Chapter 25

Jumma Mubarak❤️

Darshan was in the mid process of cooking Chicken,as promised in the message when Sejal reached over his place. Going with the classic Vanilla ice cream box she stuffed it in the fridge for dessert.

"I think you have questions to answer Dr Vyas."
Sejal said watching how cute Darshan was looking trying to match the procedure in the recipe register he was holding in his hand.

"Aahhh. That's why you agreed for this dinner,I must be so lucky."

"You are mistaking it now. I agreed because I wanted to."
Sejal said chuckling and pulling down the curtains to watch the city roaring with all the traffic.

When the first time she came here it became her best place for solitude, watching the city underneath you was something very soothing like getting a very different perception of life from another tangent.

"How do I get an appointment to meet Dad?"
Sejal asked sight seeing a car giving a sudden break for an old lady to cross the road while a traffic halted following him because of the interruption.

"Beautiful are you gone mad. Why would you need an appointment? If you ask him your life he would happily give it."

Darshan settled the stove at a low flame, sanitising his hands he came to sit beside Sejal in the balcony. With time both of them had developed this connection to chill out after a few days mostly at his place because Sejal didn't want Katyusha to be felt left out or something.

"I am giving you two options beautiful. Do you want me to talk about past or present?"

Why bring past in the present and make future the puppets of past?

Somehow those words rounded her fuzzy brain making Sejal realize Nikhil was just partly right, not completely.

"I didn't knew I had something in the present also to tackle, but if you are saying then let's go with present."

Sejal said knowing that past is history so why not break the mystery of the future with the help of present?

It was then Darshan started explaining about the media massacre which Aryan had solved patiently keeping his emotional and personal life on stake, that is the reason why he had avoided her and was spending more time with Viona and other media persona.

With every uttered word Sejal was turning blanch of how less she knew and understood about the man who knows her past and present like a printed stack loaded in his system.

The Aryan she knew was someone who was a bipolar and could be both hot and cold at the same time. He is the same person who would leave her die in the rain and turn her knight in shining armour on her birthday.

"What do you want me to do?"
Sejal asked Darshan as if he was some relationship counsellor.

"Understanding one person cannot change the whole world, but it might change the world for that one person."

Sejal rolled her eyes as Quotes Darshan was back and he couldn't even give an advice without quoting it.

"Something is burning ...oh shit Dr Vyas.."
Both Sejal and Darshan made a run to the stove to see angry steam rising from the semicircular pot indicating that it was a lost cause now,to which Darshan being the optimist doctor tried adding some water and in the process burnt his right thumb to which Sejal had to run for first aid.

"We could make a destructive pair."

Darshan said to which Sejal gave a hearty laugh joined by him later.

"I should have known this chicken would be a bad idea." Sejal said searching her phone for a takeout number.

"If nothing is available Maggi always sustains."
Darshan said with a smug opening the cabinet filled with Maggi packets.

Aryan stared at the Hazel stare in front of him which wouldn't agree to budge from it's place. This was turning out to be quite intriguing now, because it's been like forty five minutes or something since Sejal had arrived requesting to join for dinner which he had obviously refused even before she could complete the dinner in her sentence by saying he was busy, but she very politely insisted on waiting without any disturbances.

"Dr Shetty you shouldn't be doing overtime."
Sejal said tapping her watch impatiently which Aryan actually found so cute.

Aryan gave her a look which basically meant what happened to her I-wont-disturb statement, eventually making her shut up.Although she wasn't speaking her watch on his every move was making him quite self conscious.

"I am the CEO,it's a big responsibility. You should know it Sejal Madam."
He had purposefully added that Madam part be aise he was angry on her for using her new found rights which was not so reliable of him though.

"Gosh. Aryan please for God's sake stop with that nonsense."
Irritation was lacing her every word and Aryan found it quite amusing to watch her being so impatient but still acting as if everything was alright.

"Dr Shetty please can you wrap up now."

Aryan wanted to give in but he was scared,if this will be encouraged he can't have any control left over his over emotions.

To say he hadn't missed her,he hadn't craved to see her smile,to give a never ending hug to her,to touch those lips again and feel the love would be a lie.

Because he wanted all these,he wanted her to smile for him,to laugh for him,to dissolve in his smell,to keep her to himself,to make her shout at him,the end line was he wanted to share his life with her.

But,was he ready for a commitment?
Is it worth?
Will he be able to keep his Muñeca happy?

The sound of his laptop being shut bought Aryan out of his uncertainties,as Sejal pulled his hand with whatever power she had all those questions were in the drain.

~

They were at some little restaurant where Sejal knew the old lady manager,at first Aryan felt out of place being in such a small place loaded with many people and hardly they secured a separate side table. But after sometime a different feeling jolted his central nervous system,of how comfortable it seemed to be with families dining together laughing with the crappiest jokes ever heard or crying just watching a bug around.

An unknown smile known to him crept his face as Sejal carried their order and bought to the table. She had practically warned not to feel weird because this is going to make his night. Which had partially turned out to be right.

"This is the best place to get Aloo Paratha at this time."
Sejal said and bought her hands to his lips with a piece of paratha to feed him which he eventually did.

"Now get started."
Sejal said and started eating her own food with so much of enthusiasm that Aryan could just fill his stomach watching her.

