with weak fingers. Pen..? He said nothing, it felt like his stomach was in his throat.

Pen tried to wait until he was more stable, looking over to Anchor, who had been sliced by Trees knife. "Are ..you alright?" He asked the other object, putting a hand on him in concern.

"I-I'm fine. Ha.. just a little surprised..it doesn't hurt that much." Anchor excused, waving his arm as the other held onto a branch to keep himself stood. Tree couldn't move, Lightning zooming passed him and crashing into Pen, ignoring the pain of the snow.

"PEN!!!" Lightning rejoiced happily, knocking the taller object down. Pen laughed weakly and hugged him back, a small smile appearing on his face from the excitement of the other object. "L-Lightning! I'm so glad you're okay.. I-I thought you got taken? I-I..I saw..-" Lightning cut him off.

"Tree helped me escape!" Lightning exclaimed happily, parting but still holding Pen by his shoulders, staring down at the other object as he had him pinned in the snow. "Gaty too! Oh, I'm so happy to see you! I haven't seen anyone from our group and.. oh, this is so awesome!" He was clearly overwhelmed in a good way, Pen finding his enthusiasm about his appearance a compliment. It was nice to see Lightning too.. finally..someone from the lab. He had been looking for so long... this was a huge relief. The worst case scenario was that they were all dead so.. to have at least one of them by his side made him feel better.

"Pen!" Gaty came trotting over, taking a look at both the objects as she cane to a hault. "And.. Anchor..? Hey, I thought you died?" Gaty added on afterwards. "Tree.. didn't you.. say he died when you came back from the forest?" Pen stood up as Lightning parted.

Tree looked over to Anchor.. that was right. Anchor.. had died, right? Well.. he got stuck in that bear trap when the fire was there and they had to leave him.. and find Nickel. Tree was speechless, looking down at the debuters leg. It was wrapped with some reeds.. that must've been from the trap. Tree heard Anchor say something to him, but Tree didn't hear, dropping the knife and hugging him in reflex.

"I-..I'm so happy you're alive." He whispered shakily to Anchor as tears threatened to prick his eyes, catching the other object offguard. "O-Of course I am.." Anchor weakly laughed, rubbing the taller objects back. He looked to the side.

"Everyone else..I-I think is dead." Tree croaked, his arms trembling as they held Anchor. "R-Robot Flower.. Nickel.. and.. there's no signal at the warehouse. I..I thought I lost everyone.." his uneasy voice made Pen feel guilty, gazing at the both of them with sorrow.

Anchor hesitated.. they..were ALL dead?

He..had no idea. How.. did they all die so quickly..?

"P-Pen! Have you seen anyone else?" Lightning blurted, as if he was desperate to ask the question. He was trying to keep out of the snow as much as possible. Pen shook his head in response, looking to Lightning rather than the other two. "I-I only found Anchor, in a bear trap.. so..unfortunately I found nobody else.."

Pen noticed that Lightning wasn't connected to Fanny.. he hadn't realised this before ... he thought the both of them had been taken away when he saw it happen. Was..Fanny dead? He..decided not to ask about such a sensitive thing since.. that was the impression he got. But..that hurt. If she was dead he.. he felt bad. She didn't deserve that...

He was nervous to who else had died.. Fanny was only just the start. He had run off fairly early so didn't see any of the attacks. He..really hoped Snowball was okay.. he knew he would be an easy object to kill..especially with all the weapons they had. Blocky and Eraser too... he tried to push those thoughts away and try not to stress about it too much, trying to stay positive about this situation.

Lightnings face looked sad.. he was obviously dissapointed at the news but tried not to let that show as much as possible. He inhaled shakily. "It's okay! We.. we have each other now. We can find the group together.." he held his arm, wincing and sparking as some snow landed on him.

"So.. Tree.." Pen looked over to him, a hand on his waist as Tree parted ways with Anchor. "Long time no see, huh? And you almost stabbed me." He grinned jokingly. The pair hadn't actually seen each other since the war began.. they went such different ways.

"P-Pen.. I.." Tree was still trying to keep up with everything. "..I..don't know what to.. say.. this is-"

He winced as Pen then hugged him. Tree hesitated for a moment, before softening up his body and calming his tense exterior. He leaned his head on Pens shoulder, Pen listening as his leaves rustled in the wind. "Nice to see ya, bud." Pen comforted, looking off to the side with a weak smile.

