Part 105

Austin is a lot different than Henry remembered. The last time he was here, he was not himself, trapped between his trauma and his own body healing from being trapped in that bunker. He was just being rescued by Alex and Cash and they decided it would be good for him to heal in the lake house. That's how he remembers finding clue to June's whereabouts.

Henry felt exhausted by the time the car pulled up to the house. The sun is almost setting by the time they arrived and the Austin sky is golden ember behind those clouds. The lights spread through the fields making it looks like it covers in golds.

Out on the outfield, across the fence of Alex's family home, wild horses eating on grass, wild and carefree. The trees surrounding the entire land brushes along with the wind, a tall willow tree at the far end of the ranch moves so gently along as the wind blows.

The house is bigger than he remembers. But the last time he stood here, his mind isn't fully awake as he was right now. The house is powered by solar, something Alex had installed years ago. As soon as the sun had set, the lights began to turn, lighting the entire house brighter, small twinkling lights lit up the pergolas that filled with vines.

Henry saw couple of Alex's staffs stood outside the house, standing tall, welcoming Alex home like they always did, except someone is missing. That usual southern style gentleman, standing firmly by the door, holding on to his cane with that frowned on his face. But the second he would see Alex climbing out of the car, the frowned would disappear and replaced with the most widest smile he had ever seen.

"Where's Sammy?" Henry asks, as soon as the car pulls up the front entrance and noticed Alex was silence. He stares forward into the front seat, lips pressed into a thin line. "Uhm- shit. I forgot to tell you." He muttered under his breath.

He turned to face Henry on his side, his hair is messed from his sleep, his face looks tired with eyebrows raised waiting for Alex. "What?" He asks, voice low.

"Sammy, he uhm- he d-died like, couple of years ago." He told him, eyes staring deeply into him before Henry pulls away from Alex's grip. "A stroke. Fell in the bedroom middle of the night, no one knew until it was too late." Henry felt his whole world is silenced around him, Alex's voice seems muffled next to him.

"Why on earth would you come back here Alex? It's killing you, isn't it?" He asks, eyes searching for his but Alex pulled away. David that was resting on his lap now perched up, sensing the emotions changes in the car.

"Its fine Henry. I'm fine." He says pushing the door opened and closed after. Henry was left alone in the car because both George and Joanna is in the other car. They were parked behind them and Henry could hear them talking outside. Henry looked down over the beagle on his lap. David raised his head, looking up at Henry while he rubs behind his ear, "I know. A stubborn ass that one." He whispered.

His door finally opened and Alex offered his palm for him to exit. Henry stares at his tired gaze, curls still perfectly neat on his head with his coat long forgotten from the change of air here. Its a lot warmer here than Portland and Henry for once are glad. David jumped first, sniffing the new ground and curiosity gets into him. But George quick to grab his leash to prevent him from wandering off the unfamiliar place.

"Alex." He called, but Alex dismissed his worried look and offered his palm higher for Henry to get out. Henry sighed, shaking his head before he let Alex carries him out of his seat.

"Mr Claremont-Diaz, Mr Fox-Diaz, finally, welcome home you too." One of the lady in the house greeted them, watching how Henry hopped with a broken ankle and one arm rest over Alex's shoulder.

"Thanks Anne. Get me the crutches please." Alex instructed but before she could, George already stood by his side handing him the crutches for Henry.

"Do I need to start calling you Mr Diaz as well?" George says sarcastically next to him. Henry laughs, grabbing the crutches under his armpit. "Don't be ridiculous Mr Harrington. This isn't lifetime show." Henry snide, stepping up the steps with Alex hovering next to him. His palm firmed on his lower back ensuring he won't fall behind.

"Listen to him. Or I'll make you work at the ranch." Alex commented with Joanna laughing behind them. "Don't tempt him. It has been his life long dream to work at the ranch." She adds, noticed George's disappointed look on his face.

"I'll show you around the land tomorrow but for the meantime, they prepared us dinner in the dining hall. Your bedroom is upstairs, Anne will take you. Freshen up, we'll see at dinner." Alex's voice commanded them and realized how his demeanor changes. The moment he stepped foot, he showed them who's the master in this house, unknowingly.

