Mack

Gabriella drives like my grandma. That's it. That's all I have to say. I asked Annabelle and Gabriella a thousand times if I could have a turn, but they respond to me like my parents, they said no.

"Gabriella, this is taking for-ev-er!" I sighed.

"You wanna try?" Gabriella asked.

"Yeah!" I exclaimed, sitting up a bit straighter.

"Rhetorical question." She snapped at me and repositioned her hands on the wheel. Shortly after, we heard Annabelle's phone go off. I wanted so badly to ask her what it said, but I didn't want to get on her nerves any more than I already was. I just wanted to help Annabelle since she was just a bit socially awkward, no offense to her. Gabriella and I sort of helped guide her through her social life.

After about five minutes, I couldn't take it anymore. "What did that text say, Annabelle?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing." Annabelle sighed. But she had that starry eyed look that she always wore when someone did something sweet for her and she was just taking it in.

"Are you sure?" I tried, attempting to pry something out of her.

"Yeah," Annabelle sighed, but it was a happy sigh. She turned her head to the window, and in that moment, I took my chance and snatched her phone from her lap.
