Autumn was always a stunning season. After moving away from a toxic family to a complete state, town and neighborhood a change was long time overdue. The crisp crunch of fallen maple leaves under (Y/N)'s boots brought them back to their senses, the cold breeze nipping the tip of their nose. 'Winter was coming soon' (Y/N) thought as they peered up from their phone following the map guiding them across town not too far from the newly moved in apartment.

"Red Scale Tattoos," (Y/N) muttered, squinting as they looked up at the store fronts before them. Their eyes caught a bright red sign, "your destination will be on your left, Red Scale Tattoos on floor two," Siri spoke out-loud. With a soft sigh, the cold air showing the breath leaving (Y/N)s lips they pushed open the door to the brick building entering a small hall that lead to a flight of stairs. (Y/N) closed the maps app, pushing the phone into their back pocket of their black jeans and made their way to the second floor.

The sound of music playing can be heard getting with every step taken up the steps and closer to the shop. Arriving at the top steps the hall separated two doors, one to the left and the other to the right. Reading the large sign on the right door (Y/N) pushed open the tattoo shop door that let out a small chime from a bell tied above the spring. Though due to the music, it seemed that the chime was drowned by the volume of a familiar bands song playing within the shop and a comforting buzzing of tattoo guns.

(Y/n)'s eyes wondered around, their hands holding the strap of their bag that laid across their chest. "Hi, welcome to Red Scale how may I help you" a blonde tall woman approached the receptionist desk. Beautiful and charming, her hair past her waist. "I have an appointment today with I believe his name is Choso?" (Y/N) responded, adjusting the bag strap once again. "Oh yeah you're getting the um.." The woman fumbled around the desk moving around stencils that seemed to have been printed various times and cut out with trimmings "the um..the freestyle that he somewhere placed here.." the woman rummaged through the papers but pulled out a clipboard and a blue pen. "Please I'm gonna need you to sign right at the bottom consenting today's work, an emergency contact and your ID please. In the mean time, let me call him over to he can start prepping his station. You can take a seat."

(Y/N) nodded, muttering a thank you as they sat down on the cushioned bench beside the door. It was a nice little shop, about 4 tattoo stations, retro gothic decor around. The burgundy walls held up nicely against the silver accents around the room. Filing up the papers to start the process, a sound of heavy boots seem to come from the back end of the shop. "(Y/N)?" The deep voice called out, pushing aside the red beaded curtain that hid a hall from the rest of the shop. "Yeah, that's me" (Y/N) responded, standing up from the seat and sliding the laminated the ID under the metal clip of the board.

Peering up from the documents (Y/N)s gaze was met by the sharp, aloof gaze of a man not too far from each other. 'I..' (Y/N) thought 'he's gorgeous..' shaking their head (Y/n) shifted their gaze off to the first mirrored station, clearing their throat softly. "I'm Choso, go ahead and take a seat at the last station I'll be right there." He added, walking behind the desk and reaching out, his hands adorned with silver rings of different sizes and designs. "Papers done?" Choso asked, looking down at (Y/N). "Oh yeah all done" they responded, handing over the clipboard before keeping their eyes on Choso for longer than desired, following the tattoo that Choso held centered on his nose and across to his cheeks.

The man moved swiftly, obviously muscle memory as he stood above the copy machine. His ears decorated heavily with piercings, his dark purple long sleeved shirt rolled up a bit allowing his arm tattoos to peek out. 'Black and white line work..'(Y/N) thought before ripping their gaze from the tattoo artist and making their way to the station. Another man seemed to be tattooing to their right, his long hair held up in a bun, a tattoo across his forehead, chatting with his silver haired client occasionally laughing. 'Since when were all tattoo artists so attractive.'

Reaching the tattoo station Choso pointed at, (y/n) moved the chair slightly and then sat upon it. (Y/N)s eyes traced the mirror that held up multiple small polaroids strung across. Taking off their bag and setting aside (Y/N) tilted forward to take a closer look at the pictures. Choso with three other males and a big smile, happy in the snow 'Best Big Brother!' written along the bottom. Another with the blonde from earlier and the male tattooing in the other station, Choso looking off in the distance behind them.

