Chapter 2.

Abigail sat up in bed and rubbed her temples. Her head began to pound as she looked around the room. Panic began to set in, but memories flashed through her mind, easing it a bit.

The room she was in was dark and barely had any visible light. The walls were grey and the floor was white, in the corner of the room sat a beautiful Victorian style arm chair with royal blue, velvet upholstery. Against the other wall, sat a black carved wardrobe and in the middle of the room was a classy style mahogany coffee table.

Abigail pushed the blankets off of her and looked down at her legs. On her left foot was a black cast and on her right foot, her ankle was wrapped tightly with a white bandage.

"What is going on, where on earth am I?" She asked herself quietly.

"How are you feeling?" A sudden deep voice asked.

Abigail looked over her shoulder and saw the man in red from her school. She almost jumped out of her skin, not seeing him there before.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"My name is Alucard." He said. "And yours is?"

"You can call me Abigail, sir." Abigail said respectfully. "If I may ask," she began.

Alucard motioned for her to continue.

"Where exactly am I, and how did I get here?" She asked.

"You are at the Hellsing Organization headquarters, Alucard brought you here." A woman said, suddenly appearing in the room.

"Why did he bring me here?" Abigail asked curiously.

The woman sat down in a Victorian style chair and crossed her legs. "Your school was over run by a vicious vampire and his army of undead ghouls. You are here because you were saved." She explained.

"Oh," Abigail said as she looked at her lap. "I see. Thank you, I am greatful."

"You are welcome." Alucard said with a wide, toothy grin.

"While you are here, you will be working under the guidance of Alucard and Seras. They will teach you everything you need to know about dealing with the freaks we destroy." The woman said.

"Freaks?" Abigail asked, raising a brow.

"The Hellsing organization is a secret elite group that deals with and destroys vampires, ghouls, demons, and any other supernatural entities that wish to cause harm on her Majesty and all of Europe. We are here to protect it's people from the ones that plague this country." She explained. "My name is Integra Hellsing, I am the operator of the organization."

"So I'll be working here?" Abigail asked.

Integra nodded her head.

"And I'll be fighting monsters?"

Integra nodded her head once more.

"Sir, if I may ask, how exactly am I supposed to fight monsters if I'm just a fragile human being?" Abigail asked.

Integra smirked as she pulled a cigar out from her coat. "That is for you to decide Abigail."

Abigail raised a confused brow. Her eyes suddenly widened as she realized what Integra meant.

"Oh, well I." She stuttered, not really knowing what to say. "If that's the only way, then I guess I could think about it Sir."

Integra nodded her head and stood up. "Well, you three get acquainted, I have paperwork to catch up on."

She began to leave the room, but turned back and faced Abigail. "And it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance miss Victoria, I do hope you enjoy your stay here." And with that, she left.

Abigail sat back in the bed and placed a hand on her forehead.

"Are you alright?" Seras asked.

Abigail nodded her head. "This is so much to take in. How does one just abandon their humanity?"

Seras chuckled as she sat on the bed beside her. "It's easier than you think Abigail. When you know there's a reason behind it, a reason that could save lives, it's easy."

Alucard nodded his head in agreement. "I agree, but there's a long road ahead of you. It may be easy to turn, but some things you have to do will prove to be difficult. If you think you are up for the task, than I believe in you."

Abigail nodded her head understandingly. "Who would turn me?" She asked.

A grin grew across Alucard's face. "Why me of course, I am the one who saved you after all. I believe I should be the one to do it, considering she refuses to drink blood." He motioned towards Seras.

Seras lowered her head. "It's not that I refuse to, it's just, I feel like if I drink, it would be the end of something I care about." She said.

Alucard rolled his eyes. "Whatever, police girl. You'll drink, in time, you'll drink."

Seras nodded her head. "So, do you think you're up for it Abigail?" She said turning towards the girl.

Abigail slowly nodded her head and looked between the two of them.

"Yes, I believe so." She said.

The grin on Alucard's face grew wider, as if that were possible.

"Excellent." He said.