"Right on Mr Claremont-Diaz." George teased, letting the lady in black and white dress led them towards the upstairs bedroom. Alex shakes his head at smiling Joanna before guided Henry towards their downstairs bedroom.

"We're not staying in your room?" Henry asks surprised by Alex gesturing him towards the guest bedroom downstairs.

"If you can climb, you can sleep in that room. For now, the room is for George and Joanna. We are staying here." Alex says as he opened the door of a large guest bedroom right at the end of the hallway just behind the large staircase.

The door opened, revealing a large bedroom with a king size bed in the middle, a cream colored sheets with a dark green throw over the end of the bed. A large bed size chest resting at the foot of the bed, dark reddish brown wood that used as both a case and a seat. The bed consist of tall bed frame reaching towards the ceiling, a loose thin see through curtain draped from above the bed crowned and falls into a canopy shield as a mosquito net.

Next to the bed, a large frame window with black wooden style frame with dark view outside but a small light shined over the terrace balcony right outside the window.

Across from the bed, a large darker shade of brown wooden frame cabinet with a wide mirror hung over the walls above it. A rose patterned wing chair at the corner with a small ottoman in between the chair and a small table by the feet. A small bookcase on the side of the wall next to the chair that has few books Henry familiar with the titles.

"Nice room." Henry says as he hopped into the bedroom. His crutches taps on the wooden floor and Henry immediately stopped over the large chest to sit himself down.

"Thought you'd be comfortable here." He says setting his bag down on the bed before he disappeared into the bathroom attached inside the room.

Henry listened to the door closed and the water running opened before its closed again and Alex popped out from the bathroom with a towel in his hand. "Alright mister, now your turn." He says tossing the towel into the woven basket on the corner.

"I can do it myself." He says pushing himself off the wooden chest with the crutches under his arm when his back hits him with a sharp pain. "Arghh." Henry grunted, slowly leaning forward from the pain and Alex is ready at his side.

"The damn sling is making my back sore." Henry says before tossing the sling over the bed and final stretched made his back cracked.

"I need to change my dressing and my clothes. I smell of vomit. Do you mind getting the bags love?" Henry asks politely, hopping his one leg with the crutches towards the bedroom while Alex remained frozen behind him. Henry stopped and turned, sensing something is wrong when he caught Alex staring in spaces. He hopped back closer to him when he noticed the sorrow look on his face.

"Alex? You alright?" He asks, cupping his cheek softly grazing his thumb over his stubbed jaw. Alex smiled, turning his gaze to face Henry next to him.

"It's just- it's so good to have you home again. Calling me love. All sweet on me." Alex wrapped his arms around Henry's waist, softly swaying their hips together, lips inching towards another. Henry smiled, trying to pull away from Alex smelling his own vomit, feeling disgusted by his own scent.

"Alex I'm filthy. Let me changed." Henry pushed him with his hip, his crutches banged over Alex's shin playfully before Alex wrapped his arms tighter around Henry's waist.

"Nope. Not letting you go again." He says, tightening his grip over Henry's waist with his both arms. "Just~ the bathroom you menace." He says, pushing his elbow against Alex's chest to release him from Alex's grip. Alex laughed as Henry closed the door and proceed to grab his hospital bags for his dressing changed.

Thank God for Hannah, she had given a month of supplies for Henry's dressing changed that consist of gauzes, bandages, saline and tape dressing to replace.

Henry walked out of the bathroom, one crutched under his armpit, hopping his way back to the bed with Alex already waiting for him. "Come on." He waved him over, setting the dressing over the side for Henry to sit.

Henry set the crutch over the side before hopping his way over the bed. He pulled his shirt over his head, groaning when its barely out and caught himself halfway stuck from undressing himself. "Christ!" He muttered but Alex was ready to help him anyway.

"I got ya." He says, pulling the shirt over Henry's head, leaving him exposed and later Henry sat with his back facing Alex. Henry was right, his wound needs to changed as Alex can see his dressing stained with old blood stained.