"Here you go" Choso's deep voice broke (Y/N) from their thoughts as he held out their ID. "Sorry thanks" (Y/N) took the card and dropped it within the bag beside them. "So today, your preferred spot is your back." Choso spoke out, pulling the round wheeled chair under him, tilting his head slightly as he now sat at face level with (Y/N), his hands crossed above his broad ches, leaning softly back. "Yeah I was looking to getting something along my spine, I know that's cheesy but I just need something for a change. In red or black preferably." Choso nodded, turning over to grab his tablet from the table "Yuki! Can you prep my station?" He asked, turning back towards (Y/N). "Yeah yeah I know you'd ask," the woman reappeared from the back and commenced gathering the needed items. "Based off what you asked for through instagram you were looking at a dragon, traditional Japanese" he recalled, turning over the tablet to show his sketch idea for the tattoo. "This is what I came up with."

A dragon, delicate lines, its head pierced by arrow in red but a fierce look in its eyes. A soft reminder that even after obstacles face life full force. "Yes that's perfect!" (Y/N) nodded excitedly. "It's a bit bigger than I wanted but that's fine" they added as Choso let out a small smile in validation to his artwork. "Well go ahead and take off your shirt for me, if you need to cover I'm going to have you sitting chest against the seat to have your back facing me. I'm going to print out a few different sizes for you to pick and we will start," Choso got up and headed back to the front as Yuki bright over a rolling cart with different caps filled with ink, gloves and needles. "You're in good hands no worries" Yuki winked before making her way to the front as a new client came into the shop.

With a soft chuckle (Y/N) took off their coat, and set it on the side. Since there weren't many people in the shop and Choso far off to the front of the store (Y/N) tugged their black shirt over their head and held it against the front of their torso right before Choso returned. "Stand up please," he requested as he placed on black gloves, shaving (Y/N)'s back and placing in a cold clear cream onto their back. "It's cold.." (Y/N) whispered at a shiver before he nodded, his hands gently rubbing the cream onto their skin.

"I'm going to put a stencil on in the side I think best suits you but if you don't like tell me so we can go up or down in size," Choso spoke out as he commenced placing the stencil paper onto (Y/N)s back, the palm of his large hand providing a small spot of warmth against the paper. Slowly, Choso removed the stencil and motioned (Y/N) to take a look in the mirror before starting. Looking over their shoulder a small smile tugged at the corners of (Y/N)s lips excitement rushed through their body "perfect, I love it."

Choso nodded once again, removing his gloves and adjusting his two messy buns and bangs out of his face before starting. Pulling over another rolling chair in front of his he instructed (Y/N) to sit in front of him and lean against the side of the large chair to keep their back angled. Tugging on a new pair of gloves, Choso pointed with his pinkie to (Y/N) in order to get into position. 'He's going to be behind me?' They thought now a little bit nervous.

"If you need a break, anything let me know. We might be here a bit today" he added sweetly before the buzzing of his tattoo gun sounded off. Nodding, (y/n) nodded before closing their eyes for the first prick of the needle. Choso leaned softly forward, his hand pressed against (Y/N)s back drawing the first line and pulling back "good?" He asked, tilting his head. "Y-yeah that's fine," (Y/N) agreed, taking a small breath. In reality, it didn't feel all too good as expected but they were going to toughen this out.

Choso looked into the mirror to see (Y/N)s expression, holding their eyes closed. Not the first person to do it but definitely one of the few rare clients that seem to be patient and understanding of the pain that comes with the tattoo. He chuckled softly, in his comfort zone doing his art, music and a good client. Nothing more he could ask for. Pressing the tattoo gun against (Y/N)'s skin softly, Choso commenced line work once again.

The first 3 hours seemed to pass dreadfully painful and in silence between the two. (Y/N) would occasionally listen to the conversation between who were named by Yuki as Geto, the artist and Gojo, a regular at the shop. Gojo was loud and boisterous, Geto just adding commentary occasionally to further Gojo's outlandish stories while Yuki would intervene with calling either one of them a liar. (Y/N)'s eyes moved to the mirror, Choso behind them concentrated with his work. He was soft, tender, almost caring with (Y/N). Looking at him tattoo was entrancing, he was so beautiful, pleasing to look at, his eyes tired but locked onto his actions, following every line he made. Near damn perfect. Pulling back and blowing his bangs out of his face he straightened his back only to look over at the mirror feeling eyes on him.

His eyes locked onto (Y/N)s through the reflection "you okay?" He asked licking his lips and shifting his seat back before placing his tattooing machine down on the tray. "Yeah just got used to the pain" (Y/N) responded, sitting up for a small stretch while holding the shirt against them. "Line work is done next is shading" he informed, plucking off his gloves and tossing them into the biohazard bin. "I'm going to take a smoke and I'll be back. Coffee?" He asked grabbing his phone looking back to (Y/N). "Um sure a latte please if you don't mind."

