11 - Continue or Reset
Sans tilted his head. "So tell me kid. What do you expect to accomplish by this." He paused. "Do you think if you keep trying you can kill me, or is it now that you can't undo it you want to go back to mercy." He darkened. "Regardless of which you want, I know you didn't want the happy ending when you reset. If you had exited the ruins without the smell of death on you I might have considered being friends and striving for a peaceful resolution." His skeletal smile grinned lifelessly at Frisk. "But the minute you came here with the telltale signs of genocide... Your fate was sealed."
Sans raised a hand in front of him. "Funny." He said. "Usually I start a fight by throwing you across the ground and impaling you on bones. This time I'll start with something a little more interesting." A blue energy crackled across his eye and with a concussive crack, a beam of energy flew from a place behind him.
Sans laughed. "Not so predictable now, am I." Frisk dodged the beam and began running for Snowdin. Sans chuckled. "Don't bother kid." A wall of bones erupt from the ground barring Frisk,s path. "I told you already. You can't escape me."
Frisk cried out as they were impaled from multiple directions at once. They stared down at their blood soaked chest and began to cry.
The world went dark and Frisk closed their eyes. When they opened them they were back in the void. Chara stood across from them. "So I see Sans is angry to." Frisk fell to the ground and lay still.
Chara smirked. "So I guess you're getting what was always coming for you. But don't think just because you're dead that I'm done with you." Chara expression saddened. "I mean it. I was prepared to just give up this whole genocide thing. But nooo, little Frisk wanted to know what happened. You disgust me."
Frisk lay on the ground not responding. They began to shake uncontrollably. Chara walked over to Frisk and stared down with contempt. "What's the matter Frisk. Scared of facing your issues instead of avoiding them through resets." Chara smirked. "Go on. Just reset it all. That's all you've ever done when you encountered an obstacle. Just reset it." Chara's expression filled with anger. "DO IT. I DARE YOU."
Frisk struggled to their feet and reached for the reset button then shook their head and moved for the continue button instead. Chara scoffed. "Trying to resolve your issues without fighting. Well it's a start but... At this point you've gone too far for mercy." Chara faded and Frisk found themselves standing back in the snow.
Sans narrowed his eye sockets. "Maybe i'm not being clear enough." He said. "I'm not going to let you continue."Frisk dropped the toy knife and opened their arms towards Sans, smiling hopefully.
Sans yelled at Firsk. "You had your chance." He raised his hand shooting bones from around Frisk. Frisk clenched their eyes tight but the pain never came. They found themselves surrounded by a cage of bones.
Sans sighed. "I'm not going to waste my time killing you over and over again." He said. "So you can just freeze out here." He turned and began to walk away.
Frisk called out. "Sans. Wait." But Sans just kept walking away.
Frisk sat down on the cold snow and put their head in their hands. They started to cry again. "Why did I have to be so curious." Frisk managed to get out between sobs. "How could I have been so inconsiderate."
A familiar ghostly aura appeared by Frisk. Chara sat down beside them and spoke. "Frisk." She said. Frisk buried their head further in their hands. Chara sighed. "I know I got angry back there... And I see that you really are sorry, so..." Chara put a hand on Firsk's shoulder. "I forgive you."
Frisk looked up a Chara with tears in their eyes. "W-why. I've hurt you so much. And I was going to do it again. So how can you forgive me."
Chara smiled. "You already know the answer to that question. I learned it from you after all."
Frisk wiped away their tears and gave a weak smile. "Thanks Chara."