"George teach me how to change your dressing by the way." Alex says softly, putting his gloves on for Henry. "Really? I'm impressed." Henry stated.

After few groans and grunt later, Alex managed to change Henry's dressing successfully without any complications. It was simple enough but for someone who'd never had to care for others in their life, this is a breakthrough.

"Let's go, dinner." Alex tapped Henry's thigh before lifting himself off the bed. Henry groaned weakly, shifting in his seat to face Alex standing before him. "Can I skip? I'm too tired." Henry slurs, eyelids halfway opened with a yawn escaping his throat.

"Nope! You barely ate lunch, you are definitely not skipping dinner! I will carried you if I had too but please don't make me, I'm soo tired." Henry bursted out laughing at his last request with his eyes pleading him. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm not having you carry me around like a child."

"You'd be surprised how much Ellie loves being carried around." Alex helped pulling Henry closer to the edge of the bed before he handed him a new shirt to put on. Henry winced as he pushed his arms into the sleeves when the wound tugged on his back. Alex watched him carefully, noticed how he didn't respond when he mentioned Ellie earlier.

"You okay?" He asks as Henry grabbed the crutch under his arm. "Yeah. I thought you're starving. Come on." Henry stepped first only for Alex to push him back and faced him.

"We promised Henry. No more lies. You tell me if something goes wrong inside that pretty head of yours." He taps Henry temple that made him smile sheepishly. "I know, I'm sorry." He muttered, lowering his gaze over the grey shirt Alex had on. He changed when he was in the bathroom earlier. "So what's wrong?" He asks him, lifting Henry's chin to face him.

"Ellie." Henry voice murmured.

"She's gonna be so happy to see you Hen, you have nothing to worry about." Alex reassured, his voice soft but something in Henry's eyes made him curious.

"It's not that." Henry voice breaks.

"I'm not ready to see them. Her or Shaan and Zahra." He couldn't face Alex or even look him in the eyes knowing how disappointed he look right now. But he had to face Alex's disappointment at some point knowing he promised each other never to run or hide anymore.

"Hen, they are going to come and see you soon. You can't hide away forever. They are part of our family." Alex tried to reason catching Henry pulled away from his grip.

"Not like this Alex. Not in this." Henry emphasize on the crutch, but Alex knew for a fact it was mostly his injured face that Henry felt insecure about.

"I don't want Ellie first time seeing me looking like this. Bruised and beaten. It'll scar her." Henry finally looked up, his eyes reddened as he stares into Alex's eyes with that hurtful look. Alex took a long breath, inhaling deeply into his chest before he exhaled. Henry watched as he contemplates in his mind before he nods softly at him. "Alright."

Henry was surprised by his reply but something inside him loosen like a knot that was finally released. "I will tell Shaan not to come just yet. Not until you are ready at least." His voice soft, raising his hand over Henry's cheek. His thumb brushes over the cuts on Henry's lips that still hurts when he touches it. The bruised on his cheek and jaw turned shades darker now than it does few days ago. It still pains Alex every single time he saw it on Henry's face.

"Thank you." Henry whispered, leaning his cheek into his palm, softly embracing Alex's warmth.  Alex smiled every single time Henry leaned on him, showing how vulnerable he can be at times and Alex is ready to protect him at all cost. He pulled himself closer, wrapping his arms around Henry's body, softly leaning his chin over Henry's shoulder.

"I'm just glad you're home with me right now." Alex whispered, softly pushing himself to face Henry again. "So if my baby needs space, I will give him anything he wants. Even if I have to sleep in the other room." Henry scoffed, pushing Alex by his chest back that ended with cackled.

"Stop being so dramatic! Go on, thought you hungry!" Henry taps Alex on his perfect behind with the end tip of his crutch that made him laughs hysterically.

.

After dinner they all retired back to their room, including Joanna and George. They were all exhausted by the travel and the one thing they needed right now is rest. Alex didn't even questioned them and went straight into his bedroom with Henry following suit.