"So you're not dead?" Gaty gazed up at at Anchor again, repeating it since she was still lost. He shook his head, laughing gently. "Uh, yeah..no. I'm here..I'm pretty sure.." he rubbed the back of his head. "I-I was caught in a bear trap in the fire.. so, I told the group to go. I was melted a little.. as you can see but.. the fire wasn't enough to kill me. I was left in that trap for a long time though, ha.. I struggled to get out with just one arm." He explained kindly, seeming a little shy about it. "It's only reasonable they assumed I was dead.."

Pen had caught him up to date with everything to do with Fries and Donut. It was...interesting. Anchor had never hated anyone before but.. Two really took the trophy for that one.

The group moved back over to the tree, as Lightning was struggling to deal with the snow. It was nice to see Pen.. Tree was still wrapping his head around it. Two of his friends.. one who he never expected to see again and one that he hadn't seen for a few months. This was so nice.. he was so happy.

"So..you're looking for them too, then?" Pen questioned Gaty, who nodded in affirmation, taking a seat by the tree where she had previously been resting. "Yup! We escaped and are prettyyyyy much doing exactly that. I guess you're doing the same thing, huh?" Gaty wondered, a her smile infectious.

Pen nodded, sliding down against the tree to sit. "I ..I am. I know it's around this area..so ..we're close! I feel kind of bad though.. I hope the others don't think I'm dead or something ." He laughed light-heartedly.

"It's okay! We'll find them soon, no doubt." Lightning encouraged joyfully, giving a grin to Gaty.

Nobody should've been awake now.. that's what Liy thought. She had waited in her bed, unaware of the time but had waited long enough to feel as if she could trust her judgement. It was late enough anyways..surely nobody would be awake at this time. She needed nobody to be awake because of how risky this task was.. if she got caught this might as well be the end of her.

She proceeded to go and leave her room as soon as she felt it was safe. Under the desk... some room under the desk. She would've never have guessed that Two would have some secret room where they kept a bunch of classified information. She couldn't believe she was doing this but she felt like she needed to, so that she could find out more.. she wanted to see and hear this CD for herself. She opened up her door slowly, greeted to a deep void of what was the light-less hallway.

She realised what she was doing was a lot like what Fries did. Shit. She was a hypocrite... now she knew how he felt.

She muttered mindless words to herself as she travelled through the dark hallway, using the wall as a sort of guide. The building was definitely a lot scarier at night.. she didn't realise it would feel this eerie. She stepped along the carpeted floorboards as they creaked under her feet, her squinting as all she could make out was the dark silhouettes of her surroundings. The light had been turned off.. well, all the lights, so she couldn't see a thing.

Twos office was somewhere on this floor.. once she passed all the rooms, she took a corner, knowing that she would pass the camera room and the medical room on the way. She glanced down as she recognised the green glow of the medical room spilling out from under its own door, lighting up her legs as she walked passed it. Luckily it illuminated the area in a lime daze, so she could somewhat make out where she was going.

She snuck passed the rooms, being slow but not too slow, just enough to be quiet.

Wait..

"Sorry Liy, but opportunity strikes."

She winced in agony and grabbed her head at the sudden sharp pain that shocked her from her back, resisting the urge to shout out. She stumbled and grabbed onto the wall, heaving and panting from what she just experienced.

She looked around. nobody was there. What..what did she..

That memory..

Ugh.. what the fuck was that? What was...

She tried to rub her head, not knowing what had just ..happened to her. She breathed in shakily before moving forward again, trying to put aside what had just..occurred. She wasn't sure what that was.. but the pain was awful, like a sharp pain surging through the back of her body. She had never felt anything like it.. when she broke her arm it felt better than that.

What was happening..

She groaned lowly and forced herself to continue, getting to Twos office. Once she arrived she pushed open the door, peeking in wearily just in case.. she opened it fully once she came to the conclusion nobody was in there. Good. There was no lights around, which was frustrating.. she was struggling on where to take herself due to her lack of guidance. She looked down to make sure she wasn't standing on anything, creeping into the office and heading over to the desk, unable to see any of the features of the room due to how dark it was. The clock from this room had been removed so.. it was almost silent apart from her creaking footsteps. It felt so strange to be in here alone..

Right.. under the desk. She prayed Donut was right, because she didn't want to do all of this for nothing. She moved around to grab the edge of the large wooden structure that belonged to Two, grunting and pushing it. It took some effort to get it to move, but once she did it was easier, stepping forward gradually. She grunted and bit her lip at the squeaking noises as it dragged against the wood, hoping that nobody woke up to it.

Once she made sure she moved it enough, she kneeled down and began to trace the dusty textured wood with her palm. She felt something..an edge. She tried to feel around it with her other hand, staring in front of her since she couldn't see, before grabbing onto some sort of hatch. This must be it.

