(A/N: Just want to make it clear that Morgause is NOT a character from Fairy Tail. Morgause is a character from Merlin. I couldn't find anyone from Fairy Tail that would suit Morgause's character. Enjoy!)
Minerva sat on her throne beside King Faust. Jellal and Siegrain sat to the king's right.
Gajeel dropped to his knees before the king. "Sire, the Outer Sector is being rebuilt. Construction should be done by tomorrow."
The king nodded. "Good."
"I swear! I only wanted to-" the man's voice was cut off as he was thrown to the floor.
"Silence!" Faust yelled. He turned to Sir Macao Conbolt. "What is his crime?"
"Magic."
Minerva inhaled sharply. She knew the man would be executed without questioning.
"He was found using magic to help the construction."
Suddenly, Mira Jane began to cry. "Please, sire. I beg of you! Let him go!"
The king ignored her. "What's your name, boy?"
"Elfman Strauss, sire. And I'm not a boy. I'm a man."
"Did you use magic?"
"Yes."
"So you are guilty?"
"No." Elfman looked up at the king. "You're the corrupt one, sire."
"Execution is tomorrow. Take the filthy man out of my sight."
"Elfman!" Mira screamed.
Elfman looked at Mira with sad eyes. "Take care, sister."

"I'm so sorry," Minerva whispered, hugging Mira.
"D-Do you t-think he was guilty? Just because of magic?"
Minerva thought for a moment. "I'll speak with King Faust. He'll listen to me."
Mira let out a shuddering sight. "You're so kind, my lady."
"Your brother doesn't deserve death."

Jellal paced back in forth in his room.
"This is wrong, Jellal."
He ran his hand through his hair. "You think I don't know? Erza, I can't. Do. Anything. About it!"
"You're the prince!"
"And he's the king!"
"But you're his son!"
Jellal stared at the ground sadly. "It doesn't seem like that anymore."

"Minerva!" Faust said, getting up from his throne.
Minerva smiled graciously. "I have something to ask you."
"Anything, my dear."
"Let the man free."
Faust frowned. "He's guilty!"
"He used magic to help us! Surely-"
"He. Used. Magic!"
"So you're saying anyone who has the ability to perform magic will be executed?"
Faust nodded and sat back down. "Precisely."
"Even if.." she whispered. "They're related to you?"
The king nodded. "That is how my father did it, and that is how I will do it. It's traditional."
"Well, it's stupid!" Minerva yelled.
"DON'T YOU DARE YELL AT ME!" the king roared.
"Well then let the man free!"
"Feel guilty for him?" King Faust asked. "Then why don't you spend the night in a prison cell."
"What?" Minerva cried as guards grabbed her wrists.
"Don't behave this way again."

The guards threw her into a cell and handcuffed her.
The metal door closed.
Minerva wept.
She cried because the man who she thought as her father would execute her if he found out about her magic.
She cried because the man who she thought as her father had told her to spend the night in a prison cell.
She cried because the man who she thought as her father...cared for no one.

"Erza," Mira begged. "You don't have to do this. Using magic is risky."
"I watched Lisanna die. I'm not going to watch Elfman die."

The bells rang all night.
"The prisoner escaped! The prisoner escaped!" Wakaba yelled.
From my room, I smiled.
