__ Nexo Knights __

Council members of the Monster Alliance quickly gathered with the Lava Monsters pulling out of the running (Y/N) was the winner and successfully defended her claim to the throne.

"So our new Queen is half-human." The Elm of the Dark Realm hissed bitterly. Once the completed report of what had happened was announced to them via the Shrooms of Doom.

"Are you sure that the humans now know about what has transpired?" One of the forest monsters spoke up first, voicing his concern.

"Yes, they are aware of what has transpired thanks to the Nexo Knights and are greatly interested in what it will mean for them." Bramblina replied, looking to the Elm of the Dark Realm. "I don't think they would attack because they'll know it wouldn't be in their best interest at that point."

"Preparations must be made for the arrival of the new Queen. The Security must be tightened, both around the Isle of Vile and in the castle." Mushlord the Marauder continued, lines of worry creasing his forehead. "Especially when it gets out that the new Queen is a half-human."

"Good idea, Mushlord. I'm sure you'll do a perfect job as ever." Marquis de Seaweed thought for a moment, hands crossed in front of him on the table, before voicing his own concerns.

"The humans will naturally be wary of us, thanks to their biasses. We must show a united front. Be on our best behaviour for any prying eyes, so to speak. That means you, too, Elm of the Dark Realm."

The Elm of the Dark Realm gave Marquis de Seaweed a dark glare, not amused at all by the turn that the events had taken in the last week or so. He just sat back and kept silent for now. After all, she won't stay Queen for long.

There were chuckles and smiles around the table all talking of importance that (Y/N) prepared at once for her coronation. Marquis de Seaweed, however, kept his narrowed eyes on the ancient forest monster. He was dangerous, more than anyone could anticipate. He'd have to keep an eye on him at all times. The Elm of the Dark Realm was a wild card that they didn't need to be dealing with right now.

"Well now, I think that's all for today. We all have things to do to prepare for the arrival of our new Queen's coronation. Session adjourned." Marquis de Seaweed declared and the meeting was ended with everyone rushing to handle their assigned jobs for the coronation.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

Nidhogg came gliding into the courtyard of dark tower castle. Settling himself down gently. As two representatives of the Council members of the Monster Alliance stepped forward to meet the new Queen.

(Y/N) climbed off the undead dragons back, Queen Selma, Echo and Pythor at her side.

"Greetings, I trust you have all heard the news." (Y/N) greeted them, doing her best not to grin.

"Your Highness." Marquis de Seaweed returned, bowing to her. (Y/N) nodded her head returning the gesture.

"Your Highness, we've received some disturbing information." Mushlord the Marauder informed the soon to be new Queen.

"Yes?" (Y/N) asked. "It's a security concern. We believe someone will try to ruin the coronation, perhaps attempt to assassinate you." Mushlord reported.

"That's not surprising." Pythor said. "(Y/N) has managed to collect a few enemies." The white and purple anacondrai chuckled. Listing off in his mind the ever-growing list of people that had crossed (Y/N).

"Pythor." Queen Selma warned but smiled warmly. She knew that it had come out of a place of love, not spite. "Pythor is right, however." She said. "The humans of this land may not be too happy with monsters having this much power."

Mushlord nodded in agreement there was no doubt the humans wouldn't take this news well.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

"Welcome to the Knighton News Network. I'm Herb Herbertson." The male human co-host shouted. "And I'm Alice Squires." The female robot reported in a cheery tone.

"In the latest news." Herb Herbertson continued. "The battle for the monster throne is over. The individual known as (Y/N) has won and will be crowned Queen of Monsters later today at a nighttime coronation." Herb Herbertson announced to those viewing the broadcast.

"Wow, scary Herb." Alice Squires chuckled. "The event is only opened to all monsters and those allied with monster kind, so if this doesn't apply to you, your attendance is not required." Alice Squires informed the viewing public.

"Disappointing." Herb Herbertson said in fake disappointment like the seasoned news show leach. "Although I'm sure we'll see the new Queen soon launching her first officially royal conquering of a nearby human village any day now." Herb Herbertson said with his cheesy tv show host grin. Trying to drum up some drama and fear-mongering for the news broadcast.

"We'll hopefully the Nexo Knights will be there, Herb." Alice Squires chuckled again. "Speaking of the Nexo Knights. I wonder how knight Macy's parents the King and Queen of Knightonia are handling the news of a rival monarchy." Alice Squires added as the broadcast continued.

The Knightonia Royal Family, King Halbert and Queen Halbert. Were practically losing their minds at the news. "A kingdom of monsters!?" King Halbert spat in disgust at the news.

"Oh, my." Queen Halbert said her eyes glued to the news report on the screen. "This is terrible!" King Halbert whined. Fancypants, the personal Squirebot attendant of King Halbert and Queen Halbert was doing his best to keep the King calm.

"We have to stop this before anything starts!" King Halbert ordered. "No, dear. We have to be careful about this, this (Y/N) has quite a reputation. She's known to be ruthless, cold and sometimes even heartless. And possesses a tactical mind that surpasses even that of any of our top strategists." Queen Halbert said, and King Halbert could sense the urgency and concern in her tone.

"We have to stop this travesty before it is too late. By any means." King Halbert argued with his wife. Surely his beloved Hama would see reason with him. Monsters were dangerous and vile creatures that had no place in this life. They were a blight on the realm and had to be stopped.

