Chapter I

She needs a lot of assistance. She can't tell the stranger who passed the alleyway she was in what year it is, or even her name.
After Skye woke up in the alleyway, she looked around. Was there anyone watching? No, good; that'd be creepy. To her left was a dumpster which had "NYC TWC", and to her right was a pigeon. The pigeon, whom she named David, pecked at her hand to reveal a chunk of bread. The pigeon took it and flew away. She got up and looked at herself. Since when was she wearing pink? Pink looks terrible on her. She was embarrassed; her shirt was pink, her shorts were pink and even parts of her shoes were pink. Great, she thought.
She started walking toward the sidewalk when suddenly the pigeon came back. He tilted his head. "What do you want?" She asked. "Food? I don't have any." She walked around the bird and then tripped on a half-eaten burrito. "Stupid Mexican food! Leave me alone!" She yelled. A mother walking by turned to look at her, startled by the abrupt noise. Skye didn't know her name, but she knew a look of disgust and fear. As if watching a 14 year-old in an alley was just horrifying. "Keep walking!" She picked up the pace and pulled her toddler daughter closer to her. Skye was off to a great start.
The pigeon flew over, blowing a few straw wrappers. He blinked and looked tauntingly as if saying, Haha, look at you! You tripped! On food! Gimme that burrito, you liar.
Skye wasn't about to just aimlessly walk out into New York City, so feeding the annoying little pigeon pieces of mashed up burrito wasn't such a bad decision. The pigeon liked that. He made strange noises she didn't know pigeons could make. After the burrito was gone, she got up and said good-bye to the gray bird. "I'll see you around..." She brushed off her pants and the pigeon flew away. "Oh, okay."
She didn't want to stay next to the malodorous dumpster, so she sat down at an empty seat outside a café right around the alley. She cleaned out her pockets and found nothing except a crumpled-up post-it. "Skye, wherever you are right now, don't let yourself die. Good luck!" "What?"
"I said can I have some more of that burrito?"
"Excuse me?" She asked.
"I like black beans. They taste good." He said.
"Cool." Skye folded the post-it and returned it to her pocket, but only soon after did she felt a tap on her shoulder. This time, she turned around and saw the pigeon. Wow, that pigeon was starting to get annoying. "Oh, hi. It's you again."
"You'd rather speak to a pigeon than a human?"
Surprising, she thought. Skye turned back around. She didn't want to go crazy.
"It's fine, man. I didn't come here for that."
Oh my, did she think she was hallucinating. English-talking pigeons aren't quite considered 'natural'.
"I came here to talk about your memory." She raised her eyebrows.
"My memory? What kind of therapist pigeon are you?"
"Come with me, I don't assume you have much to lose right now."
"And why exactly would I do that?" As stunned as she was, she didn't want to be kidnapped by a gray bird. Now that would be embarrassing.
"Because I'm sure that you'd probably want to run away if you saw lunatics in black trench coats walking toward you right now." The bird leaned in a little closer. "I think you'd better follow me." And like that, he started flying away.
"Yep," she managed to get out. "You'd be correct."
——ENDED HERE——
The things in the black trench coats were obviously not human. They had purple eyes and wispy hair that was almost invisible. Their coat had a strange logo on it. Almost like an airplane or something, because it definitely wasn't something she'd ever seen before. They ran weirdly, almost like Olympian track and field runners, but more mechanical. They were really starting to creep Skye out. She looked behind her as she started running, the weird men catching up in speed. But they took a sharp left turn and she almost ran into a wall. Like a really, really big wall. He flew right through. He just ran into the World Trade Center. Then she turned around and the purple things were only about fifty feet away. Then she bolted. Yep, Skye ran into a gigantic wall with a bird-boy while being chased by maniacs in trench coats. So this is what my life has reduced to, She thought. Great.
Well, she didn't really slam into the wall, per se, but they would've if it hadn't been a magic wall. But luckily, magic had saved them. They stopped and sat down at a wooden bench on the right.
"So," he said in between gasps of air. "What do you think?" He looked at her.
"What do I think of what?" She responded back, feeling slightly confused.
"This place," he said. "Allegiance Towers." He smiled. "It's amazing here, let me show you around."

Cliffhanger because it's easier to write instead of actual endings. So I am going to update every week.
Hope you enjoy.