They both changed after dinner, Alex had a pair of shorts on for bed with no shirts that Henry swore he did it only to tease him endlessly. He smirked when he caught Henry gazing upon his sculpted abs and chest.

"They are all yours babe." He teased, turning off the lights leaving only the bedside on after he helped Henry into bed. He had tower of pillows for Henry's ankle to rest and more for Henry's back, practically sitting him up for sleep.

"Don't flatter yourself." Henry says flatly, removing the pillows away from behind him. Alex jumped into bed next to him, grinning ear to ear before he realizes what Henry was doing.

"Hen, you need this." He asks, confused.

"I can't sleep with these much pillow Alex." He tossed another one over Alex's face and heard him giggled from underneath the pillow.

Alex pushed the pillow from his face and let it fell on the floor next to his bed. He heard Henry sighed next to him, staring in spaces in silence. "What's on your mind?" He asks.

"Do you think they're gonna like it here?" Henry asks and Alex knew immediately he was talking about the couple living upstairs of their bedroom right now. Alex hummed, letting the silence filled the thick air around them.

"You said George like working on a farm right? I'm sure I can entertained him enough." Henry hummed, carefully shifting towards his side to face Alex. Their eyes met with a smile on their lips before Alex pulled him closer towards his chest. Henry wrapped his arm around Alex's chest, pillow buried between his legs. Alex's ring on his finger glistened in the dark, resting safely over Henry's palm.

"He loved it. Not just that, he had a dream to live on a ranch one day." Henry smiles faded, staring in spaces. "What happened then?" Alex asks.

"Their son, Colin got sick, all their entire savings went dry. There goes his hope in buying one." Henry remembers well the time he went with George to help a mare on a ranch. How he loves working with animals and how it helped him in his own therapy. Both of them to be exact.

"It doesn't matter how much money they saved, they always had bad luck runs in their family. The truck needs fixing, the roof leaks, they need to pay their staffs in time, with the bills and when I came into their life, it's just another mouth to feed. But they never once made me feel like I owed it to them." Henry's voice lowered, feeling thankful for them.

"Because you gave them the light they needed Hen." Henry looked up, meeting Alex's gaze in the half dark room. "George told me that himself. You were the light that shine in their life that made them realized how long they had been living in the dark. You were never another mouth to feed in that home. You are their home." Alex told him, noticed how Henry's eyes brightened in the dark.

Henry leaned, pressing his lips carefully over Alex's cheek before resting his head back on the pillow. His mind wanders about tomorrow, about what he wants to do, about how George would react when he sees the ranch. He imagined what Joanna would bake in Alex's kitchen provided Alex would allow her to lift a finger or do anything in the house.

"I wonder if he would love working the ranch. George loves animals and David would love the open field." Henry smiles, remembered David is settling upstairs with George cause he can't physically attend to David in case he needs to relieve himself middle of the night.

"I heard beagle is a good scent hound. We can trained David to hunt rabbits." Henry continues but Alex didn't react to him. "You'd think hun?" He asks, tapping his fingers over their clasped hand by Alex's chest but he didn't react. He looked up and realized Alex had finally dozed off, snoring next to him with his mouth parted.

Henry pressed his lips from bursting into laughter so he won't wake Alex up. He leaned, pressing his lips over Alex's cheek. He stirred shifting to his side, wrapping his arms over Henry's waist with his face snuggled deeper into Henry's neck. Their warm breaths inhaling and exhaling in sync and Henry couldn't help listening to Alex's breathing the whole night next to him.

.

Alex jolted the next morning, panicked surged inside him when he saw his left side empty, untouched like Henry was never there. He pressed his palm over the side, cold, pillows stacked neatly on his side and Henry is no where in the room.

He jumped, checking the bathroom but it appears empty but then he heard chatters of voices coming from the end of the hallway and recognized it was George's voice. Stern and commanding. He wasn't imagining it. Henry is home with him, he brought him home and along these other people.

He exhaled his breath, running his fingers through his messy curls, catching his reflection in the large mirror next to him. "Breathe Alex. He's home." Alex reassured himself, planting his palm against his chest to steady his heart beating loudly in his ear.