"It's tasty."
Aryan couldn't stop himself from praising the food because it was really stomach touchingly delicious,to which Sejal smiled through eating.

"She used to be our cook."
Sejal said referring to the old lady manager with another smile.

"You know she used to tell that the way to someone's heart is through their stomach, isn't that cliché?"

Aryan just smiled not knowing the answer because now he felt like she was half correct with that small statement.

~

After dinner both of them had not spoken liking the silence although they had many things to clear and talk about. Aryan drove the car on the empty road which would lead to Sejal's apartment praying for the night not to end because he was feeling content. He felt like keep smiling,he just wanted to hold her hand and peacefully just listen to the lub-dub of her heart.

Like the God's were in his favour today it started raining a little covering the front shield with tiny droplets.

"Can you stop the car?"
Sejal need not to say it twice.

Aryan watched as Sejal got down and extended both her hands sidewise in the air letting the rain pour her with all the love they had in them. She twirled enjoying getting drenched with the water droplets touching her skin.

He couldn't fathom an answer to why was Sejal behaving so strangely nice today, but nonetheless he was loving this version of her. The carefree one where she was ordering and taking charge of things, igniting little hopes of undying happiness from his soul.

Aryan removed his Blazer and stepped out from the car when Sejal insisted him to come out signalling by her hands. The droplets showered like bullet hits making him cringe and wonder how Sejal was dancing in such a ruthless uproar of water.

Jumping in and out of the water puddles Sejal pulled him into a little run towards a street light and showed him how the Mercury vapour dazzled with the hit of water droplets,it was like watching the sun come and drop dead on the soil.

"I am sorry."
Sejal spoke after a few moments of watching sun dropping droplets from the street lamp.

"It's okay. But why are you sorry?"
Aryan asked staring at her, watching how beautiful she looked under the little light with water dripping from her hair which were definitely a mess now.

"How was your day?"
Sejal asked tucking her damp her behind the ear which were threatening to fall into her eyes again.

Aryan wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled Sejal closer which was a shocker to her because she almost lost her balance. Staring into her eyes he wanted to reply but watching her beautiful orbs were a better option now.

Her stare was intriguingly touching his soul as if she could watch him transparently, completely in and out of him. As if she could find the reason behind his smile and the still healing wounds of his pasts, his mistakes and struggles, his love and family.

Aryan watched amusingly as Sejal took a hesitant moment then craned a bold hand around his neck which send an electric shot through his spine making the moment more beautiful.

Scooting her more closer he traced her cheek bone and slowly her lower lip with his thumb to clean the rain drops staining the skin. This wouldn't be termed as an erotic action but definitely it was a turn on,as he felt Sejal stiffening her posture.

Sejal simply stared at him waiting for his next move, this was quite turning into a chess game except here the queen fell for the enemy's king.

She wanted to state that her sorry was about the assumption of Mahima, but first she needed to have a talk with history to clarify things then she will deliver a proper apology to Aryan.

"Hectic but beautiful."
Aryan replied leaning forward and now their foreheads we're touching.

Sejal's heartbeat went racing to God only knows how many beats per minute, but it was surprisingly a relief as how things have turned out quite easily romantic instead of awkward conversations. Maybe that's why intimacy plays a key role in keeping a spark alive.

Sejal closed her eyes as Aryan stared at her anticipating a kiss, she was quite in a relief that they didn't have any garlic or egg in their dinner as it could turn out to be a kiss spoiler.

She was surely craving to feel his lips touch her after their last encounter. After a moment when she couldn't feel any touch or tingling feeling Sejal opened her eyes just to find Aryan still staring at her,it looked like he had tears in his eyes or his eyes were glassy due to the rain or whatever. Not understanding what to do Sejal chooses the best situation defence solution to pull him into a hug.

Sejal decided to later question this fact to herself that why did she always find this man in either his vulnerable state or very angry state. Can't they be normal? Like when he is normal with others.

"I don't know how to do this but still .."
Sejal started speaking and trailed off due to Aryan suddenly hugging her more tightly, like after some time their tissues would have a dance together if he pulled anymore tighter.

"Darshan said.."

Aryan broke the hug as soon as Sejal bought up Darshan in the conversation and she could see his uneasiness all of sudden like he is attempting a mistake.

"What did he say?"
Aryan asked trying to keep a control of his emotions.

"That you are scared of communication."

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Aryan asked confused as Sejal let out an alive laugh.

"Okay. He said you are scared of commitment."
Sejal said in a very serious tone.

"Why would you guys discuss my commitment issues?"
Aryan asked being more baffled this time.

"Because I want to give us a try."
Sejal replied in a shaking voice not sure of how Aryan would react to it.

"What?"

"I want you and me to give a try to whatever we have between us."

"I understood that."
Aryan replied staring at the sky as now the heavy rain has stopped and tiny little baby droplets hit his face.

"Then why did you say what?"
Sejal asked furious with the situation because she never knew proposals would be that difficult.

"I might end up hurting you."
Aryan finally said.

"Failing even without trying would be a regret and that maybe more hurtful."
Sejal spoke realising maybe some philosopher had conquered her soul which made her speak such a thing.

"I don't want to commit."
Aryan spoke like a judge giving his final statement or verdict on a case.

Sejal couldn't help but stare at him for being so irrational to her efforts and trial to give them a chance.

I don't want to commit.

That was the only thing rounding her head right now.
