Chapter 32

Now that she was actually doing it, Sejal couldn't still believe her own self that she is really performing something stupid like this. It was still six in the morning and she was having one of her sleepless nights again due to tension and unwanted stress. Everything felt like haywire, so she decided to do the most striking possible thing; she never thought she would ever do this but like they say life is full of surprises.

At the moment Sejal was sitting in the couch of her hall and separating brown rice from the mixed quantity of white and brown rice in the Mickey mouse pot which was one of her favorites, it sounds stupid but age does give experience and how much of bitch Mahima had been but she at least gave a beautifully healing task much contrast to her nasty personality.

In the beginning of separation it feels like a hectic task which takes a toll on your mental level that something absurd can never be done then after a point it gets irritating to a level that it feels like a futile task just of wastage of time and energy. But when you see the bright side, it is commendable that she was learning how to be more patient and calm instead of pulling out her hair in stress desperation.

It was working as a calming mechanism, this thing was channeling the thoughts of her brain to think about the matters which were messed up and what was making her feel so weak and disturbed. Every problem has a solution is a popular saying but nobody teaches that, first it is necessary to do a check on what the problem is, so Sejal simply started making notes of her reasons in her cute little princess notebook which she has been maintaining to write the names of her patients whom she found handsome, beautiful and mostly the little pretty children sometimes visiting with their parents as she wasn't a pediatrics.

List of head breaking issues of my poorly beautiful life:

§ Aryan hasn't talked to me from the past three days

§ Darshan wasn't being himself because I almost saw him blushing yesterday

§ Katyusha was getting married

§ Katyusha found a new friend!

§ Raghav is the highest ranked in my wanted list

§ Property papers is to be taken care of

§ I need to meet Dad Today

§ Dig more into Aryan's life

Inscribing all the problems in her head Sejal sighed being happy with the task because she had separated half of the brown rice from the mix. It was seven now and now her head was more pleasant, life seemed to look more clearer as she saw the morning sun smiling at her, now only she wanted was a cup of caffeine and a leave for the day so that she could sort out everything.

When she scribbled about meeting her Dad today Sejal didn't think that it would be the first thing her brain will order to do today. So, here she was waiting at the reception desk of the twentieth floor of Block A of RCSM, and by now she had asked the chirpy receptionist three times about meeting Dr Shravan Bhattacharya and she simply refused to allow letting her in saying he was in an important meeting, obviously not knowing that she was talking to the daughter of the person who was paying her.

Sejal wouldn't describe her as some bitchy receptionist with fake tits like the characters in some novels because this lady was beautiful and doing her job very efficiently, but Sejal wasn't in the mood of waiting so she started walking towards a conference room with Shweta; the receptionist walking on her heel trying to stop her.

"Hey, why are you being such a bitch lady? Don't you know the minimum decorum of professionalism?" Shweta said like an arrogant lady now, maybe a bit happy that Sejal stopped in her tracks but she the smile was short lived because she had no idea that Sejal was in don't-fuck-with-me mood.

"Now that you are done teaching me professionalism, why don't walk slowly with those so clicking heels to the hub and collect your resignation from Mr. Arvind." Sejal said so coolly that Shweta almost said nice sarcasm but Sejal was lost wondering of how can girls wear these pointed heels and walk all the places moreover the tiles were quite slippery.

"Mention him that Sejal Seghal has ordered it." Sejal spoke in an authoritative voice now realising how much power could do, now Shweta felt threatened although she didn't knew about on what position Sejal was but with such a firm voice and the mention of Arvind; head of HR department was enough to make her quiver.

But what she didn't knew was Sejal has simply played a trick, any new entry would know the name of their HR as obviously they recruited her and just a sass to the statement could add such a powerful dynamic to it.

With no more intervention Sejal flipped her hair lightly and walked into the conference room where a man in suit was giving a presentation, her Dad was sitting on the centre chair with his PA; Piyush sitting beside and taking some notes, with two other men accompanying them on the round table.

Sejal contemplated for a moment to either go inside or retreat back but before she could decide anything the lights of the room was brightened as the presentation came to an end and her father was the first one to know her presence and for a moment shock registered his face then a little smile crept up and now all the other four men were staring at her including Piyush.

"Excuse me, who are you?"

It was Piyush who asked to which Sejal just smiled and thought of introducing herself as her normal doctor self and get away from here but it seems the Almighty had a different plan.

"She is my daughter Sejal Seghal and from now on she will be handling my business along with Dr Shetty, Mr. Sridhar." Shravan said with a very fond smile like a proud father whereas Sejal stood dumbstruck at the door because her sole purpose of visiting her Dad was to terminate the unwanted property he had gifted her but here her dear father had completely turned the tables around.

Mr. Sridhar watched Sejal in quite surprise and shock because he has been working for RCSM for about four years now and never has anybody mentioned of Shravan having any children, this was quite a astonishing unfold of events to meet a non existing being becoming their head all of sudden.

"Dad, I want to actually talk to you about something." Sejal asked trying to hint that it is personal and she needs the other people out of this room and somehow after all these years he suddenly seemed to be developing a telepathy connection with her which can also be termed as magic in this case, because in the next ten seconds the room was left empty with only the shallow breathing of both father and daughter.