He splashed a cold water on his face, sending shocks that wake him from his drowsiness from his sleep. He later went to relieve himself, brushed his teeth, trying to tame his curls but failed and he gave up trying to find a comb that still inside his luggage. He decides to get out of the bathroom and joined the rest of them in the dining hall.

Alex waltzed in, after putting his plain black shirt on with his short and barefooted into the dining room. He found George sitting by the head of the table, next to him Joanna smiling, eating their breakfast.

"Morning sleepyhead." George yelled from the table when he saw Alex dragged himself towards them half awake.

"Ughh, how long did I slept?" He sighs, plopping himself over the seat next to George right across Joanna. "Long enough. Good that you have rested." George replied.

He looked around the table, noticed the meal isn't like what his kitchen staff used to prepare. Anne walked in, setting Alex's coffee like usual before he needed to ask with that usual smile on her face.

"Anne did we hired a new cook?" Alex asks, sipping into his hot steaming coffee.

"No sir, it was Mr Harrington. He insisted to make breakfast." Anne says, topping the coffee into both George and Joanna's cup.

"George you are a guest in this home. You don't have to cook for anyone." Alex told him as he pull pancakes into his plate with the syrup next. He didn't wait for him to reply before stuffing the pancake into his mouth and then another.

"For the looks of it, I'm glad I cooked. You looked like you haven't eaten in days." George smiled behind his cup before glancing over at Joanna next to him. She laughs, staring at Alex with a mouthful of pancakes.

"Slow down honey, you're gonna choke." She warned him and just in time, Alex stopped, looking around the dining room when he realized there is one person still missing.

"Where's Henry?" He asks, setting the knife and fork down next to the plate. George smiled, pointing at the door behind him, widely opened with Henry out in the field and David jumping around him. Alex felt his body froze like it forgot to breathe the second he saw him.

Henry was sitting in the field, his hair brushed against the wind wildly in different ways. The color reflected the sun shining above his head like hair made out of gold. His smile widened despite half of his face bruised when David jumped over his lap and continues to jump around him again, chasing whatever thing Henry threw him and each time, he would returned it back to him.

"I never see him like this before." Alex whispered, his vision blurred with tears he didn't even realized was coming.

"Don't be fooled by that." George says pulling Alex's gaze back into the room while George still staring at Henry with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"He hasn't slept. He was in the living room when I woke up. God knows if he slept at all." George sighed into his cup before taking a sip. "Did he had breakfast?" He asks and Joanna pulled a bowl of oatmeal that barely scooped and placed it between Alex and her.

"Christ Henry." Alex muttered, rubbing the side of his temple with his elbow rested over the table.

"Hun, do you think we should uhm- you know- " Joanna suddenly asks George in a very unsubtle way. Her voice low, thinking only George would heard her but Alex heard her loud enough. "What? Do what?" He asks.

"NO!" George voice boomed across the dining hall, echoing throughout the high ceilings.

"Why not?" Joanna asks.

"What? Do what?" Alex asks, concerned of their hidden plans.

"Jo, NO! The last time we did, we left him at home and he got hurt!" George told her and Alex could see Joanna rolled her eyes at him.

"What? What did you do?" Alex started to get anxious and sitting at the edge of his seat.

"Before what Hayden did to him, Henry hasn't slept for days." George starts, sighing into his palm brushing against his lips. "Yeah, you told me that." Alex stated.

"We uh- we got worried. He was running around like a zombie. Barely even engage in any conversation." He continued.

"I know the feeling. I've seen it before." Alex replied, eyes shifting between George and Joanna.

"So we uh- we crushed sleeping medicine into his tea."

"You did what?!!" Alex yelled, leaning towards the table a little.

"We had too Alex. He is practically a walking hazard! He could hurt himself. We did what we had to do and it worked!" Joanna retracts into her seat, her eyes lowered over her empty plates in front of her. Alex was silenced, staring into the spaces before him.

"That's actually- not a bad idea." Alex muttered that brought their attention.