Geto, Yuki and Gojo looked at each other as Choso asked. "You know Choso?" Geto asked (Y/N). "Oh me? Uh no my friend referred him to me before I moved. I've only spoke to him through instagram for the tattoo," (Y/N) responded finding it a little weird that the other artist asked such question. Gojo laughed "Coffee? Instead of the water? Anything for a good tip I guess!" he blurted as Yuki hit him in the back of the head "dude no just good customer service" she quickly corrected with a scoff.

(Y/N) bit the inside of their lip, they definitely were opposites of Choso. 'Weirdos..' they thought before Yuki broke out that she was heading home. "Well guys tell Choso I'll be back tomorrow,, I'm out peace!" She shouted before exiting the room leaving (Y/N) with the two other males. "I only asked because Choso usually doesn't buy clients things as we have snacks and drinks here" Geto spoke out "so if you think I'm weird it's only Gojo here." "I am not! Fucking liar I'm actually very cool and smooth with the ladies you're just hating," Gojo corrected adjusting his black circle glasses. "Says the one wearing glasses in a shop," Geto teased shaking his head as he started wrapping up Gojo's tattoo with a clear tape like film.

Hearing the chime of the door bell ring once again Geto released a small chuckle "Yuki headed out for the night. She said she'll be back tomorrow morning." Choso nodded once again to show he heard. "I'm going to head out after I'm done here too. I don't have any other client for the day so shop all to yourself," geto added, finishing the bandaging of Gojo's arm.

Choso arrived at the seat, handing (y/n) the warm cup of coffee, a small stream of steam came out of the cup lid. "Thank you," (Y/N) mumbled as they brought the cup up to their lips and blew gently. "No problem and alright Geto" Choso responded before sitting back down on his chair. He leaned a bit over to see the tattoo and how it was coming along, his eyes trailing along (Y/N)'s spine. "You like it?" (Y/N) chimed in, a small chuckle leaving their lips "I can't really see so I'm asking."

Choso looked at (Y/N) "Yeah I think it's good, just shading maybe some white along some of the scales and the arrow that's all left" he answered taking a sip of his coffee. "I like it, it compliments your shape" Choso added, placing down his cup. "So why a dragon though? And as your first tattoo?" He asked, adjusting some of his loose strands of hair behind his ears. "Um well I recently moved out of my toxic family house hold onto my own. I ended up moving like a few states away in less than a week so why not a tattoo to remind me of this crazy decision that might alter the rest of my life," (Y/N) shifted their gaze to the floor thinking about the sudden choice. "I know a dragon means change or growth, something like that I think so why not that," (Y/N) looked up adding to their previous statement.

"Makes sense, well at least I know you'll look at it with meaning from today, ready to continue?" Choso pulled on a new pair of gloves with a smile. (Y/N) nodded, leaning back over the chair, Choso now sitting beside (Y/N) to work on the right side of the dragon. This time a bit closer to them than before.

A half an hour passed by as Geto bid himself a farewell with Gojo, exiting the studio doors with a chime. The artist continued to work, obviously a professional artist but one thing he could always do is appreciate the lines of their spine, muscles and soft skin, how still they sat in his seat. "Well, I gotta admit this is a first, sitting so well for a back tattoo without complains on something so big." He chuckled "you are aware this thing is gonna be hurting for weeks or maybe months right?"

(Y/N) giggled, "unfortunately a bit of a masochist so no worries." Choso let out a small smirk "is that so?" He asked, clinching a bit closer to get the small details of the dragons eyes. His warm breath brushed against (Y/N)'s bare skin close to the nape of their neck. A slight shiver escaped (Y/N) causing them to blush and bury their head into their arms crossed on top of the larger chair before them. "Sorry.." Choso whispered before pulling away and wiping the residue with a wet napkin.

More time passed by, small conversations came out such as siblings, pets, favorite movies, odd stories, Choso had seemed to be a bit more open as time passed by. He now was on (Y/N)s other side. "So you have anyone special?" (Y/N) asked, now highly curious. "Me? No not right now," Choso responded locking his strong gaze with (Y/N)s eyes "why do you ask? You're interested?" A smirk tugged on the corner of his lip, a smug look upon his face before shifting his eyes back to the tattoo.