"And they'll take this as a re-declaration of war." Queen Halbert continued as if King Halbert hadn't just spoken. "That's how their minds work." Queen Halbert spoke her words holding great wisdom. She always was the more rational and level-headed one between the two of them.

King Halbert turned to face his Queen about to object but his wife continued. "Patience husband. Not all is lost. They are still weak and their new ruler is young, perhaps she will see reason and agree to a peace treaty." Queen Halbert added, trying to soothe her husband.

King Halbert's lips twitched. Monsters wanting peace. How obscured. His wife was too kind to suggest they were even capable of such complex thoughts beyond ravines and mindless destruction.

"Macy even mentioned in her messages that this (Y/N) is human." Queen Halbert pointed out. Hoping that her dear husband would see reason in his wife's words. That there may be a chance for peace instead of war if they were willing to listen to each other.

"Don't forget, Monstrox, Hela and Ruina Stoneheart were all humans once, too." King Halbert spat. The very thought disgusted him greatly.

"We'll manage. And if we must fight again, we'll fight." Queen Halbert said giving her husband a comforting pat on the shoulder. "Now I'm going to call Macy and see what she's learnt anything else." Queen Halbert said excusing herself to go make a call.

Once the Queen was gone King Halbert turned to Fancypants. "Fancypants, set up a discreet private meeting within my private chambers immediately." The King ordered. The ever-loyal squirebot bowed and left to gather a strategy council for the King."

"This is a treat we can not ignore and allow to fester There's not going to be a Monster Empire, even if a half-human is the Queen." King Halbert said firmly. "I'll make sure of it." He would protect his home and family by any means.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

"Well, I just got off the phone with both my mum and my father." Macy said with a tired sigh. It had been a very long chat. "What does King Halbert require?" Clay asked the ever dutiful knight of the realm. "Well, it was mostly screaming hysterics with a few words tossed in." Macy admitted to her friends.

"Yikes." Axl commented. "And the Queen?" Clay asked out of dutiful curiosity. "She wanted to know if we've discovered anything new and to keep her posted if we do." Macy answered, thankful that she had at least one sane parent. "How's Lloyd taking things?" Macy asked her friends and teammates. "Also, yikes." Axl commented again.

Macy looked into the room where the ninjas were. Lloyd was hysterically crying into an obviously distressed Jay's shoulder. Zane was patting Lloyd's back trying to get him to calm down.

Cole was doing his best not to get too close due to the tears. But was standing by as a show of solidarity. Lloyd had told them what Echo had told him. All were equally devastated. Some taking it better than what the others had.

"The others?" Macy asked, noting three were missing. "That Wu guy is making some tea in the kitchen. The other two are punching out holograms in the training room." Robin answered Macy's questions.

Lance came strutting in his hair done up in curlers face cream all over his face and Dennis buffing and shining Lance's armour as he walked. "Make sure to get it extra shiny, Dennis." Lance ordered looking at himself in a solid gold mirror. "I need to look fabulous for this coronation." Lance smiled at his reflection, his teeth giving off a sparkle as he did.

"Lance, dude. What's up with your face?" Aaron questioned the spoiled knight and did his best not to laugh. "I'm getting ready." Lance says rolling his eyes at the thrill seeker.

"For?" Macy interrogated Lance. "The coronation." Lance answered. His fellow Nexo Knights all turning to look at him with shocked faces. Lance saw their reactions and rolled his eyes again. "I am a Richmond. We do not miss big important events like this." Lance declared as if his family pride was on the line.

"So? We're crashing this royal shindig?" Aaron asked the other with a wide grin on his face. "Sounds fun." Axl admitted with a snort. "Do you think they serve food?" The giant asked the others. "There's usually a giant feast after a coronation back home so I'm going to guess, yes." Macy said answering Axl's question.

"YES!" Axl bellowed in excitement disturbing and unsettling those who were not used to Axl's outbursts.

Nya stuck her head out of the training room to see what was going on. Once Clay explained Nya just grunted and pulled her head back into the holographic training room.

Kai was wildly slashing through the holograms. Nya was slightly frightened by her brother's rage. He wasn't even focusing on his surroundings. Just attacking blindly.

Kai's sword is knocked out of his hand. Kai loud out a rage-filled roar and tackled the hologram and started throwing punches. Kai screamed and yelled as he kept punching. The hologram faded and Kai just kept going. Punching the floor of the training room.

Kai continued to keep going. Tears flowing down his face and hitting the floor. Nya slowly made her way over to her brother as he slammed his fist against the floor, breaking down into sobbing.

Nya didn't say anything, just lent down and put a comforting hand on her brother's shoulder. Kai turned to look at his little sister, his lips wobbling. The sibling embraced each other in a tight hug.

Zane walked into the kitchen to help Sensei Wu with the tea. Chef Eclair was flittering around the old man in his kitchen.

Wu was muttering to himself. "The past is the past. And the future is the future." It appeared to the Nindroid he was thinking back to his choices of that fateful day.

"Sensei." Zane called out in a soft tone so as not to upset or startle him. "Hm, yes Zane?" Sensei Wu called back. "Lloyd has calmed down somewhat." Zane informed him. "Ah, I'll bring the tea shortly." The old spinjitzu master confirmed and returned to his tea.