"No. It's the worst idea. Henry won't trust us if he knew. You can NOT say anything!" George pointed at him, warning him with his tone cold, eyes sharp towards Alex.

"I'm not an idiot George." Alex glared from his seat.

"You have proven otherwise." George snapped back at Alex.

Alex returned to his plate, stuffing more pancakes into his mouth and within few minutes, he finished the whole plate clean. He noticed the smile on Joanna's face, grinning at his appetite that made him self assured.

"My Colin used to eat like that. Breakfast is our best part of the day." She says quietly, her gaze glanced over at George next to her. "Until he couldn't." George replied lowly.

"I know how much you both missing him but I am here to tell you that I am more than happy to have home cook meals or letting you used this opportunity to use us like the son you had lost." Alex told her with a smile on his face and she nodded before shifting her gaze towards George next to her.

"I wish for a less annoying sons." George states glaring back at Alex still snickering a smile. "You get what you get. No backsies!" Alex corrected, taking his last sip of his coffee. "Are you both ready for the tour?" He suddenly stood, grabbing a piece of grape from the fruit bowl and popped it into his mouth.

"Yeah, just let us changed." George says, piling the plates into one stack when Alex stopped him. "Nope! Leave it. I have people for that, go on and get changed." Alex rushed out of the dining room headed back to his bedroom, changing into a different pants. He had his jeans on before putting on his boot that he kept inside the house coatroom. He went into one of the closet and grabbed his Stetson hat hung on the wall.

He dust off the edges, lining his thumb against the ridge with a smile curved on his lips. "Hey pops." He whispered, pinching the curved before putting it over his head. It fits perfectly, just as he remembers.

He closed the door when he heard them climbing down the steps and saw him in his hat and ready for the day. "Oh, I want a hat!" George pointed and Alex could see Joanna smiles behind him. No matter how old you get, there will always be that point where your childhood dream made you realized that you are still holding on to that child in you.

"We'll get you all one when we go into town later. Let's just see around the property first. Lemme go get Henry and David." Alex says grabbing couple of gloves from the box and headed towards the opened door at the dining hall.

Alex stepped out, his boots crunch the pebbles under his footsteps that caught Henry's attention. He turned around behind him, smiling at Alex stepping towards the field in his cowboy hat. David lunges at him, jumping happily with his tail wagged uncontrollably.

"Hi David. You're having fun?" He crouched, rubbed his fingers behind David's ear before he stood again. He walked further towards Henry sitting on that ground, legs stretched with his elbows straightened. "Morning darling." Henry greeted as Alex plopped next to him on the ground facing him.

Alex leaned, pressing his lips over Henry's in one breath. "Morning baby." He greeted back, brushing Henry's hair loose over his forehead.

"George told me you didn't sleep. Are you okay?" He asks, letting his hat shielded Henry's face from the sun. He took a sharp breath before exhaling, his gaze lowered over their ringed hands clasped into each other. "Ughh." Henry grunted, hiding his gaze away.

"Baby." Alex starts but Henry cuts him off.

"I'm fine Alex." Henry assured him with a smile before looking up at his hat covering their faces. "What's with the hat, cowboy?" He asks, flicking the hat back that made Alex smiled his dimple smiles at him.

"You know what they said, save a horse, ride a cowboy." Henry burst out laughing at his comment, smacking Alex over his chest.

"You are insufferable." Henry elbowed him as Alex leaned in for a kiss but Alex grabbed him by his neck eventually, pressing his lips into another kiss. "And you are mine." Alex whispered, pressing his lips deeper, but careful over Henry's cut on his lower lips.

"Boys! Are you going to kiss all day or are we going on a tour?!" George yelled from the door that made Henry pulls away, chuckling in laughter. Alex on the other hand groaned gutturally by his interruption.

"In a minute!" He yelled, fixing his hat back in place with an eye rolled. Henry still chuckling next to him, staring at his annoyed expression.

"I'm gonna take them for a tour around the property, join us?" He asks and Henry contemplates at first. "Uh- I don't think my crutches would survived in the mud." Henry pointed at the crutch laying next to him.

