Chapter Three

Suzuka, Japan.

Sofia

"I can't believe you actually agreed to this." Tobi chuckles as we walk out of the hotel in Suzuka. Apparently, it's race weekend and Japan is particularly important to many of the drivers.

And well I'm here, not really for the race. But for a shoot for Quadrants new drop with liberty walk. I don't understand all that much about cars and formula one, but I'm hoping it's a fun weekend ahead.

"Me neither to be honest. I'm supposed too head to the other hotel closer to the track soon. To meet Max." I explain as Tobi nods listening intently.

"You wanna meet back here later? we'll meet up with a few people and go out." Tobi suggests.

"Sounds good." I nod as I adjust the hand bag on my shoulder. My oversized leather jacket perfectly sitting on my hips. it's great, no need for a disguise here. I'm not famous in Japan.

"Be safe. Call me if you need anything." I nod as Tobi and I say our goodbyes before heading our separate ways. 3:50pm, I have ten minutes until I meet this max and head to this shoot. I'd by lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I've done modelling even dabbled in acting. But something about this just feels different.

My phone rings in the pocket of my leather jacket as i walk. I pull it from my pocket and see the name of one my best friends flash across the screen. Kennedy. I answer it instantly.

"Hey Ken." I say with a smile. Kennedy and I have been friends for a while. It's hard with the time difference now. She lives in Chicago with her husband, some Baseball Player Isaiah Rhodes. She's pretty clued up on most things to do with sport considering her husband and job as the windy city warriors head of health and wellness.

"Hey girl! Are you going to the shoot?" She asks, her voice bubbly while a distant male groan echoes through the phone. Oh shit, I forgot about the time difference.

"Why are you calling me ken?" I chuckle, "What even is the time for you?"

"Don't worry about it. I just wanted to wish you luck." Her voice then sounds distant, subtle bickering clearly between her and her husband. I can't help but laugh, They've always argued, even when they were 'Friends'.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it. I'm about to meet Max now." I smile despite the fact she can't see me.

"Good luck. Call me and tell me all about it okay?" she says. I smile and agree as the phone call comes to an end and I approach the hotel I was sent the location of over email. It's beautiful, as elegant as a building can be. It towers over the buildings nearby, my eyes fall on the two massive Lamborghini's. Three men and one woman stand by the cars.

I approach slowly, My eyes falling on the woman first. She's stunning, absolutely gorgeous. Her blonde hair falls in silky waves down her back. One of the men look at me instantly, familiar.. He must be Max.

He approaches me, holding his hand out for me to shake, "Sofia, I'm Max. It's lovely to meet you in person."

I shake his hand with a soft smile tugging at my lips, "It's lovely to meet you too" I return as the other man and the stunning woman approach me too.

"Pietra, This is so exciting. I'm glad you're here." The stunning woman introduces herself, pulling me into a hug which i return in an instant.

"I'm glad to be here. Thank you for the opportunity." I smile trying to remain as professional as I can despite my slight social anxiety.

"And Lando, He said you've met before." Max steps to the side as Lando steps forward, closer to me with a friendly smile on his face.

"Oh- right, yes. Never in person though." I smile as Lando approaches giving me a friendly but professional hug. My heart drops at the smell of his cologne entering my nose. Something about it instantly draws me in. I make a mental note to ask him about that later on.

"Yeah, it was a sidemen video. Rocket league video, I think." Lando nods as he pulls away. The dark curls upon his head blowing in the wind, his brown eyes cascading down my body as I nod.

"You're shorter than I thought, you'd be." Lando says a cheeky smile on his lips... God this is exactly why I can't do stuff like this- i just can't help myself. Don't say it, Come on Sofia.

"Yeah, so are you actually." I quip sarcastically. Max tries his best to hold in his snicker from beside Lando but fails miserably. Lando's brows raise cautiously as he looks at me.

"Sorry, I've spent too much time around Harry. Clearly." I cringe trying to backtrack my comment. God humbling people specifically men has to be my favourite hobby. But i really need to learn theres a time and a place.

"It's all good. Nice to know someone here has a sense of humour." Lando quips looking over at Max, "Or this will be a very boring shoot."

"Mate. That's not funny." Max huffs. Lando only shrugs in response.

"We should probably get going. we're going to follow Max and P in my car if that's alright with you?" Lando turns to me with a smile. I nod slightly confused. Surely four of us would fit in one car? but hey, I'm not arguing with a formula one driver.

Lando pulls car keys out of his jean pocket and unlocks the car, opening the passenger side door for me and gesturing for me to get in. Surprised, I get in the car. I can't pass up the opportunity of being nosy. I glance around the car, taking note of it's elegance.

"Like it?" Lando asks as he get's in the driver's side.

"Yeah it's pretty cool." I nod, as he starts the car a loud rev echoing loudly in my ears.

"Do you drive?" Lando questions as he begins to drive. The car is impressively smooth, I can't feel the switch between gears. I steal a glance over at Lando, one hand on top of the wheel. Black shirt rolled up to his elbows revealing the beautiful tanned skin of his forearms.

"Yeah. Nothing like you I assume." I chuckle, He nods with a devilish smirk, his eyes flicking over to me every few minutes as if examining my outfit. Tight clad legs, black boots, brown skirt. It's a pretty basic sleek outfit for me.

"It's gonna be a pretty long shoot you know?" Lando says, eyes focused back on the road ahead

"I assumed so, What is the actual plan for it?" I ask curiously, the details I got over email seemed rather vague.

"Well we'll all change out. Into the new drop, there's a few different sets we've got for photos. Nissan Skyline R-32 will be the backdrop for most of them. Take the photos, maybe a few tiktoks for promo." Lando explains, I nod carefully listening.

"Sounds good. Don't you have a race this weekend? Shouldn't you be doing something about that?" I question, Lando chuckles darkly.

"Yeah, I do. But I've got plenty of time to practice, I do get time off." Lando smiles, eyes flickering back to me as he pulls into an empty lot. a few trailers and sports cars the only things there.

"If you head to Pietra, she'll take you to get set up alright?" Lando says as he parks the car. "I'll see you when the shoot starts."

I nod and get out of Lando's car. He watches me walk toward Pietra and Max as he heads to one of the trailers. My heart pounds nervously, I can't believe I'm doing this. I feel pathetic, I'm a British Youtuber doing a photoshoot with a formula one driver and CEO. what the hell am I doing?

Pietra leads me into a trailer, setting me up with a makeup and hair artist before showing me the outfits I need to change into. Anxiety truly begins to set in as I prepare to emerge from the trailer and head to the shoot. It'll be good press for me after than sidemen video. I need to do this more often, I need to branch out.

Pietra and I head out. And I'm ready, my dark hair beautifully curled, dark makeup around my eyes which will always be my choice. And the quadrant merch, in all honesty... It's beautiful. It's comfortable. As i leave the trailer I can hear it, smell it. A roaring car, burnt rubber. Then I see it, see him. Lando Norris... That must be the car he mentioned. It's detailed with the quadrant symbols and liberty walk. It's beautiful.

I forget where I am for a moment, it all feels like a scene from one of those fast and furious movies. But it's not. This is just the life they live. Formula One, sports cars.