"Sensei?" Zane asked again. "Yes, Zane." Sensei Wu answered. "It is about (Y/N)." Zane said and Sensei Wu stayed quiet, listening to his student.

"She has quite an interesting personality." Zane began. "I've found that she seems to see the darkest aspects of someone's nature very clearly, as one might expect but after speaking with her." Zane said, drawing in his breath.

"I have also found that she's clearly unhappy about being here, it is clear to me that she is imprisoned by more than just her mentality and beliefs." Zane explained. "My brother Echo seems to be a countermeasure but he does not seem to be enough to stop this."

"What has led you to believe this?" Sensei Wu questioned his student.

"Echo can convince her to stop but if he is outnumbered by those she perceived as in power he is unable." Zane tried to explain. Sensei Wu stroked his beard as he listened to Zane.

"There is also something on her arm." Zane added. "Zane, that is called a birthmark." Sensei Wu chuckled at his student. "No, sensei." Zane corrected his sensei. "There is something else. It is only visible under extreme duress." Zane further explained.

Sensei Wu paused at this information. Now that stuck out. "I'm not familiar with this but I will ask Misako if she has discovered anything similar to this during her studies and travels." Sensei Wu said with confidence.

Zane smiled at his sensei and helped carry the tea tray. He could only trust in his teacher's judgement and that Misako may know something that they could use to help (Y/N).

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

"Queen (Y/N), welcome back." The Siren said calmly, extending a hand to the future Queen. "It's... a pleasure, Siren of Seaguard." She replied with a smile and took the offered hand, shaking it firmly.

"If you will please follow me, I will lead you to your quarters for preparations for your coronation." The Siren of Seaguard continued and she turned around, queueing (Y/N) that she should follow her now.

As soon as they were out of sight the pair burst into laughter.

"Sorry, Siren." (Y/N) apologised still laughing as she made and the wicked songstress made their way to her room. "(Y/N) such behaviour must stop!" The Siren of Seaguard lightly scolded the girl. "A future Queen of Monsters does not apologise for anything."

(Y/N) takes a deep breath and forces a neutral expression onto her face, nodding at the Siren of Seaguard.

"Now then let us go through some of Hela's old garments and see if we can't pull together a coronation outfit." The Siren of Seaguard excitedly declared. (Y/N) rolled her eyes in response.

"Can't I just show up in blood-splattered armour?" (Y/N) whined a little. "You know as a normal monster?" (Y/N) hinted to the siren. It was now the Siren of Seaguard's turn to burst out laughing.

"Darling." The siren said whipping away a tear. "As much as that would be appropriate for a monster to wear such a thing. For you not so much. This is a formal event and you must dress as such."

(Y/N) glanced down at the floor. Doing her best to ease the burning embarrassment in her cheeks.

"Now, now." Siren tutted. "Don't start that." Siren lifted (Y/N)'s head with a hand. "You have heard things like that all your life. It was fine to run from them back then but you are a Queen now. Never show weakness." Siren said with absolute certainty.

"You are a monster. Not some weak-willed human who sits around waiting for others to save them. Like their Queens and daughters do." The Siren of Seaguard proudly stated. "You are the glory and pride of this kingdom. A Queen that must be battle-ready, always prepared for war. And when they cry out for mercy you must show them none."

(Y/N) nodded and followed the Siren of Seaguard. This was going to be a long day.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

Sharkerado was dutifully standing at the gate, his Morning Star of Shadow proudly at his side. Deadwood & Knot had been added to his patrol his Deadwood Club slung over his shoulder.

"Wow, they've beefed up security." Jay pointed out. As he watched Sharkerado and Deadwood & Knot inspect Jestro for any weapons.

"Clay look." Macy said shaking Clay on the shoulder to get his attention. Clay looked to where Macy was pointing. "Oh, that's not good." Clay gasped at what he saw.

There were humans lined up that Clay recognised from two of the villages Jestro had previously raised, Waterton and Omelette. They had only recently been able to rebuild.

Both groups had brought various exacted tribute essentially protection money, to avoid a threat of conquest by this new monster army.

"Wow!" The Book of Monsters said. "She's not even 'Queen' yet and these people are already trying to suck up." You could hear the air quotes in the sentient book's voice.

"Take notes Jestro." The Book of Monsters instructed the novice villain.

Deadwood & Knot were inspecting the goods. "Looks good." Deadwood grunted giving the waggon a once over.

"Don't let them in dummy just take the stuff and make a note of who sent it." Knot instructed Deadwood with a sigh. It was hard being the brains with no autonomy of your own.

Deadwood & Knot took authority over the waggon and brought it inside while Sharkerado continued to stand guard.

"Next!" Sharkerado called out. Jestro and his group stepped forward. Sharkerado inspected them all then allowed them through without much hassle.

Sharkerado paused when the Nexo Knights and the Ninjas stepped forward.

"What are you doing here?" Sharkerado demanded with suspicion. "Here for the coronation." Axl said in response. Sharkerado looked him up and down to determine if the giant of a Nexo Knight was joking or not. "Why?" Sharkerado asked still unsure of these humans' intentions.

"We participated. We are entitled to attend just like they did." Kai pointed out referring to Jestro and the Lava Army.