"I'll carry you." Alex offered but Henry clicked his tongue back at him. "Don't be ridiculous Alex. I'm fine right here." Henry pushed Alex's chest with his palm before basking himself under the sun again. Alex stares, enjoying each moment he had of him, the good moments that would made them going through the dark days easily.

"Nope, I'm taking you with. Come on!" Alex stood abruptly, pulling Henry by his hand from the ground. Henry almost screamed from the pain shooting on his back and his thighs as Alex pulled him up and immediately apologized for the act. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" He asks, inspecting Henry's back in case he blew another suture but thankfully its clean as a whistle. "I'm alright." Henry huffed in his breath.

Henry hopped on his one feet before Alex offered his crutches. "Come on Davey! Let's go exploring!" He whistled over at David playing by the bushes and he immediately run back towards them.

"Alex, I don't want to slow you guys down. It's alright. I am perfectly fine staying by the house." Henry states as they walked together into the house where George is waiting for him by the door.

"Who says anything about slowing down. It's not like we're going running." He says, hand placed securely over Henry's back preventing him from falling. George was ready by the door to help Henry over the steps but he didn't want Henry to thinks he hovers too much around him.

"Jeez, you guys didn't trust me alone isn't it?!" Henry says, stepping into the dining room room before he grabbed a grape from the fruit bowl. The rest of the meal has being cleared away by the maids except for the fruits and Henry popped one into his mouth.

"Henry, you know we don't." Alex admits with a coy smile that made Henry glared back at him. He knocked his back with the crutch in his arm that made Alex yelped. "Alright, this is the third time you used this as a weapon against me! I'm going to confiscate this until you learnt your lesson." Alex grabbed the crutches from his arm leaving Henry clueless and helpless hanging on to the chair.

"Wait, Alex what the hell are you doing?" George asks when he left Henry hovers over the dining chair alone.

"Relax. I'm not gonna let him walk around on one foot." Alex says handing the crutches over to the maids. "What's your plan then genius?" Henry asks, holding on to the chair.

"This." He grabbed Henry over his shoulder like he weighs nothing and it made him yelped. "Alex what the hell are you doing?! Put me down!" Henry yelled but Alex seems to ignore him with Joanna and George following behind them.

"George stop him please!" Henry pleaded, pushing Alex from his tight grip but failed. Alex had the nerve to chuckle at his attempt and he could see Joanna is trying her best to hide her smile. But the only hope he has right now is George and he didn't seem amused by Alex's action.

"Alex put him down, you're gonna drop him and hurt him more." He told Alex and Alex turned, eyebrows furrowed. "No I'm not! Now come on." He says, nudging his head towards the hallway with Henry squirming on his shoulder. David barked earlier, thinking Henry was hurt but George had his leash tighter in his hand so Alex won't trip because of him.

"You seeing this?" George asks Joanna and she laughs next to him.

"Leave the love birds alone darling." Joanna told him, her hand secured around George's elbow as they walked along behind them.

"Ughh! I hate it when you manhandle me like this! Put me down this instant!" Henry commanded, his voice roared from the entire hallway. "Come on honey. I never get to carry you across the threshold after we got hitched!" Alex joked, cackling in laughter.

"We eloped! Where the hell are you taking me?" Henry asks, sensing the path isn't familiar. "You'll see." Alex says, grinning. Henry gave up trying to squirm his way out and ended up hurting himself entirely.

"Let me get a picture of you two." Joanna says pulling out her phone from her pocket and Alex immediately turned sideways with his fingers raised into peace signed. Henry was not amused, didn't even utter a smile as Alex carried him out.

"You guys are so adorable." She muttered and Henry could see George shaking his head in disbelief. Something about this made him annoyed at Alex even more knowing he had no choice because he's at Alex's home instead of his.

Henry heard the door creaked opened and Joanna gasped. "What?" Henry asks and just in time, Alex sets him down on the ground, but his arms still secured around Henry's waist and as he turned, his own mind blew by the view.