A blush crawled upon (Y/N)'s face, "you're just very attractive to be single. Sorry if that's offensive," (Y/N) nervously responded, shaking their head at how stupid they seemed to have sounded. Choso peered up through his eyebrows softly, "thank you, you're very attractive yourself. But no I'm not with anyone right now."

(Y/N)'s heart beat a bit faster this time, more like skipped at the compliment given by the man beside them. "Thank you," (Y/N) said bashfully. Choso didn't say a word in response as he thought of ways to maybe deeping this newly blossomed "friendship." (Y/N) grew silent, nervous and anxious in thought of how dumb they might have come across to the male tattooing. That was their last intention to be seen that way, as someone who flirts so openly.

"Are you seeing someone?," Choso questioned as he spread the Vaseline type substance on the fresh tattoo. His finger tips grazing faintly down (y/n)s back sending a small jolt of what could've been felt as electricity up (Y/N)s body, goosebumps now showing themselves against their skin. Choso noticed, almost enjoyed watching the subconscious enjoy his touch. "N-no I'm not at the moment, but I am open to new comers," (Y/N) responded, shifting their gaze off to the side to avoid Choso's sight. A deep 'hm' crawled its way out of Choso's throat before allowing another spell of silence cover their moment.

(Y/N) closed their eyes for the rest of the tattoo before allowing their mind to float away with the buzz of Choso's tattoo gun.

Choso noticed (Y/N) to relax a bit more, his eyes looking over to his client through the reflection of mirror. Tranquil. Carefree. His sight grazed (Y/N)'s face, their lips and their breath escaping softly. They were attractive but Choso knew client and artist relationships beyond the studio are looked down upon. "Almost done.." he murmured softly not to disturb (Y/N). "I'm just going to clean you up, put some saniderm on your back and you'll be set to go."

Using one hand he held a napkin on (Y/N)'s lower back, spraying a bit of cold water and wiping it with another napkin once setting the bottle down. The feeling was a bit refreshing when compared to the stinging down across (Y/N)'s back. Drying it softly, Choso placed the saniderm across the tattoo, making sure there wouldn't be air bubbles. "You're gonna want to take this off in about 2-3 days, wash with antibacterial soap my favorite is the yellow dial bar and pat dry. Make sure you moisturize with fragrance free moisturizers and no gym or excessive sweating for about a week or two." Choso stated as he stood up, tangling his fingers within one another and stretching tall, his shirt slightly lifting accidentally revealing a bit of his happy trail and a toned bottom torso.

(Y/N) couldn't help but stare, a small groan escaping Choso's lips before straightening himself up. "You stare a lot," he pointed out with a chuckle motioning (Y/N) over to the reception desk. Tugging back on their shirt quickly after looking at such a masterpiece on their back. Bright red in the face, (Y/N) walked behind him after collecting their things as Choso totaled up the final price as he turned the tablet around for the payment. "I didn't mean to stare" (Y/N) choked out nervously.

"You're good," he responded plucking up a business card from the top, scribbling something as (Y/N) paid before his work. 'Ding!' Rang out from the tablet as Choso smiled and thanked (Y/N) for the payment. "Here, let me walk you out." Choso held open the door and allowed (Y/N) to walk infront of him and down the steps, removing a cigarette from behind his ear and lighting it in between his lips.

Once standing outside the building, the outside dark and autumn wind blowing between them, Choso placed the toxic cigarette between his lips and took a huff before exhaling. "Thank you for the patience," he spoke out, looking down at (Y/N). Nodding (Y/N) looked up "it was my pleasure I can't wait for it to hea-"

"Here," he intervened "this is my business card to the studio so if you need any other pieces or need help with the healing please call me."

(Y/N) nodded once again, flipping the card to see his personal number scribbled on the blank space on the back with a 'call me,, for some coffee' notes below the number.

Choso looked up and away from (Y/N) almost as if he didn't want to be noticed causing (Y/N) to laugh softly. "Definitely will call you up for some coffee. Thank you."

A soft blush followed upon his cheeks as he took another huff of his cigarette "mmhm, have a nice night (Y/N)," he mumbled now willingly looking down at the person before him.

(Y/N) tiptoed and tugged the large male towards them, kissing his cold cheek quickly before pulling away. "You too Choso, have a nice night. See you soon." (Y/N) waved their hand as they walked away leaving the tattoo artist standing infront of the building entrance.

A soft sigh exited his lips with a chuckle, a new sense of excitement rushed through him
"yeah see you soon.."