Sharkerado let out an annoyed groan. "Loggerhead, send word ahead." Sharkerado shouted over the gate.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

The shrill voice of the enraged Siren of Seaguard echoed the halls, addressing the regal garb similar to those around her with venom dripping from every word.

(Y/N) let out a deep sigh. As the Siren of Seaguard turns her nose up at every silk gown presented to her by a parade of Berry Globlins.

(Y/N) let out a deeper sigh. This was going to be a very, long day.

There was a knock at the door and Bramblina came in with a sour look on her face. "Stop yelling at my Berry Globlins." Bramblina scolded the Siren.

Bramblina and Siren started screaming at each other.

"Bramblina?" (Y/N) said in a huff. Getting both women's attentions. "While I agree that Siren shouldn't be yelling at the globlins." (Y/N) said giving the Siren of Seaguard a side glare causing said siren to sulk. "Is there a reason you're here?" (Y/N) asked the forest monster.

"Yes, Loggerhead asked me to come and get you. He wanted to talk to you." Bramblina reported to the soon to be crowned queen.

Loggerhead was a cranky old man of a forest monster. His weapons were his trusty wooden cane and his equally cranky woodpecker that resided in the hollow on the side of his head that serves as a lookout and warns him of oncoming danger.

As if in cue Loggerhead came shuffling into the Queen's private chambers.

"(Y/N), we are here to alert you that someone we never expected will take part in the celebrations and we want you to be careful." Loggerhead said waving his cane around in the air.

"Who?" (Y/N) asked with a raised eyebrow. "The Nexo Knights of Knightonia." Loggerhead announced with a frown.

"Knightonia?" (Y/N) asked with surprise. "Why would Knightonia come here to celebrate my coronation? Are they going to make amends for all the times they tried to impose their will on us?" (Y/N) said in a sarcastic tone.

"I doubt it." Loggerhead wearily sighed. "I know those vipers of the Halbert royal family. They've sent them for a reason. And I don't think it has something to do with just simply congratulating you." Loggerhead suggested with a serious tone.

"What do I have to do?" (Y/N) asked not liking the situation any more then the old forest monster did. (Y/N) knew the Knightonia royal family particularly hated monsters. Hell, their Queen comes from a long line of bashers, mashers and outright monster haters who slew dragons for fun.

"I want you to be careful around them. Do not be alone with them more than it's extremely necessary and don't be influenced by their words. Remember, humans only cause trouble." Loggerhead finished gritting his teeth.

(Y/N) gave him a blank look at that comment. Loggerheads' cranky woodpecker began pecking at the forest monster. "Oh, ah sorry." Loggerhead said his tone was apologetic for an old monster. "That wasn't personal." He added.

"Well you are right about the trouble thing." (Y/N) snorted. "After all, I do have the symbol for chaos monsters on the back of my jacket." (Y/N) said with a laugh.

Out of all the subtypes of monsters revenge, envy, fear, deception, chaos, destruction, evil, greed, cruelty, betrayal and anger. Chaos was definitely the type (Y/N) belonged to.

"That's it!" Siren shrieked in excitement. "What's it?" (Y/N) asked. "We'll take Hela's robe and replace the glyph on it for the one of chaos." The Siren of Seaguard loudly declared. Proud of her brilliant idea.

(Y/N) let out a deeper sigh. This was going to be a very, very long day.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

The ceremony leading up the coronation was, for the most part, a blur for (Y/N). The monotonous doctrine and speeches proceeded as she watched from the sidelines. Waiting for the grand entrance she was scheduled to make.

The generals took the stage, (Y/N) listened half-heartedly as Baron Badwood blathered on about bravery and loyalty and dedication. He finished and Baron Badwood once again found his seat.

And then it was time. The doors opened and (Y/N) stepped out, to the quiet murmurs of those around her. She felt the intensity of hundreds of thousands of eyes focus on her.

For a split second, the world froze. Her instincts screaming that something was wrong. Her mind immediately took in everything that could be a potential threat to today's proceedings.

Certain monsters had sequestered themselves off to the sides with a sinister gleam in their eyes. "What are you up to Elm of the Dark Realm? Perhaps looking to feast on the souls gathered here today?" (Y/N) thought to herself.

There was a guard on edge, completely ignoring the speeches, their hands balled into tight fists, his entire body focused on the Nexo Knights were in attendance. "Humans at a monster event would undoubtedly stir up trouble." (Y/N) thought to herself.

Jestro, the Book of Monsters and some of the Lava Army spread out each of the Lava Monsters were either eyeing up someone to fight. Which under normal circumstances were well normal for a monster some really enjoyed testing their strength against each other. But given that this was a coronation ceremony this stood out a little.

The Ninjas were seated on the other side of the hall. Cole was eyeing the entrance to the castle's kitchen. "A poisoning attempt perhaps?" (Y/N) mused.

The Siren of Seaguard was talking to the Treble Makers behind the stage. Pythor ligging close by listening in. The Ninja's teacher, Wu was giving the self-proclaimed general and the sole survivor of the imprisoned Anacondrai tribe the stick eye. "Looking for a chance to settle old scores, old man?" (Y/N) thought to herself.

(Y/N) cast her eyes cast forward, as time began to move forward again.

She remained calm, composed and elegant as she stepped onto the stage. The monsters bowed and she nodded in response. She continued up the steps to where the throne for the coronation was set. Inwardly, she was trying not to panic. Now that she was here, she didn't know if she could go through with it.

