Cam

As I walked back to my table, I could see my friends all huddled around the table with their heads put together. It looked like a sea of blonde and black from where I was standing. When I came over, they all looked up at me.

"What?" I asked, shrugging. Derrick, my best friend, was the first to speak up. It was really hard to take him seriously when his floppy blonde hair tended to go everywhere when he spoke.

"Lemme see your phone." He said sternly with an impeccable straight face.

"Okay," I gave him a weird look at I handed over my phone. He typed in my passcode, which of course he knew, and started fingering around.

"Aha!" Derrick looked up at me and smiled.

"What?" He was totally weirding me out by now.

"You got her number!" Derrick explained as our whole table went crazy.

"Hey, hey, hey!" I exclaimed, which silenced them. "She gave it to me, I didn't ask for it!" I snatched my phone back from Derrick.

"Even better!" Derrick slapped me on the back as I took my seat.

"She doesn't even have my number." I said as I slumped into my chair. I hated attention for stuff I didn't even want to talk about.

"Perfect, now we have an excuse to text her!" Matt, another one of our friends, piped up. He had long jet black hair that he always managed to keep just above his eyes. He nodded at Derrick. As if Derrick read Matt's mind, he swiped my phone from my hand and ran off with it.

Now, it wasn't that I wasn't totally fit, but Derrick was really fast. I chased him around the parking lot, and after ten minutes, I heard the deadly 'shwoop' of my iPhone, indicating that Derrick had sent a message. He stopped dead in his tracks, and I almost ran into him.

"What did you do?!" I remarked angrily. I snatched the phone from his sweaty hands and looked down at the screen. It read:

Sent to Annabelle 12:04 A.M.

Hey Annabelle, it's Cam.

"You made me run around the parking lot at Quincella's for ten minutes for that?!" I huffed.

"It's good exercise?" Derrick tried.

"I'll show you exercise." I gave him what I liked to call my death stare. He knew what that meant, and took off into the building.