She stood up and lifted it at the same time, somewhat impressed that it wasn't locked. Clearly Two had no idea anyone had been in there..she grinned a little at their stupidness... thank you Two. She proceeded to feel around for some sort of ladder, and lucky for her she did.

She grabbed the cold metal with both of her hands, lowering herself into the even darker room with ease. She made sure to stay alert, her senses heightened due to the dangerous situation. The ladder shook due to her weight as she made her way down, a little startled once she touched the ground with her foot. Was there a light in here? Jeez.

It was PITCH black. She couldn't even see any silhouettes at this point. She looked up at the hole she came from, before looking back at the back mass that had engulfed her. She felt along the wall, touching some sort of switch with her fingertips. She decided to press it, and to her luck some light finally spilled into the room. The relief she felt was immeasurable.. she missed light.

Now.. where to look? She had been so focused on the light she hadn't noticed the tv set to her left.. that must've been what Fries saw. She felt slightly sick thinking about how she was doing exactly what he did, frowning as she made her way over to the metal cabinets to the other side of her.

The room was still dark.. and it smelled old. It had a strong scent of wet wood...not a nice smell, it was overbearing. She got used to it the more she was around it, brushing off some dust from the labels as she approached the cabinets.

Hmm.. looks like they were in alphabetical order. She immediately looked for C, not bothering with the rest of it...

She glanced to the side, spotting an L.

Should.. she look at her own?

No.. she didn't need to. She knew that she wasn't..well, nothing was wrong with her. She knew she didn't have amnesia like Coiny so.

But..earlier.

Ugh, her curiosity sucked, maybe she'd take a look at it after Coinys or something. She turned swiftly so she didn't have to look at her own cabinet anymore, pulling open Coinys before she changed her mind, peering inside with curiosity.

Ah, there it was! The imfamous CD she had been looking for. She swiped it up in her hand and blew on it, brushing it off with a few grafeful swipes, flicking her wrist. She then turned it around in her hand, noticing there were some words written on it with a girthy pen tip, the letters were thick. "Amniesa. " she repeated what she read. Jeez.. if this wasn't it, then she didn't know what was.

She took the CD and twirled her way over to where the tv set was, crouching to get down to the dvd player. Once she pressed the button, the plate slowly came out with a low humming sound. So it worked.. she put it inside, making sure it fit as it slot into the hole, before pressing the button. The CD began to spin on its way inside.

She looked back up to the tv, taking a few steps back and waiting patiently. She winced and covered her eyes as static beamed on the screen, lighting up the room even more in a moving, vibrating light. She tried to squint, using her arm to protect her pupils from what was basically a god damn flash bang. The static made noise, too.. she felt her chest become tight as someone spoke.

"T-Two.. I don't really know why you brought me here.." ..That was Coiny.. damn.. where had Two taken him exactly? She wanted to ask questions but she had nobody to ask. She was left to wonder them instead as the recording continued.

"Coiny, take a seat. I have some..things to talk to you about." Two responded to Coiny, their accent unmissable. She didn't like this because she already knew it was going to end bad.. but hearing the array of events before he was given amnesia really had her on edge. She was focused on the recording more than anything, creeping her arm from her eyes slowly.

"What?" She heard a chair screeching..Coiny must have sat down. "What? Is this about Four?" Where even was this? Where had this happened? She wish she knew.. maybe the recording would mention something. This couldn't have been in Twos office.. could it?

Liy went to listen to the next part of the CD.

"Well, look what we have here.."

Liy prevented yelling as she covered her mouth, spinning around immediately as the CD continued to play the audio. She felt her stomach drop at the sight of Barfbag, who held Liys knife in her hand, swinging it around like it belonged to her. A long smile was planted on her face, showing off her teeth.. it was the smile of someone who knew they were powerful..someone sick.

Shit! Liy must have left her knife in Donuts room!

"What are you doing, Liy?" Barfbag wondered with a playful but sadistic look.

Liy tried to open her mouth to speak, but she wasn't sure what words to say. Her chest was heavy, her trying to croak out something in the panic. "Uh, what the hell are YOU doing here?" Liy blurted with sass, glaring at her suspiciously.

Barfbag raised a brow.. she was not amused by this behaviour. Either way she chuckled, swinging the knife around teasingly, Liys focus directed on it. "Did you think I wouldn't see? I know you went into Donuts room.. I saw you go in there..  what do you think you're doing? You know what happens to people like you." She hummed optimistically, referring to Fries. "Traitors.. as you said." Barfbag began to slowly approach her.