"Nice surprise princess." Shravan said settling on the chair back making Sejal realize that he had stood up in the first place to introduce her; guess somebody was improving in their father duties.

"I won't prolong this meeting uselessly so coming straight to the point, I don't want anything to do from you so what do you say about terminating the will?" Her first statement almost made her gag because technically she was surviving on her money; the salary for serving RCSM.

"You are my daughter and I am proud of it, tomorrow I am going to arrange a press meet announcing your take over." Shravan said completely disregarding her option of terminating the will, like was deaf all the time to whatever Sejal was talking about.

"Freaking Christ! Dad do you even realize how absurd you are sounding? I am not ready for it in fact I just don't want all these, and how are you suddenly proud of your daughter whom you almost disowned if not for uncle I may have been picking up rags on some bloody streets!" As much Sejal didn't want shout and not bring the past her father was pushing the buttons, he surely wanted to meet the wild side of his daughter.

"Princess, my Sejal that was in the past."

"Past my foot Dad, do you even have any idea of how much I needed you? Out of everybody you knew how fucked up I was after Mum-my's death and all you did was distance away? Are you in peace now? Tell me something in the night when you sleep do you ever think that my daughter has eaten her dinner or not?"

Sejal has promised herself to forgive her Dad and after their first meeting she was quite sure that she was doing a brilliant job in keeping up with her words, but now it seems that all the things she wanted to shout at her father were living again, the time she had waited on every festival that he would come to meet, the time she got her medical seat, on the graduation day she wanted her father to see how grown up and mature she has become, she wanted him to show how much of a good surgeon she has become.

All she wanted to do was prove her father that she can be a better human like him, but now thinking about the irony she never would be a parent who would simply give away the custody of their child to some other person.

The reason she joined RCSM was to prove her father that his daughter can be a better person and much better than him, but not in her nightmares also she had expected him to give away everything of his to her; yeah except the house which had their memories as a family.

"Dad, if you want to play this game, then do it alone. I am not coming to any press conference and I am not taking up any responsibilities and I don't understand when Indian parents will stop slapping their decisions on their children."

"Back then I gave the custody to Bhairav to save you and now I am giving everything of mine for the payment of that decision."

Bhairav; her uncle who was having her custody till she was nineteen, she doesn't hate that man but doesn't love him also because he was a pain in the ass although he cared and loved her a lot after all Sejal was the daughter of his dead sister.

"Stop playing family politics with me Dad, and I know I was your investment you are proud because your money was worth and now you are giving me everything because you RCSM is your other investment for which you even left your family so you are protecting it by making me a scapegoat because you don't trust Dr Shetty. Huh. Like a businessman."

Sejal couldn't even understand what sort of words were rolling out of her tongue, she really wanted a recorded version of them because she had no idea what her brain was thinking and what the her nerves were receiving from the Central Nervous System, at the moment all she could understand is hating her father.

Shravan sat smiling sadly at his daughter and realising how much he had missed her growing because he had no idea of what she has become, one moment she was the weak daughter accusing him of her custody and the next second she is the ice queen with the strongest opinions of family history and business. The fact that her words had shut off her father Sejal knew there wouldn't be any press conference because Dr Shravan Bhattacharya couldn't tarnish his image in the business world.

Getting no further response from her father Sejal proudly walked away from the conference room cherishing her first success of her strong self, but the drama wasn't over yet as she saw Shweta giving her an upside down look; the one you give a gold digger, making Sejal realize that maybe she had called the HR Department and obviously there was no resignation letter.

Scratching her head with her little finger Sejal wanted to tell that receptionist that yes she was the latest conquest of DR Shravan Bhattacharya; in short a slut but that would make unnecessary headlines so she went with the simplest.

"Can I drink some water?" Sejal asked already taking the bottle from the desk even before Shweta could nod, then very slowly she opened the cap and splashed the water on the beautiful face of the receptionist which made her shriek loudly in utter annoyance.

"Next time, don't call somebody a bitch and this was to sanitize your eyes so that you could stop judging that every beautiful girl tagged along with my father is a fucking slut."

Shweta opened her mouth to say something but couldn't because she suddenly seemed to be caught up with the word father, as Sejal got into the lift watching Shweta stand red in complete humiliation. It is never a good thing to behave in such a way with somebody but that girl took it to an extreme level, and maybe a buried part of Sejal was suddenly awake because she was fed up being called names of being a slut.

Confidence radiating her whole body she walked to the door scribbling a cute little tick at the line about meeting her Dad today in her princess notebook. Setting Aryan as her new target she clicked open her Baleno and today the world seemed to look more beautiful with the trees looking more greener with much of oxygen and it felt like even the steering wheel was smiling at her today.

Maybe it's true that the eyes are the window to your world around and there is nothing bad around us unless our eyes fail to see the beauty of the things around us, now all Sejal wanted to do was without wasting anytime on sulking of how her life sucks she is going to make sure it turns out one of the best phase of her life.

After all life is just a puppet of how your brain thinks and process.

But now it seems that life definitely had surprises for her today, because Raghav was last on her list today but here she was getting an incoming call, even the ringtone matched the very personality of Raghav; the most warm and enthusiastic man who was always doing things in a hurry.

"Yeah Rags."

"It's an emergency, Sejal can you please come to the local police station?"
