Chapter 5: The Kidnapping

After a few hours of walking, trying to get as far away from the house as possible, Rose stopped for a break. She sat down under a tree and pulled out an enchanted Notch apple.

Jace jumped to the top of the tree Rose was sitting under, and peeked over the edge to watch Rose. A plan was forming in his mind, but he needed control over Rose for it to work. Jace smirked and jumped down from the tree, landing in front of Rose in a crouch. "Sleep my dear Rose." Jace whispered as he cast the familiar spell.

Rose slumped over, the food falling from her hand. Her eyes fluttered shut and she passed out.
Jace grinned and stood up from his crouch. "Now when she awakes, she will become mine." Jace said as he smirked. He picked Rose up, and her belongings, and teleported away.

Herobrine appeared next to Notch and cast a quick spell making it so Notch couldn't teleport again. "You need to stop running. Look I understand that Rose made you angry, but Rose has been alone for hours while I had to chase you down."

Notch turned on his brother and snapped. "You chose her, you can guide her. I'm not going back." He strode off, furious the his brother took his teleportation power.

Herobrine sighed and teleported in front of Notch, stopping him in his tracks. "Notch you were so eager to follow the rules, and they clearly state that at least 2 of the 3 of us have to guide the Chosen one."

Notch snorted and kept walking. "Go find Steve then, I'm sure he would just looove to help."

Herobrine called after him, "Notch he hasn't respawned yet. Steve is still in the respawn void, trapped until his physical body heals." He watched Notch keep walking, sadness is his eyes. "Notch you know I can't do this alone."

That made Notch pause. He turned around and faced Herobrine. The physical distance between them was small, yet they both knew the emotional distance was growing larger every cycle. Then Notch spoke. "Fine. Give me back my teleporting powers, and we'll go back and explain everything to Rose. Then I'll try and find Jace, and convince him to leave Rose alone."

Herobrine nodded and removed the spell preventing teleportation. They both vanished from sight,   heading back home.

Jace reappeared, staggering a little under the weight of Rose. He straightened up and looked around at his house. "Its good to be home." He adjusted the weight of Rose and walked up the stairs to the massive guest room. Placing Rose on the queen sized bed, he tucked the pale purple silk sheets around her. Then he turned and walked back downstairs, heading for his potions and enchantments room. Once inside he got to work on a new potion. He added cocoa beans and sugar, then looked for the last ingredient. "Dammit I knew I shouldn't have used my last Nether Star for that boy." Jace sighed and opened a portal back to the Nether and stepped through, then sealed the portal behind him. He pulled out his enchanted diamond sword and started killing Wither Skeletons on the ramparts of the Nether Fortress.

Notch and Herobrine reappeared in the living room of the house. "Notch maybe you should stay down here while I get Rose. She doesn't know you calmed down yet."

Notch sighed and looked at his brother. "Very well, but please tell Rose that I have calmed down, maybe it will make her more willing to come down to speak with us both."

Herobrine nodded and went back upstairs to the room they left Rose in. "Rose? Its okay, you can come out now." Herobrine didn't see her in the room so he quickly checked all the 2nd floor rooms. Still nothing, so he went downstairs and searched all the 1st floor rooms, making sure to check the library. He rounded a shelf and saw the book was gone. He swore loudly and Notch came running in.

"What's wrong Herobrine?" Notch followed his gaze and saw the hole in the shelf where the book was. He swore as well, then turned to Herobrine. "Search the house for clues, maybe whoever took the book left clues."

Herobrine looked at Notch in disbelief. "Notch, only two people would have any reason for that book, and Steve is still in the respawn void. Rose must have it."

Notch looked at him, his brow furrowed. "Why would Rose take it? She can read it here anytime." He looked at the hole where the book was and then back at Herobrine. "Wait did you find Rose or not?"

Herobrine shook his head. "No. She's not where we left her, I checked all the rooms upstairs and downstairs. She's not here anymore."
Notch looked at his brother in disbelief. "Well where the hell would she go?? You told her to stay put right?! Then why the *beep* would she leave?!" He glared at Herobrine, scowling.

Herobrine threw up his hands. "How in the world would I know? None of this would have happened if YOU hadn't run off because you were mad!" He took a deep breath and tried to calm down "Look none of that matters right now, right now we need to find Rose. She's not here, which means she most likely got bored and wandered off to explore."

Notch glared at him. "Or Jace took her! You of all people should know the lengths Jace will go to for someone he loves! He could have her right now, and I for one am not staying here and waiting around for my son to do who knows what." He turned away from Herobrine and stormed down the stairs, heading for the front door.

Herobrine sighed and then teleported in front of Notch, stopping him. "Notch wait. We don't know that Jace took her, she most likely went back to the pool. That is her first memory, she is likely drawn to it. We should check there before you go running off after Jace."

Notch glared for a moment then nodded abruptly. "Fine but if Rose isn't there, I am going after my son with or without you. Do you understand?"

Herobrine nodded. "Duly noted. Now let's get going while we still have daylight."
Notch nodded and he and his brother walked out of their home, and started off to the pool.