"Leave me ALONE." Liy warned and backed up at the same pace, but knew damn well Barfbag had the upper hand. "What's the meaning of this?? Why do you care so much?" She hissed at her, her panic showing through her defensiveness.

"Well, duh, can't you tell?" Barfbag scoffed with irritation, before clutching the knife tightly, Liy backing up into a wall and clashing into it. "We just got rid of Fries.. do you think I want to deal with that again? No." A sadistic smile crept up her face again. Liy felt uneasy from seeing her true colours, unable to do anything as Barfbag just got closer and closer.

"I know why you're down here.. you're not sure if you're on the right side." Liy went to talk, but Barfbag cut her off fast. "Nono, don't try and make excuses. It's all on video.. what you've been doing. This place is prohibited..you know that. So why are you here?"

The CD continued to play. Barfbag grinned lowly at this, gazing at Liy as she was lit up by the moving light. "I see.. you wanted to know the truth about Coiny. I guessed that. If I were you.. I'd leave him alone." Barfbag suddenly grit her teeth, walking slower. "I've had to do so much work to keep him in line.. I'm not ready for YOU to ruin it. I didn't kill Pin for nothing." She snarled nastily, her voice chilling and leaking hate.

Liys breath hitched. "..Y-..You killed Pin?"

"Duh, you fucking moron." She spat viscously. "Well.. Liy.. this is kinda weird, huh? I mean, we offered you a place in our team and you refused. You said you wanted nothing to do with all this stuff.. " She laughed a little, but not because she was happy.. "But here you are! If you wanted Fries dead so much, why are you following his path?" She demanded an answer.

Liy glared.. she didn't want to explain. She didn't owe her an explanation behind her actions and mindset. Her silence irritated Barfbag.. "Nothing?" She found Liys confidence fun. She proceeded to pounce at the other object, who saw her coming at her and attempted to run away. Liy didn't get past her in time, yelling as she ran into the tv set while Barfbag yanked her backwards. It crashed onto the floor with a booming smashing sound, the audio cutting off as Barfbag then pushed Liy right back into the wall, forcing her own knife right up against her arm. It was just by her shoulder

Liy panted and stared into her eyes as the tv slumped and glass dropped from the screen and to the floor, her weary of Two waking up. She whimpered loudly and squirmed in Barfbags grasp as the knife cut into her skin slowly, blood trickling down her arm. "S-STOP!" Liy begged, trying to kick her away but that only made Barfbag cut harder, causing her to whine harder as the knife dug and dug.

Barfbag watched with sparkling eyes and a twitching smile as Liy pleaded for mercy, stopping momentarily but keeping the knife nice and safe half way in her arm."..Liy. If you don't join me and Loser, then I'll show Two footage of you coming down here.." she threatened lowly.

"What?!" Liy yelled, before closing her eyes and squealing as she moved the knife around, blood spilling out faster which caused her to shriek and squirm. What the fuck?! Was she being blackmailed?! She didn't know what to say, distracted by the pain. "Please- just stop! The fuck is wrong with you?!" She breathed, spluttering.

"Oh, shush." Barfbag spat, keeping the knife dug in. "You had your chance.. and now you don't have a choice. If you walk off right now.. I'll tell Two everything. And also, you'll lose an arm." Barfbag kindly smiled, as if this was just a minor add on.

Did Barfbag know why Liy has this sudden change of heart? Not a clue.. but it intrigued her. She wondered why she had changed so suddenly.. Liy felt sick.. she felt powerless, she had lost all her control. She couldn't do anything..what was she SUPPOSED to do? She couldn't ask for help from anyone with this... or tell Coiny. She..she couldn't do anything.

"I.." she squeezed her eyes shut as her arm burned with pain. "F-Fine!! Please just get off!-" she panted, hating herself for agreeing.

"Glad you agree." Barfbag sneered, knowing she didn't have another choice as she pulled away, flicking the blood off the sharp blade. Liy grabbed her bleeding arm, glaring at her as she panted heavily. Barfbag knew well enough Liy didn't prepare for this situation..she couldn't do anything anymore.. she had run out of cards to play.

"I advise you go upstairs.. I'll discuss this with Loser tomorrow. " Barfbag demanded, her voice tone low to show she was serious. She then pointed to the ladder, instructing her to leave.

Liy grit her teeth, panting from the pain in her arm.. she wanted to punch the shit out of her but she knew she had backup friends. She felt helpless.. the fuck was she supposed to do now?! She shoved Barfbag out the way as she made her way to the ladder, grasping her arm to slow the bleeding.

How DARE she do that to her..