She headed toward the throne. Then her sense of danger peaked and she whirled away. A crossbow bolt hit the stage right where she had been standing. She looked up at the source of the shot and knew that another was coming.

Inwardly, (Y/N) was glad that she had insisted that the robes the Siren of Seaguard picked out had to be something she could fight in.

(Y/N) threw her outer robe aside and drew her sword in one smooth motion. She shifted, and the blade deflected a bolt that would have hit her in the heart. She made sure to deflect it downwards, into the stage away from any people.

The bolt was sticking out of the stage, only a few feet away from where she had been standing, a grim reminder of what could have happened if she had not acted so quickly.

Outside her line of sight, chaos erupted. The crowd was frantic, people fleeing towards the exits only to be cut off by guards who were blocking the doors to stop anyone from escaping. It was protocol for any attempted assassinations.

(Y/N) searched the room echoed by a cry from the guests, who had now stopped their futile dash to the doors and instead turned back to see what the hell had happened.

There was a guard, up against the wall over there, six down from the stage. The fidgeting one that had been glaring at the Nexo Knights. The guard raised his crossbow, aimed at her heart, and fired again.

(Y/N) deflected the bolt again. This time cutting it in two through the middle of the arrow shaft. The tip of the arrow and its fletching knocking together on the ground at her feet.

(Y/N) stormed across the hall and subdued the archer on her own, taking his crossbow, removing the helmet from his head. It wasn't one of her guards; It was a human she'd never seen before. His face was full of an unfettered loathing. He spat at her and (Y/N) punched him in the face.

"Get him out of here!" (Y/N) ordered and two monsters materialised from across the ballroom to escort the impostor out of the room through the now silent and waiting crowd.

The crowd had barely had time to react, and in any case, most were too in awe. (Y/N) glanced down, letting Queen Selma and others know she was fine with a glance, and then turned to Marquis de Seaweed.

"We will continue, Marquis de Seaweed." (Y/N) ordered calmly and began, smoothing her robes and hoping to look at ease as if attempts on her life happened every day. Which wasn't that far from the truth in her childhood.

(Y/N) returned to the ceremonial throne. As she sat there, a solitary figure in robes of black, the symbol of chaos proudly displayed.

"We are known by many names. We are madness, we are chaos. We are the joy found in pain and the ecstasy of vengeance. You think you don't know us, but you do. We lurk just beneath the surface. Deny us if you can. Fear us you should. After all, we are the darkness below." She spoke clearly projecting her voice for all to hear.

"Sitting before you is (Y/N) the Queen of Monsters. Bow your head low, or have it roll at my feet."

"Gentle beings of the Realm, my fellow monsters, I present to you... (Y/N); The Queen of Monster." Marquis de Seaweed declared. And the crown was placed on (Y/N)'s head.

All eyes turned to her. This would be a defining moment; She had to react carefully. If she screwed this up now or if she showed any fear it would be disastrous. This was the starting moment of a reputation that would follow (Y/N) throughout her rule. One that would echo around the realm into the waiting ears of every potential enemy and supporter.

"It seems at least one person thinks that these speeches have gone on for too long." (Y/N) said and a few people chuckled nervously at her joke. "Perhaps you should all move on to the music and dancing?" She suggested.

Once everyone was calmed down they were led to the ballroom/dining room for the evening which in Kai's opinion looked like it had been decorated for a bad B-grade vampire/horror film, what with the copious quantities of black velvet, grey silk, and four dozen candelabras with long candlesticks placed throughout the room.

"There's only one thing that I hate about seeing (Y/N) get crowned." Jay sighed softly as he took his seat.

Kai, who was picking at an unappetizing dish he'd been served that vaguely reminded him of a combination of sweat socks and runny scrambled eggs a 'real delicacy.' Chef Savage had reassured them, huffed to himself. "Just one? Because I can think of a couple of things that are just all wrong with this..." Kai snorted pushing the plate away which Cole happily took.

Zane raised one eyebrow ever so slightly. "Both the food and the decorations are consistent with the traditions of (Y/N)'s origin. Surely, Kai, you are not judging the merits of her culture against our own?" Zane said scolding his brother.

Although Zane had to admit that the dishes at this banquet were not exactly appetising to him either. Some of the appetisers had at least been palatable, although the last dish which Zane had tried had left him feeling vaguely unbalanced.

Cole on the other hand was just wolfing them down without any alarm.

Kai scowled. "Now just hang on a minute there, Zane. Yeah, I think that the décor is a little tacky, but the cuisine on the other hand. It's fine for monsters... And Cole apparently." Kai said watching Cole scarf down more of what in Kai's opinion was more inedible food.

"But for most of us, this..." Kai gestured his fork towards the offending dish. "...is not exactly edible. People are going to get stomach aches because they tried to eat this because they wanted to be polite. All I'm saying is that they should have picked something a little less traditional and a little bit friendlier to their guests, you know?" Kai complained.

There was some commotion at the doors and everyone turned to look. "Presenting in her first royal appearance." Mate Squiddybeard announced. "(Y/N) the Queen of Monsters."

It was time for her first grand entrance as Queen of Monsters. Heart pounding in her chest, something kept nagging her. As if there was something tugging on her shirt constantly trying to get her attention. But there was nothing there.