The large wooden door of the house spread opened, Henry assumed an entry point from the back towards directly to the backyard. The view of the lake spread across the land, the path is not the gravel covered ground like the front but rather an open field with narrow path towards the stables over the right side of the house.

Across the path, the lake spread further, water still and calm, glistening under the sunlight. By the dock, a small boat secured on the side, tight to a rope.

"Woah." Both George and Joanna says simultaneously with Alex still grinning next to him. In front of them, two quad bikes parked next to each other, one black and the other red in color. "Can you drive this?" Alex asks George and he glared at him.

"Boy, I ride this when you're still in diapers." He snide, but Alex could see how eager he got when he handed him the keys. "Can I drive?" Henry asks, equally excited as they are but Alex snorted back at him.

"You wish matey!" Alex says, letting Henry hopped towards the bike.

"I am not a pirate!" Henry yelled, pinching Alex's side that made him yelped. He helped Henry climbed on the bike back seat before he sat before him. He raised Henry's cast ankle over his thigh with his arms wrapped around his chest. He leaned back against Henry's chest, grinned covered his face.

"Ready my love?" He asks in a sheepish smile before Henry leaned to kiss him on his cheek. They both turned and catch both George and Joanna had seated in their own bikes before starting the engine. Joanna had David secured on her lap, surprised by how much calmer he is more than Alex thought.

"Alright Harrington, let's give you the tour." Alex says and starting his own bike.

The day had turned out to be Alex's greatest day. He started of by showing them the stables. His parent's horse still alive and the moment it saw Alex, the horse seems to recognize him. Henry watched how Alex stares into the beautiful mare, brushing her side softly and held his emotions strong.

They'd circled around the land on the bike, showing them the duck pond, the chicken coop where Alex got his fresh supplies of farm eggs. They stopped when its lunch time and Alex had no choice when Henry insisted to drive them back.

For once, he get to see how much Henry had enjoy the day, laughing, smiling and the endless banter at Alex's constant teased. It felt relieved, to see him happy and it has been a while since he get to see Henry this way.

"Alex, that was amazing. It's a lot of work to do in this place, if you don't mind me asking." George says immediately after they arrived back at the house. "You were right, I haven't got a chance to come back here and continue my own legacy." Alex says, climbing off the bike while Henry remained seated.

"You parents would love that you still kept this place alive instead of selling it." Henry says, wrapping his arms around Alex's chest from behind. Alex leaned back between Henry's leg, receiving soft kiss over his cheek. "I did try to sell it." Alex whispered, eyes gazing over the lake.

"What? Why?" Henry asks.

"Because I got mad at you for leaving." He starts. Henry pulled away, but Alex grabbed his arms instead.

"But then Shaan knock that sense into me. telling me how I would rather lose the memory I had of us here, of Sammy, of June because I acted out of spite. So I decided to expand the land. The ranch is good for trauma therapy, I see the way it brought you out of your bubbles. Most animals does." Alex looked down at David by his feet, noticed how he is practically covered in mud from running around the ranch.

"You were right about that. Animals does helped during trauma process. They can sense fear, overwhelming emotions, something a human can't read. Much like David here when Henry first saw him. Broken souls that meant to be found." They all looked down over David on the ground, smiling at him.

"Someone need to hose him down before got him inside." Henry says abruptly, causing them snickered a smile. "I'll do it. You guys go ahead and get cleaned up for lunch. I'll be right up." Alex offered, helping Henry climbed off the bike. George grabbed the crutches from one of the help that was ready by the door and handed it to Henry.

"Need help?" George offered Alex but he shook his head as he dragged a hose from the side to clean him. "Nah we're good. Go ahead, it's going to take a minute." Alex promised him but George snorted back. "Alright, good luck."

Henry walked inside the long hallway, his crutches taps against the hardwood floor when his eyes caught at someone standing by the living room staring at the photo frames by the shelves above the fire pit.

"Hello?" Henry called and just as that person turned, Henry could feel his stomach shrunk, a tight knot formed right in the center of his chest. "Shaan?"

"Hey Hen."