(Y/N) let out a deep sigh. The stress was getting to her. A hand fell on her shoulder, startling her. She looked to the side to see Marquis de Seaweed. He was right on time and looked as sharp as ever. (Y/N) giving him a warm smile.

"Ah, your highness, you are just in time." Marquis de Seaweed said with a polite smile. "Let us head for the dining room then. Shall we." Marquis de Seaweed commanded while offering his arm to the Queen.

He looked at two of the guards standing on either side of the doors. The guards bowed shortly and proceeded to open the doors.

The dining room was a large, well-lit room with fairly nice wooden, highly decorated circular tables which were currently decorated in grey silk with dangerous-looking flowers and a skull used to house a candle inside. The chairs were also very impressively decorated with thorny vines and flowers.

Dame Flora the chief gardener of the Forest Monsters had obviously been hard at work growing and decorating with the flowers. And (Y/N) appreciated the effort Dame Flora had put into them.

The table she was to sit at was large enough for ten people but it was set for five. (Y/N) was led to the centre of the table and sat down with Marquis de Seaweed to the right of her, Pythor at her far-right, Mushlord at her left and Queen Selma at her far left.

Lloyd pushed back his plate, giving up on the contents as being beyond inedible. He looked between Kai and Zane who were still debating and Cole who was stuffing his face. He looked over at his uncle, Nya and Jay who were also picking at their provided meals then up at the head table where (Y/N) was sitting.

(Y/N) resisted the urge to squirm in her seat. She couldn't decide whether Lloyd was trying to unnerve her or not. And (Y/N) was forced to fight off the desire to punish for his damned near insubordinate staring.

Thankfully they had the first meal, and (Y/N) tasted the soup carefully. It was slightly salty and light which she greatly appreciated. The conversation was mostly around mundane things for the first half of the dinner, until Mushlord asked a very interesting question.

"What do you plan on doing now you have officially become the new Queen, (Y/N)?" Mushlord questioned the newly crowned Queen.

"There are several things I want to do, but I think that the first thing I will do is find the one responsible for Hela and make them pay. It's really the first thing I should do." (Y/N) wasn't sure how the two Serpentine would react to this and she warily eyed them.

"It's a worthy goal, (Y/N). I am sure that your people will approve of it." Pythor said with a sinister smile. Monsters were ruthless and cunning, yes, but they seemed pleased enough to have a new Queen so fast, despite (Y/N) heritage.

"But I'm sure the humans of Knighton were less than overjoyed to learn about your existence." Pythor answered thoughtfully. To throw off any suspicion of his meddling.

"But it seems that you are seen as the less of two evils, between you and an all-out war for supremacy amongst your fellow monsters while the vile humans of the Kingdom of Knighton still pose a threat. However, a little caution never hurts." Pythor warned, nodding his head slightly towards a specific table in the crowd.

"I'll keep that in mind. Thank you, Pythor." (Y/N) said taking a sip from her goblet and watched the Treble Makers out of the corner of her eye.

The Treble Makers were up on stage to perform for those gathered. Only with on noticeable difference. The Siren of Seaguard was doing the singing. Songs that she had composed in honour of their new Queen. (Y/N) found that she spent most of the evening watching them.

The monsters cheered and applauded the band. "Hu, not bad." The Book of Monsters begrudgingly admitted to Jestro as the jester was applauding.

There was a soft clinking of silverware against metal. Everyone looked at the head table, where (Y/N) stood, goblet in hand. "I am most pleased that you all came to my coronation." The Queen of Monsters said with a slight indicating of her approval.

"I hope that you have all enjoyed your meals." A few guests cleared their throats, while another handful tried to produce genuine half-smiles. (Y/N) continued cheerfully, not caring that barely anyone who wasn't a monster had eaten a thing at the evening's banquet.

"Well, I believe it is time I retire to my throne for the rest of the evening." (Y/N) commented and took her leave.

Lloyd bit his lower lip and watched (Y/N) leave. He didn't know what it was but there was a tiny little voice shouting from the back of his mind shouting at him to go see (Y/N). Hadn't Kai once told him that 'He'd never know until he tried' after all? It was certainly a damned persistent voice, one that Lloyd couldn't seem to ignore.

A few minutes later Lloyd found himself standing outside (Y/N)'s throne room, half-filled with terror and half-filled with total suave confidence, and completely certain that the hallway was rocking beneath his feet.

Lloyd felt a certain tension in his heart as he stepped up to the heavy wooden doors that he had passed by hundreds of times trying to work up the courage. Behind the heavy door was the one girl who could make him, the legendary green ninja, feel intimidated.

Macy came around the corner on her own way to speak to (Y/N). "Oh, hey Lloyd." Macy greeted the green ninja. "Hi, Macy." Lloyd exclaimed nervously. "Are you going in?" Macy questioned the green ninja. "I was hoping." Lloyd said with a chuckle.

"So was I." Macy said turning her attention to the door. "I was hoping to talk to her and maybe convince her not to enact revenge on the realm. I mean it was over one hundred years ago to us but it all happened yesterday to her."

"I know what it's like to be forced into a role you don't want." Macy added. "My father wants me to be a perfect princess and I want to be a knight. So I know the pressure she is under to live up to everyone else expectations."

"But I think the assassination attempt today pretty much snuffed out any hope of that." Macy said rubbing the back of her neck.

"Yeah, that was really scary." Lloyd admitted to the red Nexo Knight. "What was even scarier." Macy said with a short pause. "The fact that she was completely unfazed by an attempt on her life."

"How often does it happen to her that she had that indifferent of a reaction to it." Macy asked in what could only be described as a mix of abject horror and fascination.

Lloyd's face fell. His mind assaulted by the scene of what happened during the coronation.

"I can imagine." Lloyd said, trying desperately to keep his self-control. "Take care, Lloyd." Macy said walking back to the ballroom having lost her courage.

Emboldened by his talk with Macy, soon after, Lloyd walked into the throne room. "(Y/N), I want to talk to you." Lloyd demanded.

The newly crowned Queen looked up from her reading. "Hello, ninja. I've been wondering about you." (Y/N) said calmly before returning to her reading.

"Can we speak privately, please?" Lloyd asked. (Y/N) was surprised that someone like Lloyd could be so direct about such a thing.

(Y/N)'s eyes flicked over her guards. Lloyd played with his hands– this was a long shot for the green ninja. She had absolutely no reason to trust him. He just wanted to talk, just the two of them.

"Leave us." (Y/N) said, but it was directed at her guards rather than the green ninja.

"Yes, my Queen." The guards all said in slightly confused unison, lining up before tromping out the door.

When they had all left, and the door had clanged shut, Lloyd took a step forward.

(Y/N) sat still, saying nothing. Lloyd could see the fierce glower in her eyes, and it made him uncomfortable. In an attempt to break some of the tension, he said earnestly. "I'd like for us to get to know each other." He regretted speaking those words as soon as he'd finished.

(Y/N) gave him an unreadable look. "Was he goading her? (Y/N) the Queen of Monsters of all beings. Was this human suicidal?" (Y/N) thought to herself.

"(Y/N), I understand that you're going to try to use your powers for your vengeance, and you know that I'll do my best to convince you otherwise, so long as I'm here. But what are you going to do in the case that you finish your mission of revenge?" Lloyd said softly.

"Who said finding the one who unleashed Hela on this realm and started the Serpentine war was my only mission?" (Y/N) responded. And a shiver ran down Lloyd's back.

There was a sudden loud bang as the doors to the throne room were thrown open. Sharkerado and Deadwood & Knot shoved the Ninjas and Sensei Wu inside the room.

Ronin steps out from behind the throne and handed (Y/N) the Realm Crystal.

"The Realm Crystal!" Lloyd shouted, instinctively putting his hands in his gi to find that the crystal was indeed missing. "Ronin you thief!" Nya spat. Ronin just shrugged at the insult. "Hey, no one owns that thing." Ronin pointed out. "Borg just guards the thing."

"So this is the Realm Crystal that Echo was telling me about?" (Y/N) said inspecting the crystal.

"(Y/N)." Sensei Wu said warningly. (Y/N) ignored the spinjitzu master.

Lloyd stepped closer to (Y/N). He glanced at (Y/N), a faint suggestion of uncertainty actually manifesting in his eyes. His hand rose, and for one crazy split second, it almost seemed like Lloyd was going to reach for (Y/N). But then Lloyd quickly lowered his hand, which curled into a loose ball at his side.

"I imagine you have many questions." Lloyd said, sounding unsure of himself.

"Doesn't everybody." (Y/N) shot back sarcastically, still not taking her eyes off the crystal.

The bizarre guilt spiked painfully, making Lloyd's stomach twist, as his hand made another aborted attempt to reach out.

Zane took the chance step closer. His intense blue eyes lit with concern and threaded throughout with worry.

"(Y/N) you are our friend." Zane said as if that was some kind of explanation.

"No, I'm not." (Y/N) said quickly, refusing to be swayed even an inch by those beautiful eyes and the promises in their depths. "You were quite clear about wanting nothing to do with the weakling who lost her way before you found out about the oath to hunt down the elemental master responsible for the serpentine war." (Y/N) coldly pointed out.

"That's not true." Cole objected. Sensei Wu felt a stab of guilt. "That person's actions were reprehensible, I do not pretend otherwise, but they are not relevant to now." Sensei Wu argued.

"That's a lovely fairytale," (Y/N) said with a forced smile. She knew better than to believe such obvious lies. "Do you know what happened to the Anacondrai children that your ancestors imprisoned?" (Y/N) asked Wu and the ninjas.

Nobody said anything. "No?" (Y/N) respond. "We'll let me inform you what happened." (Y/N) said with a cheery tone in her voice.

"Did you know that they were imprisoned without provisions?" (Y/N) began. "I don't see-" Sensei Wu objected but was cut off by (Y/N) continuing to talk in that sugary sweet voice. "And that decades into their imprisonment, the Anacondrai ended up starving as a result of said imprisonment?"

"And in their final act of desperation, they resorted to cannibalising their dead with Pythor being left as the sole survivor after eating several of his fellow tribe members." (Y/N) finished shaking her hands in a jazz hands motion.

"That's why Pythor is crazy and wants revenge!?" Ronin shouted while turning a deathly paler.

"I call it justified." (Y/N) giggled like a mad man. "Who wouldn't want vengeance after that?"

Lloyd threw up onto the floor. His eyes practically bulging out of his head staring down at the mess on the floor. Sensei Wu went still as a statue and Kai went to help Lloyd. The rest just stood there with horrified looks on their faces.

"Do you lot even understand?" (Y/N) questioned the ninja and their sensei. "You do not come from some noble, heroic bloodlines, you come from genocidal mass murderers. And one of your little elemental masters club is responsible for so much evil." (Y/N) stated with a twisted grin.

"Not just in Ninjago mind you. But across what three, four other realms. That's an impressive body count." (Y/N) mentioned still giving a sarcastic smile.

"Now I have a duty to fulfil and you would do well to stay out of my way." (Y/N) said, lowly and opened a portal that sucked the Ninja and Sensei Wu inside and dumping them back into Ninjago.

"So... What now?" Ronin asked. "Have the guards clean that up." (Y/N) stated pointing at the pile of puke.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

Once the festivity wound down it was time for everyone to head home. Be it the Fortrex, the Lava Lands or Ninjago.

"(Y/N), are you really not going to go with us?" Queen Selma asked a bit dubiously. "I wish you would come with us. All of us would like that." Queen Selma implored her to reconsider staying behind.

"I know Queen Selma but I have a duty that I must live up to." (Y/N) answered immediately. "Plus I need to track down some people." (Y/N) hinted to the crystal in her hands.

"As you wish, (Y/N). Come see us when you are ready." Queen Selma replied in a slightly scornful tune. "But do stay safe." Queen Selma added in a motherly tone.

"You too Queen Selma." (Y/N) responded. "Give my regards to the other Serpentine. I won't want them to worry." (Y/N) said with a smile to Queen Selma. "But I must ask. How will you deal with them?" (Y/N) asked nodding her head towards Dareth and Ronin.

"I'll manage, I can handle those two any day. Besides, Echo will be there to act as a nanny. Queen Selma replied and the friendly copper nindroid nodding his head in agreement with her.

"Hey!" Both Ronin and Dareth's voices sounded from somewhere behind The Treble Makers and Queen Selma.

Queen Selma and (Y/N) share a quick giggle at the boy's expense.

"I'll see you in a few days then?" (Y/N) asked the band. "Yes, and we can't wait for you to return. We'll see you then (Y/N). Take care." Mezmo replied for the Treble Makers. "Take care, Treble Makers." (Y/N) said giving Mezmo a hug.

"Perhaps we can meet later and discuss what will be happening in the future." Queen Selma said also giving (Y/N) a hug. "I will look forward to it." (Y/N) said reassuringly with a smile. She just wanted Queen Selma to just relax and stop worrying about her.

(Y/N) held the Realm Crystal up and opened a portal and sent them all safely home.

She would have already gone with them but she had a few things she had to deal with before she was sent forth on her quest.

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

Jestro sat down on the special chair just for him on the Evil Mobile Sparkz and Burnzie dutifully pulling it around. Jestro had a doppy, love struck smile on his face.

The food, dancing and the music made the whole thing feel magical to the demented jester. Jestro lent back in his chair. "Ah, life is good." Jestro said with a content sigh.

As if on cue the Book of Monsters began sniffing the air. "Jestro I smell a book." The Book of Monsters reported smacking his lip as he did.

The Evil Mobile passed a sign reading Funnyton, the funniest town in the kingdom.

"The village of Funnyton? Isn't that kind of a funny place to find the last magic book?" Jestro commented scratching his head. "I don't think!" The Book of Monsters shouted at Jestro. "I attack!"

(Third Person P.O.V)

__ Nexo Knights __

Later that night, (Y/N) went to meet the would-be assassin. She took Baron Badwood and Dame Flora with her, as Marquis insisted that she take someone.

"Ah, look! The Queen of Monsters!" The assassin laughed when they entered the dungeon. "Oi, freak... You've got them all on the string, don't you?" (Y/N) saw Baron Badwood tighten the hold on his sword slightly, but she ignored it for the time being.

"Why did you try to kill me?" (Y/N) started not really expecting an answer; this was all formality anyway. The assassin tilted his head.

"It was fun, next question." The assassin said with a snide tone. And (Y/N) made no response.

"It will certainly be fun to watch you hang for your crimes against the Isle of Vile and her people." (Y/N) responded, calm as could be. "However, tell me who sent you, and I might decide to be merciful." (Y/N) offered. Though it wasn't a complete lie she did say might.

"Merciful?" The assassin spat at her. "Yes." (Y/N) responded. "You have no idea the levels of pain I can inflict on another. So tell me who sent you." (Y/N) said. Her voice was low and powerful, and it sent shivers down Dame Flora's spine.

"You're a freak." The assassin growled at her. "A mistake, An abomination that needs to be exterminated."

(Y/N) stayed silent.

"You may have power, freak, it doesn't matter." The assassin hissed. "Your kind will meet its end. Monsters will fall and we will laugh as your kind finally wiped from existence." The assassin laughed.

(Y/N)'s eyes were cold and empty as she stared down at the would-be assassin.

"I may have power, would-be assassin, but my power has a purpose. I have a duty to fulfil." (Y/N) said slowly.

"But I will have the pleasure of watching you die first." (Y/N) promised. Then she turned on her heels and left the dungeon, Baron Badwood and Dame Flora staying behind.

The assassin started screaming as she turned the corner. (Y/N) didn't even blink. She had a job to do.
